No doubt there will be texture mods for PC in the future. But you can't really expect amazing visuals on such a huge game, especially on console. And so lower end PCs can handle it.

Fallout 3 has worse graphics than Skyrim, in my opinion. Plus Skyrim is biggest game Bethesda has ever built, so bigger than FO3. Grand Theft Auto also doesn't even touch Skyrim in terms of scale. And I'm not just talking about the map, either. There is so much content in Skyrim that I can't even begin to imagine how long it would take to experience it all. I still haven't seen all of Oblivion's content and it's also not nearly as big as Skyrim. I don't know about Crysis :P
