Fantastic stuff. As an old Hull boy myself I recognise most of those places but the images at 1.30, 2.25 and 3.42 had me scratching my head. Anybody help me out? (especially 1.30 which doesn't look like Hull at all).

Excellent photos again, Nick. The one with the Elephants at 1:24, reminds me of a similar photo taken in the Gorbals, Glasgow, probably around the same time.

I think it was a Circus, they must have toured the whole country. I'll bet there are many photos all showing this unique image, all over the UK.

I remember as a kid in the fifties, seeing a circus parade that included elephants walking in line. So you are probably right. Billy Smarts or Chipperfields, most probably.

Billy smarts used to come in from Paragon station and crowds used to stand for ages to see it I used to look forward to it great time and coco the clown used to be with them
