this will forever be Shane's song. though it actually sounds like it's centuries old. the Young Dubliners' version will never compare and neither will any other cover, when he sings it, it hits in a completely different way. I also like the duet with Christy Moore, which can be found on youtube, probably because Shane stays in key the whole time. a true masterpiece, this one! oh, and it's The Popes, I reckon.
