@daveheel Guys do it too, they just are usually showing less skin, so its not as noticeable. Dancers tend to make themselves up like they are going on stage - the lights on the floor can make people look washed out, so the tanner helps with that. Also, Latin dancers tend to use more tanner, because at some point, it became the style in Latin to attempt to appear as Hispanic as possible, many women even dyed their hair black. Look at Karina Smirnoff when she was partnering with Slavik Kryklyvyy.

@abc1118 yeah, i remember karina too. she's darker in the competitions than on DWTS. i just think the dancers go overboard with the fake tan looking orange.
