well, we had kings and queens back then because we needed order and leaders (which i think anyone would agree got a bit out of hand) otherwise we'd be living like the we used to today. but nowadays the uk has other leaders just like every other country... i don't understand their need for the royal family, apart from tradition.

@Jcolinsol im not brittish but the king,queen is much more then some lame president and for the brittish it is so much more then just an office it is a part of brittish live and honor. i respect the queen of england and i think a monarcy with democradic law is the best way i visited england for a few months and it was awesome. long live Brittania, long live Scandinavia!!

That sounds awfully vague and wish-y-wash-y to me. Maybe a monarch fulfills some vague metaphysical concept of "live" and "honor" for you, but they are just primates, no different than anyone else, and I can't identify any reason that they deserve special treatment, or the kinds of unearned income they receive.

Your views seem pretty regressive, not unlike a white nationalist calling for a return to racial separatism.

@Jcolinsol Well i prefear a kingdom with democratic laws and if a king/queen brakes the law then they should be (how to put it?) fired and another one to take it's place. A monarch can do more then a pressident if they would have the same power. Now a days we have them just for show. Im not saying give them absalute power just the same as a pressident, maybe little more but they would have to follow the laws too. They can earn our love more if we let them.

It's strange that there is this thread, throughout history, of "blood drinking reptiles" associated with the ruling classes. The historical (rather than fictional) Dracula is a good example. I don't think that the "royal" families are interested in our love. They mainly seem to be interested in drinking our blood, for some reason.

Personally, I just prefer Anarchy, it's more straightforward, natural, functional, and honorable than any coercive political system.

@Jcolinsol I do not act like i know a lot about anarchy but many people relate anarchy to chaos. If you are willing to tell me about just the basic sistem of anarchy i would be honored. One man said once, religion is flawed but only because man is flawed. I think the same can be said when talking about goverment.

I don't believe in them, I just find the meme particularly interesting, because it's always been there, just on the edges of consciousness, present in every culture, and for no apparent reason.

There have been very long lived, and highly organized and functional, Anarchist societies in history. Why do you feel that Anarchy would be so disorderly that I would be "dead in hours"?

@Jcolinsol There has never been an anarchist society in history, anarchy is a myth because people band together and then there is always a strongman leader, in true anarchy someone would just slit your throat, and why not…there would be no repercussion. I read somewhere ages ago that the whole POINT of the Joust, wasn't as many think, to knock the other person off, but to actually break the end off your lance, and you got points for how many you got.

Forget where I read it though. Either way, imagine seeing all that work get shattered!

I actually kinda know how the lance maker must feel. I just finished making myself a viking round shield which took almost a week to make even with having a couple modern tools.

not to mention the chainmail that i've been working on for the past year just making from the wire.

I think on one show about armor I heard that there were many people working on these chainmail suits so it wouldn't surprise me that the lance makers would have had several workers doing several jobs as well. Of course that doesn't mean the jobs were any better.
