  • @blackxavior

You are sadly mistaken. Islam does not encourage slavery, when Islam was first introduced slavery was common all over the world. But Islam was the only religion to give slaves rights and it is highly recommended to free slaves. Prophet Muhammad PBUH came in a time which his people had slaves and were very cruel towards slaves, so the information you are getting is incorrect and you need to learn more about Islam before you mislead yourself and others.

  • @bagepeeny arabs still have people as slave in sudan why is that if they dont encourage them

  • If your father is a prince and your mother is a slave you are not a slave, but of a lower social standing. A man does not enslave his own blood. Tuareg I believe used to be matrilineal before Islam so maybe in some individual cases this happens but i think the journalist should research that statement, i could be wrong in this case i dont think so. African men always had concubines, many great leaders came from concubine wives, these children are not considered slaves in the society.

  • which country is this,i didnt get it

  • @vlatislava

This is Niger, my own country,

  • they need more Islamic Knowledge.

  • god aint gona do jack shit abbout it. you can.

  • BEst thing I eva heard in mah life.

  • thats just awful, to think that something like that still exsists in the 21 century is just mind numbing. i feel so sorry for those poor women, and i hope the future will be better for them and their children.

  • Allah with you . good job help your sisters

  • Why are you calling upon Allah? It is his religion that facilitates this tragedy.

  • no it isnt, it's tribal practices and 'inherited' customs, not religion.

  • If slavery was strictly forbidden in Islam there would be not slaves in Niger would there? Muhammad had slaves and condoned the practice. As i said, "Islam reinforces and Facilitates slavery."

  • According to your logic slavery didn't exist in the Niger region before Islam reached there? There are many things that are explicitly forbidden in Islam that some Muslims don't follow, i.e. not drinking. I saw a few examples of gross violations of Islamic ethic in this video, and the fact is every time the Qur'an talks about slavery it encouraged freeing slaves. While there is no explicit text call for an end to slavery, all texts point to that direction, none reinforce.

  • I read the Koran and do not remember anything about freeing slaves. What surahs do you recommend? Slavery was practiced on a massive scale during the Islamic renaissance. That is the history that Niger is still living out today. Slavery is a part of the human condition so i don't now what your talking about in the first part.

  • "And such of your slaves as seek a writing (of emancipation), write it for them if ye are aware of aught of good in them, and bestow upon them of the wealth of Allah which He hath bestowed upon you."24:33

"Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Ascent is: (It is) to free a slave."90:13

Just a few examples, and the term "tahreeru raqabah" (free the slave) is repeated frequently in the Quran.

  • On Surah 24:33 you left out (to enable them to earn there freedom for a certain sum). This excerpt shows me Muhammad was on the slave owners side. But our right it does sort of advocate freeing slaves. Not exactly the emancipation proclamation.

90:13 is to vague at least in English to apply.

  • what are you talking about? Mr.blackxavior look at history

  • Go online get the text book for History of Western Civilization and enlighten yourself.

  • blackxavior you are not black--you are a white-boy

  • Who cares, i'm not stuck on race like you. Race was the last thing on my mind when i chose my name.
