The MP7 and the FN P90 fill the same role of "controllable, body armor defeating PDW's".

The FN P90 is by far the best, but it has a deafening sound and has blinding muzzle flash (possible propaganda). It has recoil, but it's straight back (no aim loss).

The MP7 is a lesser weapon in every way, but your senses won't die. Your aim will start shaking half way through a mag though.

I love the concept of this weapon. Perfect PDW/backup weapon for aircrews, tankers, truck drivers, radio operators, snipers, machine gunners, etc. However, I really question the effectiveness of the 4.6mm round. I also question the armor penetration "need". A front line infantryman may need to bust body armor. But he would becarrying a rifle. I think a round more effective on soft targets would be a better compromise.

@KaelDragon The Mp7 have 40 round magazines and they are both around the same length of 20 inches with stock extended. With the P90 ergonomics your hand gets cramped after a short while. Having a standard pistol and vertical grip is so much more easier and comfortable.

@geod5 Kind of, they both kill quickly and have low recoil, but the Kriss Super V has a ridiculus fire rate, meaning in full auto you will reload often. However the ridiculus fire rate will basically guarentee you shot more than he did, and with .45 it only tkes one or two shots. I think the Kriss should be revised to have slower fire rate, then it would be the true all-around CQC weapon, but for now, in my mind its the MP7

thats not correct exactly. The 5,7*28mm weight is between 1,5 to 2,6 gramm. The 4,6*30mm is between 2 to 2,6gramm. In fact the 4,6*30mm is 40 m/s faster than the 5,7*28mm.

Regarding the penetration comment. The MP7 round is designed to initially penetrate then stop so as to disperse more the energy of the round into the target, it's a bloody lethal round to be honest, I've seen the test shots into gelatine and the shockwave of the MP7 round is fierce.

It will penetrate armour significantly better than 9mm, but it will not over penetrate, meaning the round stays in the subject ... result.
