  • 90 deg max Ull dry them out/dehydrate!

  • The top and middle is way to hot man. Find a way to regulate the habitat from 70-85f all around.

  • Also to get ur gecko to be less shy u can hold ur hand inside the tank with a bit of honey or baby food every day. He should start to associate ur hand with food and be more calm around u. Hope that helps!

  • U should keep a water dish at all times. Don't get rid of it. Theyll use it if they get dehydrated. And I don't think that bark will hurt it. The green part of their skin is the most sensitive. And obviously u kno to lower the temp. Good luck! =]

  • cool setup u shold get a turtle dock and put it up higher it works for basking realy well

  • it's a shame that you buy reptiles before you do your research on them first... you have a long way ahead if you before you can call yourself a herpetoculturist =p sorry

  • Your tank is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too hot. They are cooking! The hottest area shouldn't be more than 90.

  • hah your voice reminds me of that guy from Grandmas boy

  • Muuuuuuuuufuckaaaaaaaaaa u really fucked up on this one!!!!'n

  • u talk so wierd and loud cool

  • 120 is way to hottttt

  • think about that, in madagascar there is 15-25 C and rains 1200 mm a year so yeah...

  • dude his heat should be no lower than 70f and no higher than 90f and his humidity should be around 65% and if you think its okay keeping him at 120f then i hate to think what your feeding him and maybe next time you buy a reptile or any pet you should read up about it first...

  • Wtf? are you doing

  • hey man whens gecko gumbo served . Man that poor dude is cookin man!!!!!!!!! 90 max just to bask/ 80 ambien / 70 or so nite. cool hang 5 brotha .

  • ~Replace the moss with coir substrate

~remove the water dish and spray daily with water

~replace the heat lamp with a lower wattage bulb! the top of the tank should be 88-90F, middle 82-86F, and bottom mid 60Fs-high 70Fs.

~remove half of the clutter especially the central log. PM grandis prefer smooth bamboo

~make sure to feed your gecko gut loaded crickets every couple days *and* fruit baby food in a small plastic deli/condiment cup once a week . Use a vitamin supplement weekly

  • @smartalex1972 I have been considering getting a couple of day geckos. Do you know where large amounts of bamboo are sold?

  • @0YtsanBlowout0 You dont really need large amounts of bamboo, just a few pieces placed in the enclosure is enough. A good place to buy bamboo is at a craft store such as Michaels or AC Moore or even Wal Mart in the dried flowers and botanicals section. The bamboo usually comes in 4-6' lengths so you will need to saw it down to size with a hand saw. Hope that helps.

  • your terrarium is a bit too full of " crap " , they also need a lot more open spaces and I'm afraid the terrarium is also too small for this species

  • loool i cant stand a 100 degrees! can u emagin 20 more degrees!

  • lol I live in 120F heat

  • ikr thats so hot in there!!!!!!!

  • yes is that farenheight or celsius

  • wait did you say the basking spot was 120 degrees and the middle is 90 and the bottom is 85 cause dude that is way to hot for a giant day gecko

  • Thats a perfect set up, To make all of your lizards frendly. I.e if they bite. - Simply pick them up thumb under chin and 4 other fingers over the back of your lizarrd. And every day keep doing that. And stroke under chin. Soon they will gain your trust. I have 28 lizards all together and 12 snakes. If you need anymore info tell me. Im only 14 but it is simple when you know what your doing with reptiles.x Hope ive helped.

  • @itslucimay are you saying that 120 degrees is ok?

  • Well, f you want to breed them, you should get another habitat similar to the one that you have here. The reason being that your dominate male may be too much for his mate, and can give her really truamatic bites. It's very good, and meets all of the accomodation requiremnets. I'm sure you know all about their diet if you've had him for over a year.

  • he will be to big soon

  • how much was your day gecko? i want one of those or a leopard gecko, or a tokay gecko.

  • i am not sure if this if for all lizards or not but i was told that a uv balb should be on top cuz i guss it can hurt there eyes if that look at it for to long just like if you looked at the sun for to long

  • it's an idyllic setup for your specie and nice job with the decorations :D. i am probably going to post a vid of my own enclosure :)

  • damn that looks awsome!!!!!!! PERFECT SETUP!!!!!!

  • feed him baby food (fruit) or jelly for a treat or to bring up his immune sys.

  • Nice vid man, as far as i know its perfect :D
