Now I wasn't an A* student in maths but I'm sure 140 million is higher than 50 million?!

Press releases all over the world have stated that the Wii has reached 50 million units 8 months BEFORE the PS2 did. Hence, "most popular". Which means, at this rate, it is on track to outselling the PS2.

So, instead of posting 20 comments and flipping out like a cry baby, learn to pay attention, son.

Yup! that's what I lean't in school too. It seem my vocab is fine. Having sold 140 million units the PS2 is still the worlds most popular games console.

He actually needed to say 'sold more than in the same amount of time' to clarify the point he was making.

Fastest selling = fastest selling.

Stuart Miles incorrectly stated the Wii as the most popular console. It is the 'fastest selling' console. The two are NOT the same.

Go look in a dictionary. You'll see no mention of time or timescale next to the definition.

I've checked out several websites reporting the same news and all of them say 'fastest selling'. Youtube will not let me post the links however.

My last comment on this subject, you're going nowhere with this.

It took the PS2 8 months longer than the Wii took to sell 50 million units. The PS2 has been out longer, so we can't directly compare the final sales of both consoles. But with the stats we DO have, the Wii is selling at a faster pace than the PS2 did. Hence, "most popular".

Either you are an extreme Sony fanboy, hate the Wii, or are generally dense. I agree with MegaWhatTV's statement because it is true, and is logical.

I'm positive ur the extremely dense one here. I've checked MegaWhatTV's vid with 3 teachers, & 2 friends & they all agree that in this particular instance 'fastest selling' is required when making reference to 50M units but faling to mention the 140M sales of the PS2. Reference to time is needed.

I'm actually a Wii fanboy and own just about every console there has ever been. But publishing innacurate and misleading information about my passion infuriates me. Almost as much as morons like you.

As of March 25th the Wii has sold approx 50 million units, but as of July 20th 2008 the PS2 has now sold over 140 million units worldwide and is 9 years old.
