I used to have this VHS (well my dad did). I miss this tape because I loved it so much. I also loved the fact that the NWA had Bash tours. Wonderful time to be a wrestling fan.
By the way WWE had its first ladder match YEARS later between Bret Hart and HBK, and WWE acted as if it was a new concept and the first one in history.
No WWF had its first ladder match between HBK & Bret Hart not HBK and Razor Ramon. The HBK vs Bret hart match happened years before the ladder matches HBK & Razor Ramon had was for the IC title way back when Sherri Martel was still managing Shawn Michaels. But even Stampede wrestling in Canada had ladder matches before WWF did.
Well, regardless of who was in the first one, WWF definitely did not have a new commodity on their hands when they rolled out their first ladder match, despite their claims to the contrary.
@brendan909 I would not know if it was the first. I am not an expert on this. But I did see some footage of a very young Bret Hart vs Bad News Allen Ladder match on the Bet Hart DVD. WWE was definitely not the first to do this.
@BruiserDrop Actually, if my memory serves me well it was Junk Yard Dog vs Jake Roberts in Stampede that had the first ladder match... WWE just steals concept... like Hell in a cell...
Memphis/Jerry Lawler had a cage more than very similar than HIAC... Except no top...
ECW didn't invent hardcore. Plus as big of an ECW fan as I was. I was also an XPW fan and the shows used to come on back to back. XPW week after week was more hardcore then ECW and pushed the envelope more. Heyman is also a very dishonest man by the way.
Nah, he's the worst. Sad thing was, he actually got worse as time went on. He was the reason I stopped watching WCW. I couldn't take it anymore - having said that, Tenay and Larry were pretty bad too - Bobby Heenan was the only saving grace.
its tully cokechard!!!!!!!!

Tully should've went over in this match. But then again, when Big Dust was booking himself, guess it meant he was gonna go over himself

Sounds like they're wrestling in a fish tank.

BTW: The WWE would be put off TV for good if they ever had a match like this on Raw. But can you imagine how great it would be? Awesome!

after watching this does anyone else think that wrestling today is pretty much garbage or is it just me?
olsharky 2 years ago 16
There's no such thing as wrestling anymore, it's "sports entertainment" and, yeah, it lacks something.
DocLeggz 2 years ago
@olsharky nope, it's not you. It sucks today.

Except it was Razor Ramon and HBK. But, either way, ladder matches had been a staple in NWA territories for decades before that match.

@DocLeggz We can all agree on that.

@DocLeggz it was bret vs hbk. Look up the 'WWF Most Unusual Matches Ever' vhs tape. It's on ebay; the matches are listed
From what I hear, Calgary Stampede had the first ever; Bret vs Bad
News Allen.
so yes, not new.
brendan909 1 year ago
@brendan909 I'd like to see that one from Stampede. Though I doubt it could match the awesomeness of Dusty vs. Tully.

@BruiserDrop WWE makes it a habit of trying to rewrite history rather than preserve it.
