It runs great on Tri-Crossfire. I have a 4870X2 and a 4890 1GB Crossfired and the game runs flawlessly. It's pretty Shader intensive so it performs poorly on nVIDIA hardware (which is mainly geared to games with higher texture to shader ratios).

Well, I haven't played Ace Combat 6, I've only played the Ace Combats on the PS2, and they had more planes than HAWX, guaranteed.

I just find the Ace Combat series far better in terms of storyline and flying mechanics.

HAWX is far too 'arcady', with the 'Assistance Off' mode really making it just silly.

I know what you mean. The 30 mm GAU-8 Avenger cannon was never intended for any Air-to-Air. It's so damn powerful that it can slow the plane to a stall if a burst is sustained for too long. Not a good thing when it comes to dog fighting. The cannon would probably overheat anyway and cause parts to start melding together. It's meant to be fired in short 2 second bursts. One small squeeze will spew out about 60 bullets; plenty enough to kill a tank.

Yeah. It's a very optimized game. Runs like a charm on my old laptop with a Geforce Go 6600. 107 max FPS, 37 average FPS on the built in benchmarks. Settings are: 1280x800. Textures high. HDR off. Viewing distance medium. Environments medium. Engine heat on. DOF off. The game does run much faster than the benchmark since the benchmark has so many explosions and countless aircraft and stuff doing things. I normally get around 45-80 FPS when actually playing. Tested using FRAPS.

This trailer is nothing like the game. The game itself is so arcade like, it makes me want to pull my hair out. When you bank the aircraft to the left or right, the nose should dip. No realism, physics, runs slow at times, lame explosions etc. Don't waste your money.
