I was shy and young, and he seemed a little hurt when I didn't reach out to him when he did me. When I did, he brought me in to him, like a side hug. It was amazing, I was a fan from the beginning. We got a table next to the stage, and he sort of sang to me a few times in the show. I'll never forget Andy. Heart broken the way he spent his last 6 months.

I remember being in Chile when Andy performed this (at Viña del Mar Music Festival in the early eighties). I was amazed for two things: He was so loved by the people there and he knew it. He sang for almost two hours (maybe more) in order to pay back his public for all the love they gave to him, singing songs he hand't prepared like this one. See that girl that climbed the stage just to kiss him full on his lips. Only latins would do such a thing and what Andy did?..He just let her do it....

I remember being in Chile when Andy performed this (at Viña del Mar Music Festival in the early eighties). I was amazed for two things: He was so loved by the people there and he knew it. He sang for almost two hours (maybe more) in order to pay back his public for all the love they gave to him, singing songs he hand't prepared like this one. See that girl that climbed the stage just to kiss him full on his lips. Only latins would do such a thing and what Andy did?..He just let her do it....

@yes4545, you clearly don't know what brings on drug addiction - it's a way of escape to cover up pain and insecurity, and Andy had both in his life. Just because someone "appears" to have everything doesn't mean that they do, or they don't have their problems. Success doesn't guarantee happiness either. His daughter remembers him as being kind and gentle, and why shouldn't she be proud of and love her dad? As Maurice said, Andy helped people, but was unable to help himself.

At this time in the 80's anyone who was anyone had to rock a perm, i felt very alone in the 80's either i had to have a perm or wear tight spandex leather pants and tease my hair to the moon, Andy was great but that period i don't mind leaving in the past RIP Andy.

@malacabeza Hi, How did you know what year this concert was? I'm 49 and remember seeing the Bee Gees a lot on TV but can't remember this footage of just Andy. Thought it might be around1982 because of the perm heh heh. I know Andy died in 1988. Was this a Vegas or Tahoe show in 1984?
