frekin awesome .... i was deciding on a processor and this is the one ... thanx man ...do u think 30fps on crysis is good??? i havent ever played it and i would love to...but i want it to look good ..thanx
Hello, I recently purchased a powercolour 5750 512mb gddr5 vid card. However, the video card runs a bit slow. On crysis for example...at 1440 x 900 on high/ med settings i get 10-20 fps max. I see other people maxing it out on the same card with 30+ fps.
My system specs:
-amd 4050e dual core 2.1ghz
-2gb ddr2 ram
vista 32 bit
550 watt BFG psu
ati 5750 512mb gddr5
Do u think the ram and CPU could be a bottleneck and are affecting my performance? Thank you very much.
I got this CPU along with a cheap Gigabyte 760 chipset AM2+ MoBo with 4 Gigs of Kingston DDR2 800MHz for one of my friends .. and I am gonna throw my old 4870 in his system and I got myself a nice 5850 :D
Now I will OC the Ph II X4 810 to the limit on it's default cooler .
It's strange, I can never find anything that pertains to the performance of the 820 only the 810. Also would buying a better graphics card help in boosting the performance in the games?
halfpol, lol Im pretty happy with CS 1.6 I dont really like the CSS graphics. And PS: Ive got the new PC, but it got another option, they got almost the same specs:
@peterinfamilyguy Hi man i got windows 7 and im really surprised that really all the old games i played on it were compatible.i played brothers in arms,
call of duty 1,Splinter cell,NFS and so on i even played a game from the ninetees on it Worms armaggedon.
Yea Windows 7 have the most compatibility for WIndows XP programs. My question were the 64-bit edition, wich has less compatibility compared with x86 (32-bit)
No. You are much better off going on ebay and buy a quad core system from a e-retailer a lot cheaper. There are a bunch of Dells 545 computers from "lucky dog bargins" e-retailer on ebay that comes with a Core 2 Quad 9400, 8gb of DDR2 800 ram and 750gb hard drive selling for under $450 with free shipping! For the money that you would save you could throw in a nice gpu and really be rockin and it would still cost less then the HP macine you were looking at with more ram and a bigger hard drive.
Yes, as long as your case can hold the new card. Make sure your power source can handle it too! My old computer had the same problem, but I didn't watch out for the power source, so it just ended up not turning on. Once I up'd my power source, it worked like a charm.
yes but you should get a radeon 4670 they are selling for under 70 bucks now and don't require an extra 6 pin power connection. Not to mention it would out perform the 9500GT for around the same price.
i got a phenom II X4 805 @ 2.5ghz(stock). i want to overclock it to get a bit more performance out of it. just want to ask you if it is really necessary to increase the cpu voltage to get a nice stable OC?
i'm currently trying it out using the AMD Overdrive utility and so far, i was able to OC it only up to 2.9ghz(haven't tried 3.0ghz yet) 'coz whenever i try autoclocking it, using that overdrive, it would go up to 3.1ghz but its not stable when i run stability test on it
@tachumi , you dont need to increase the voltages if you are overclocking a little and have good cooling. Otherwise if you plan to overclock a lot you need better cooling and will need to increase the voltage for sure! A 300Mhz increase can be done easily and be stable without voltage increase on this CPU.
and also on what part of the AMD overdrive utility should i see the precise voltage of my cpu? 'coz i'm a bit confused. is the VIN0 voltage under the board status the same as the cpu voltage that u see at basic system info
i have a asus m3a78, what max overclock do you think i can get? I will use the stock cooler at first, but will probs get a different one. PCWizKid, which budget cooler do you think i should use; and would be the best?

Very nice CPU! I have the PII X4 920. PCWizKid is my CPU ok. I'm running a ASUS M3N78-EM MB! Do you know anything about this board? I want to OC but not sure where to start. Thanks!
i have a phenom 2 810 currently overclocked to 2.86ghz per core by increasing the fsb in the bios to 220mhz, i havnt changed any voltage settings, previously i overclocked the cores to 2.99ghz each (230fsb) but the system crashed under load. should i increase the core voltage to 1.45v (currently 1.312v) to over clock to about 3.1ghz per core??
@staggus, do not do a voltage jump to 1.45v, but gradually increase it 0.025v and test each time, monitoring your temperatures also until you get the results you want. Every board/cpu overcocks differently so you cannot expect to get my results exactly.
@staggus, if you look at the subtitles at minute 0:34 in the video you will see I say Total Cache size is 6MB (2MB L2 and 4BM L3) .Please watch it again.
I see all stores are still selling the 810 with 4mb cache. The only store that sells the 910 w. 6mb cache is at Puget Custom PC. Unless they are phasing out the 4mb versions.
To he honest, I think the best choice is the Phenom II X4 920. It only costs $10 more on Newegg ($150), and it has a higher clock speed (2.8 GHz vs. 2.6 GHz) and 2 more MB of L3 cache (6 MB vs. 4 MB). It's also better for over-clocking. Most people have gotten it to 3.2 GHz on the stock cooler (which is actually a very good one; heatsink is made out of copper, is of a decent size, and has heat pipes for improving cooling) while keeping temps. low.
@mastersniper13 , I already show you the settings I used to overclock in the video 2:29 you will see the CPU Core Voltage is 1.448v , the multiplier (CPU clock ratio) is x13 the CPU bus frequency is 239Mhz, HT link frequency is set to 1900Mhz and the NB frequency is set to 2151Mhz. All of this is set in the BIOS manually. Or you can try the AMD Overdrive utility to overclock it, which I didnt do.
ummm no and yes... it depends on the cpu, AMD is more for gaming, i know this because of benchmarks my cousin did at a computer shot (BCOM) and AMD is better in gaming and communications, Intels better with music and HDD, this is avraging with AMD and Intel, and this does not include core i7
If it wasn't for AMD there would be no 64-bit on your cute little intel processors. If it wasn't for AMD you would be paying $250 for a Pentium D. If it wasn't for AMD, intel would be playing monopoly with your head, moreso than right now.
One thing you obviously don't get is that AMD is about price for performance, not performance for price... Catch my drift?
the am3 cpu has less pins than a standard am2+ cpu, but is the same size as an am2+ proc, therefore it fits inside an am2 or am3 board. however, an am3 motherboard cant take an am2+ cpu because there are more pins on the am2 processor.
which cpu would be better I Currently have AM2 Amd 64 x2 5000+ im looking to upgrade to the amd3 cpu im looking between the phenom II x3 710 or phenom II x4 810? using a Biostar TA790GX 128mb motherboard.
I purchased Q8200 because of its mobo (which is g45) is cheaper then phenom's 790gx. And also u dont need upgrade your bios. u dont get a problem abouth compatibility. I must say that amd should decrease phenom810's price
hey my freind wants a pc for photoshop and video editing only and he doesnt game at all and i want to know if there is so much difference between the Phenom II 4 810 and INTEL q9550 cause the price Difference in My country is Horrible like 80% more expensive ... i also wanted to know will CUDA Tweak Photoshop or not ?
"yes.but intel q6600 pwnod all ADM's in the first benchmark ahahahah no overclock on q6600 " Are you on crack the q6600 gets smoked by most phenom ll quads and they consume less power and overclock better than the old Q6600. jeez that was the dumbest comment i have ever read.
Yeah, the i7 is like $1000 for the good one... Even I would probably buy it if it was worth $1500 for just the CPU and motherboard, but it's too expensive. I could save up for ages, I guess, but by then there'll be better stuff out. As I'm 14, I don't exactly have a huge source of income =]
The Phenom II is relatively cheap, you can apparantly get it for $190 (even though for me it's £170, which is like $250... not fair).
Yeah... I know what you mean. The Americans make a film or game, it comes out first in America. Britain makes a flm or game, it comes out first in America. Anywhere else makes a film or game (except Japan), it comes out first in America. Only Japan get their own games first.
That's it. Just keep typing. With every mismatched letter you make yourself look more and more like an idiot.
"fucking poor Faggot". I didn't realise faggot was a noun. And I'm not poor, to be honest. The fact you have to attempt (read: attempt, not succeed) making fun of someone for how much money they have is pathetic, and shows that you are such.
I said "a few reasons". One of them was that you get a 3 year warranty, another one is that they aren't going "HEY WE'RE INTEL AND WE'RE RICH BUY THINGS FROM US", another is that their products actually work... I had a Celeron-M laptop which broke down a month after the warranty ended... turned out the processor had magically fried itself like a freaking egg.
Fuck my warranty? No. It's a piece of paper, you degenerate scum.
Nevergive, there's no problem liking Intel over AMD... it's all the people going "AMD ARE SHIT LOLOL" that gets on my nerves.
Anyway, I prefer AMD for a few reasons. Their marketing isn't down your throat, their products are quality and you get a far longer warranty for that reason. 3 year warranty on AMD products. Intel can't put shit to that, to be honest. Also, I think they're generally a far better company in terms of... not being arrogant arseholes.
Oh dude, think you can tell me how to clean out my D:/ Recovery drive? It's really small (9 gigs) and only has 300 megs left. Since it's a partition, could I move its contents over to My C:/ Drive (170 Gigs)?
no your not going to need cache this isn't an Intel CACHE hungry chip like Intel core 2 duo. you will need L3cache speed Increase for more performance. note Hyper transport speed can not be higher then Nb speed. you should be able to get it 2.8ghz.
Hey can you help me out. I was think about buying this but I dont know if my motherborde is compatible. I have a Dell dimension 2400. I only put 2 GBs of RAM in it, but now am looking for a Phenom like yours. I got the computer in 2001. So if you can tell me that it will work without changing out parts, that will be great.
the new phenomII x4s are pritty good. much better than their first attempt at quadcore. I currently have the i7920 @ 4Ghz :P . I still prefer intel tho.

You can under-volt the 810 from 1.35 volt or so down to 1.15 V.
When you do this, the overall system can consume about 25-30 Watts less. In my case, it went from near 100 Watt down to 67 Watt.

only concern is that my mobo specs courtesy of HP support, states it can only handle up to 95watt.
So am I only limited to the 810 model becuz of this?

I am buy this prosesador now
somos3hermanos 2 years ago
910 is 2.6ghz w. 6mb cache. This is only available if you buy from a custom pc store like Puget.
810 is 2.6ghz w. 4mb cache is available both retail and computer builders.
My 810 was able to OC to 3.25ghz w. 2500 mhz HT Link. CPU voltage was at 1.35 V. Both my read and write were well over 8000+ points.

lOl while watching this video, Intel adverts started popping up on the video and on the sides. The irony.

StokaSR 2 years ago
Well my 810 do that at stock volts with 6MB L3
SolarianStrike 2 years ago
I see all stores are still selling the 810 with 4mb cache. The only store that sells the 910 w. 6mb cache is at Puget Custom PC. Unless they are phasing out the 4mb versions.
Did you unlock the extra cache?
AdmiralCecil 2 years ago
Yes I did unlock the extra cache.
And yes I OC my 810 to 250Mhz *13 at stock volts.
SolarianStrike 2 years ago
You can get it to 3.6 GHz if you have a better cooler.
Atheismrulez 2 years ago
To he honest, I think the best choice is the Phenom II X4 920. It only costs $10 more on Newegg ($150), and it has a higher clock speed (2.8 GHz vs. 2.6 GHz) and 2 more MB of L3 cache (6 MB vs. 4 MB). It's also better for over-clocking. Most people have gotten it to 3.2 GHz on the stock cooler (which is actually a very good one; heatsink is made out of copper, is of a decent size, and has heat pipes for improving cooling) while keeping temps. low.
Atheismrulez 2 years ago
are you going to do the overclocking video for the phenom 2 810?
i bought one a week ago and i want to overclock but i dont know how.
mastersniper13 2 years ago
@mastersniper13 , I already show you the settings I used to overclock in the video 2:29 you will see the CPU Core Voltage is 1.448v , the multiplier (CPU clock ratio) is x13 the CPU bus frequency is 239Mhz, HT link frequency is set to 1900Mhz and the NB frequency is set to 2151Mhz. All of this is set in the BIOS manually. Or you can try the AMD Overdrive utility to overclock it, which I didnt do.
PCWizKid 2 years ago
im sorry for sending you so much stuff for this processor, but i have one more question.
will the stock cooler be enough if i overclock to your specs? or do i need a different cooler.
mastersniper13 2 years ago
Stack cooler means the cooler that comes with the processor am i right?
yyn1992 2 years ago
yes, that is right.
mastersniper13 2 years ago
is this worth getting ???
killerclown789 2 years ago
ummm no and yes... it depends on the cpu, AMD is more for gaming, i know this because of benchmarks my cousin did at a computer shot (BCOM) and AMD is better in gaming and communications, Intels better with music and HDD, this is avraging with AMD and Intel, and this does not include core i7
DarksideShuffle 2 years ago
If it wasn't for AMD there would be no 64-bit on your cute little intel processors. If it wasn't for AMD you would be paying $250 for a Pentium D. If it wasn't for AMD, intel would be playing monopoly with your head, moreso than right now.
One thing you obviously don't get is that AMD is about price for performance, not performance for price... Catch my drift?

are you going to do the overclocking video?

how does a AM3 cpu fit int am2 socket?
NoTaTtHiScHoOl 2 years ago
the am3 cpu has less pins than a standard am2+ cpu, but is the same size as an am2+ proc, therefore it fits inside an am2 or am3 board. however, an am3 motherboard cant take an am2+ cpu because there are more pins on the am2 processor.

oh ok, that makes sense thanks man

which cpu would be better I Currently have AM2 Amd 64 x2 5000+ im looking to upgrade to the amd3 cpu im looking between the phenom II x3 710 or phenom II x4 810? using a Biostar TA790GX 128mb motherboard.
PT3005 2 years ago
no matter what dont get the x3, its way slower than x4's and does even worse sometimes than dual cores according to benchmarks!
sssmeee 2 years ago
Cool to see some other AMD fans out there! Nice video too.
Sha1dov 2 years ago
I purchased Q8200 because of its mobo (which is g45) is cheaper then phenom's 790gx. And also u dont need upgrade your bios. u dont get a problem abouth compatibility. I must say that amd should decrease phenom810's price
TheHuNTERplus 2 years ago
but u dont need 790xg for phenom, u can have 780g or lower...

Rooseveltdunn 2 years ago
why? do you say that:D, i mean only on the first benchmark pall

jonsito7 2 years ago
Yeah, the i7 is like $1000 for the good one... Even I would probably buy it if it was worth $1500 for just the CPU and motherboard, but it's too expensive. I could save up for ages, I guess, but by then there'll be better stuff out. As I'm 14, I don't exactly have a huge source of income =]
The Phenom II is relatively cheap, you can apparantly get it for $190 (even though for me it's £170, which is like $250... not fair).

The joys of living in Europe - you get all the games late (if at all) and have to pay nearly twice as much! >:(
andy7666 2 years ago
Yeah... I know what you mean. The Americans make a film or game, it comes out first in America. Britain makes a flm or game, it comes out first in America. Anywhere else makes a film or game (except Japan), it comes out first in America. Only Japan get their own games first.

You're a faggot and your dad has glasses? What the hell?
If you're quite done being a complete imbecile, I'm not really going to bother dignifying any more idiotic remarks with a response.
And "I suck because I'm a faggot". Really.
Women suck penises, you don't call them faggots. Be more specific.
Don't reply to this, lest you make a complete fool out of yourself... again.
hiimchris06 2 years ago
Who's you're friend? No-one. Now fuck off.
hiimchris06 2 years ago
If you want performance from Intel get a Q9650 or something similar, those are pretty good. 12MB cache and stuff.
If you want AMD then get a Phenom II 940 BE.
hiimchris06 2 years ago
Way to be able to read.
No. It's a piece of paper, you degenerate scum.
hiimchris06 2 years ago
Nevergive, there's no problem liking Intel over AMD... it's all the people going "AMD ARE SHIT LOLOL" that gets on my nerves.
Anyway, I prefer AMD for a few reasons. Their marketing isn't down your throat, their products are quality and you get a far longer warranty for that reason. 3 year warranty on AMD products. Intel can't put shit to that, to be honest. Also, I think they're generally a far better company in terms of... not being arrogant arseholes.
Read: "I LOVE AMD I AM FANBOY LOLOLOL".
hiimchris06 2 years ago
You know intel only make their money because idiots like you turn into fanboys. "OH INTEL! Even if your next processor is a sausage I'll buy it!"
I don't hate intel by the way. I'm running the Q8200 right now, and I had a Celeron in one of my oldest PCs. I do prefer AMD alot though.
Why would intel fanboys be watching this anyway? Did you get confused between "Core i7 965" and "Phenom II 810"..?
Sure I watched a couple of Core i7 videos, but I don't hate intel, just prefer AMD...

AMD is back :p in summer they bring out some new phenom II CPU's who will beat the I7' s (the i7 920 and maybe the 940 at stock).
danobanana 2 years ago
should I get the 810 or the 720 for gaming?
leedime 2 years ago
Stock, the 810 probably a little bit better but if you want to overclock, the 720.

Thanks I got the 810 and I over clocked it to 3.2 stable and I haven't seen it hit 50 yet on top games

Oh dude, think you can tell me how to clean out my D:/ Recovery drive? It's really small (9 gigs) and only has 300 megs left. Since it's a partition, could I move its contents over to My C:/ Drive (170 Gigs)?
Rct3man777 2 years ago
Recovery drive is used for just that, recovery, it has your XP or Vista install on it and if your computer crapped out, you'd use it to restore.
iRacerMatt 2 years ago
Tell me, who's gonna spend 1600 bucks on an intel processor?
Rct3man777 2 years ago
lol so this processor could run fine on a cheap m2n x plus it runs 95wats maximum.40$ ahahaha this is funny.
mihaelmartinovic 2 years ago
no your not going to need cache this isn't an Intel CACHE hungry chip like Intel core 2 duo. you will need L3cache speed Increase for more performance. note Hyper transport speed can not be higher then Nb speed. you should be able to get it 2.8ghz.

That´s cool, but the "scores" on SiSoftware Sandra for the other ones were stock clocks, so it´s not really a fair comparison.
