@TheWaitingRoomband as long as you don't touch/mod the catalytic converter you should be good with smog checks..some people actually mods the CAT, then whenever they go through a smog check they put the stock one on..it's a hassle though lol

sounds like a super 60 they have that real nice deep tone. I have used the super 60 on quad 4s and it beats the heck out of ricer mufflers more flow from a flow

Greddy made a catback system that look just like this, but it isn't in production anymore. (Check my vids to hear) and it sounds identical to this. My guess is that this isn't a Flowmaster its that Greddy Evo catback with a different tip. (Thats what was done to the Eclipse in my vids just there are no resonators and there are headers on the car).

Who knows I might be wrong though, just my 2 cents.

@philgunman usually an "exhaust system" is the whole exhaust, from cats to the tips (the mufflers, all the piping, and the tips). some even include the mid pipe, and some the headers. most ppl just get the cat-back system though, its much cheaper.

imo, i like just buying mufflers and tips of my own, its much cheaper and sounds no different

As long as its not a straight through muffler, any name brand one will sound good, every straight through one I have come across has had an obnoxious drone going down the highway. Cheaper mufflers are made out of thin metal so they all sound poor, I don't have experience with Greddy or invidia, but i know you can't go wrong with magnaflow or borla.

buy any cheap aftermarket muffler (non-canister non-N1 style), some aluminized steel piping from any auto parts store, a friend with a welder, and an afternoons worth of time. You can make something less restrictive and possibly better sounding for 1/3 the price. I recently did a friends 03' eclipse GT for $200 with a cat/resinator delete and a magnaflow muffler.

Do this and you will sound like a weed eater in hours, yes. Just because you have less back-pressure doesn't mean more power always, and you will loose torque as well. This sounds good, not like a ricer with a fart cannon, and V6's are hard to get with a good exhaust note, period. Leave it alone, I say, it sounds great as it is, almost like an NA MKIV Supra... Only, well, it's not ^_^

Yeah I got into a wreck, a minor one infact. I had a close friend inside the insurance company who was able to get my car "totaled." It wasn't my idea, but he got me 9800 for a 2001 Eclipse GT, MINT condition, 18" chrome wheels, and only 50k on the odo. So i upgraded BIG TIME, and it looks like you have too!!

well alot of things come into factor. like NEVER buy a car without checking the carfax. i can tell you from experience, trying to sell a car with a salvage title sucks! not to mention it almost cuts the value in half! also the mileage, normal wear and tear, etc... and i wouldnt look so much as trying to talk them down in price as maybe trying to get them to include a warranty of some kind. i would much rather not pay for mechanical problems than save a few bucks on the payments you know.
