I like the fact that you can take a McQueen Jacket from this collection and pair it with jeans and it would be a great look. Fashion goes backwards-forwards-left-right-up-down-and sideways. It is subjective at best. Let the buyers decide. McQueen is a great brand and everyone knows it.
It is a trick of the color. He uses the dark colors to create slimness over the light. It is a great use of color. The style is very 60s anyways. The slim pants with the slim jacket been done before, but McQueen uses the colors brilliantly.
I like the jacket's construction and the use of colors. It is different than Gucci's collection by far. Gucci designs for an older set and McQueen designs for a younger set. The use of colors alone set McQueen apart. He gave me edge, unique, style, color, and sex.
They are definitely not slim its the illusion the clothing creates on the body, i wouldnt wear the clothing, but i think its clever. ps does anyone out there know any of the songs played in this collection?
this collection is too slimane for dior homme s/s 2000...so derivative. when the most inventive outfit on a men's wear runway is an aeon flux sherbet colored cat suit shown on a female model, you know you've A.) succumbed to commercial pressures, and B.) let Gucci Group dominate and dictate your creative direction.
this show is so boring and the models have no energy fuck they need to eat a litle more they need just a llitle more meat in their bodies.............
for the male models, they are not slim at all, they have enough muscles. I got a magazine which has alot of their photos from backstage, So I can see their body (not all of them but they are really fine). And for the girl models, I have no comment.
the mens bathing suit SICK! the final mens look with metal plates is flawless! and i love how the crowd is clearly sweating their couture out. The collection's androgyny, as well as the rigidity and contrasting fluidity of shape versus form and fabrication is genius because it's manic but controlled. Cheers
I also dislike the fact that he displayed s/s 2009 women's resort with s/s 2009 men's pret-a-porter...the idea just seems so makeshift.
I do like the color palette...it references his debut at givenchy for s/s 1997 haute couture, an all white and gold Icarus, mythological collection...nice to see these colors for menswear.
the reinvigoration of late-90s Prada menswear is apparent. the collection needed a booster shot in the arm of pure, mcqueen manic genius....it's too-fine-tailored. AND the whole aeon flux/gattaca thing is DEAD...done, done, done.
Every body grasping for air and the models sweating by the end of the runway LOL...
Hot structure and amazing cut on the blazers by the way!
