  • u can send one of these spinning by just tapping it with ur wing still those krauts are damn geniuses

  • wasnt the engine a pulse jet and that why it was called the buzz bomb?

  • correct!

  • The ramps dont look that easy to make.Ive got a v1 clip and it sounded like an unsilenced motorcycle. Its when the engine cut out you had to worry.

    good clip.

  • werent they called doodlebugs?

  • Yes it was, it was a pulse engine that ran it too. Thats the reason its SO LOUD !

  • Thats is not a mobile launcher that is fixed As I recall on the V-2 had a mobile launcher on wheels The V-1 could be launched by aircraft underwing of a He 111

  • The fixed ramps were quickly detected and bombed, so mobile ramps like this, easily erected and dismantled, were used to launch missiles from different parts of the Pas de Calais. The experimental air-launched V1s failed to pose a serious threat.

  • Near my hometown where 7 v1 lauchramps. And there where all build in the last years of the war, so they where all build like this one.. When a lauchsite was bombed the could break it appart and drop the steel contruction on a pre made concrete foundation.. I now where that reserve base is in my area, and that one was never used.. But i dont now if the germans elswhere ever relocated their ramps..

  • nice video. could you tell where exactly is that?

  • wheres this at???Cool Video!!

  • This was at Eperlecques in Northern France in October 2006. The site is open to the public and the English commentary can be heard: "Back in the present, we hope you will never forget this journey to the past..."
