  • Fuck the English cunts

  • Irish4life<3

  • 2:25 this photo was a meeting between an irish politic and brittish guards . look beside the politic and youll notice an extra pair of feet . this is countess markievics . she was cut out because she was a woman

  • England is almost as stuffed as we are. Do you know your Queen's royal wealth equals the total amount of government cuts inflicted on your people? James Connolly was right. HIs rising was against economic oppression. It goes on in both Britain and Ireland.

  • Connolly's revolution is unfinished. Stop the evictions of 2011 with people power. No guns required - just facebook.

  • Our sovereignty has been surrendered to the EU and the IMF, maybe someday we will break free from that Union and build a real republic, a republic free of rogue banksters or corrupt government,a government that serves the people and tells the truth and builds a strong autarky, that is not afraid to be a leading country in any type of sector and gives the best possible life to its citizens . The government nowadays won't make this happen and i'm afraid it might never happen...

  • great video !

  • @Henolegangsta Shut up do you have any idea what People in N.Ireland went through if you were catholic? They were treated like dirt and second class citizens by the Brit soldiers. If i lived in the troubles i would have joined the IRA aswell because Catholics tried getting their point across peacefully and you know what happend? Bloody sunday happend so yes sometime you have to use violence to get people who treat you badly out of a country that should be owned by the irish people.

  • Today's Sein Fein is prepared to sell our nation out. For just as traitors threw the door open to the stranger long ago, they are tryihg to throw the door open to absolutely every non-Irish person. And if you oppose them? Well then, they are trained to say ye are a racist.

  • Just want to raise a glass to the boys at mount street bridge. they did the damage that gave respect to the whole bloody rising. salute Michael Malone k.i.a. and Seamus Grace. and the other 15 lads that stopped a battalion. 200+ killed or wounded.

  • @ Henolegangsta: So it angers you that the IRA migh Re-form again, You get your act together before i kick your fucking arse! The only terrorists on the Isle Of Ireland is in fact the British! The IRA are in FACT Freedom fighters, Go and thak a walk of your cliffs of Dover ya fucking FANNY.

  • @57MALIC secrtartianism kills workers, the tories want to kill workers, therefore you are a tory who wants Ireland ruled from Rome with Priests abusing your sons. Not me, a Free Socialist Republic was what James Connelly died for and I live for. Guess you reject St Patric, Wolfe Tone & James Connelly as they weren't Irish catholics.

  • it angers me to here talk of IRA and bringing back terorisim. those crimes were not commited by all of us and all should not suffer! Ireland could not survive without england or britain and to speak of terorisim is treason! if ireland were invaded you wouold look to us yet now you speak badly of us which is expected. But what we need is peace for us to prosper not idiots with bombs. Ireland would be consumed by us if ever you tried anything be sure you would be put down like any threat

  • @LoxyFoxy09 haha, accept for britain for 700 years, and 1916 was another failed revolution just like the fenian, 1798 and all the other revolutions before it. we fought back yes, but just werent that good at it until 1920

  • @AuntySemitist 1916 triggered the war of independence when the leaders were executed by converting more Irish people to Republicism and increasing British Brutality in the country. It was a failed reveloution in military terms but not in the short term future of resistance to British Rule. The notion that were 'not that good at it' is also wrong because we are fairly good at it. All our reveloutions were blighted with bad luck and lacked orginisation but we are great at fighting. Never gave up.

  • i dont give a shit about wat the brits say about us irish i wud rather b irish than any other natationality. And no other country will own us

  • erin go braugh brother

  • @scallywag86 My friend, not to be rude but it's Éirinn go brách. If ever the language is to survive everyone needs to learn it correctly :D

  • @SolvingLife nuts, alright. Thank you for the correction

  • @LoxyFoxy09 that irish pride runs in our veins and no country can or ever change it.the history of ireland is so sad but that is what makes us,the irish,so strong and proud.no matter where we must live or how we must live always irish first.god bless you brother

  • It's a pity they all died for nothing. Our politicans with their loose morals and even deeper pockets. I wish us Irish were proud and we'd stop our so called politicans laughing up their sleeves at us. We owe the people who fought for our country in 1916 a hell of a lot more than we are doing now.

  • @fluxofpinkelephants they did not die for nothing.the strong and heartless brit response fired up the irish people to finally unite and fight aganist the british empire.its all history now

  • Great song, the video contained to many photographs of Michael Collins, who was not a major player in the uprising. The story of the Plunketts has so long been ignored by Irish historians. Thanks for posting. Long live the aspirations of the 1916 men and women.

  • Wonderful video.Thanks for posting

  • An unspeakable night of sorrow for the young Grace, and her fiancee JMPlunkett !

  • its called grace, de nada

  • frefe

  • Good pictures - fantastic background to Easter 1916 for those who are not Irish.

    More than a dispassionate observation.

    nana - Jakarta

  • the brittish history is dirt, nothing less or more, pure dirt, invader scum, greed made them what they were and what they still are should be ashamed of what they have done in the last few thousand yars

  • absolutely right, a chairde! Pure dirt!!

  • Shouldn`t that be English ...not british. Not only was Ireland invaded by the normans, but also Scotland and Wales. Then again, if you want to smear Cromwell with that brush, then remember, he was an english mercenary soldier, hired by certain dutchmen.... Consider too, the people of Scotland and Wales, do you think, given the current movements to independence that either are overly fond of the westminster tyrants. There are only two peoples on the planet, the rich and the poor.

  • Yes and England was invaded by the Normans which made hardly any racial impact on any of Britain.

  • The "racial impact" of the Norman conquests is insignificant, my point being all societies develop military and economic models for survival. The Norman model was one of continued war and expansion, which was itself then expanded by the government of London to become the British empire. The empire was not a charity set up to bring education and health services to the poor, but to exploit them, under military rule, to the profit of the throne, and its` cronies in banking and commerce.

  • By the way, the song is lovely......thanks for posting.

  • It may not have made a racial impact but the Normans had a great impact on England and surrounding countries. The Normans took over the land from the Anglo-saxon natives and there was a lot of repression to keep it that way. Anglo-saxon names were no longer to be found not long after the Norman invasion. The English ruling elite was Norman for hundreds of years and it was that same elite that invaded Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

  • @davery1234 Britain dragged no one from the dark ages, look at the empire the british once had, india, Bangladesh, Botswana, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Uganda, etc... bar a few acceptions most of the countries in the former british empire are some of the poorest in the world, the british stole their resourses and exploited people for their own ends.

  • PIRA WAR CRIMINALS

  • Seeing This I Realise How Lucky I Am To Be Irish

  • check out damien dempsey singing colony.

  • Ireland is not free; just a gravy train puppet of Brussels.

    No surrender for the North!

  • its abvious ireland is a long way off being a pluralist country, it appears fascism is the dominant mind set. debate is clearly not tolerated and anyone who has an opinion different to the republican propoganda is shouted down. thank god i live in british northern ireland where freedom really exists.

    Northern ireland is uk soil

    NO SURRENDER

  • No Surrender? , I think You'll Find and That Your Amazing DUP Has Surrendered Long Ago

There Will be a Free Ireland

    But Without the IRA's Help

    It Will be Political

  • your bloody right there will be an all Ireland!!!!! theres nothing but old men in the orange lorge and a few young bigots left as for britant they 1st bought in interment in sth Africa god their history shrinks go read up about it they ruled by the gun and torture.. you even made your own people suffer ..

  • whats " abvious" is you cant spell on any site you orange cur.freedom really exists in the north ? only for undemocratic curs like you , so fuck off and just enjoy republican sites without commenting , no one believes your bitter rants but we find you quite amusing in your ignorance, you cur.

  • there will be a united ireland the majority now want a free ireland so youll have to accept it and your more in danger if it keeps going on because the ira wont stop and i support the ira

  • Tate247 how dare you insult irish you pig

  • They did care .This wouldnt of hapened if stupid britain pissed off and left ireland alone

  • the brave men who fought at the somme were the true heroes of 1916, the vermin who rebeled in dublin were pathetic, they cared nothing for the will of the people who actualy wished to remain british. we in ulster shall never become part af an impoverished back-word country in the south. your whole country is a terrorist state witch give support to the ira and you all have blood on your hands. your lack of understanding of the events around this time is staggering,

    northern ireland is british

  • Shut the fuk up you prik.Northern Irealnd is irish.Get your grubby hands off.

  • excuse me.But I would listen to you insult ireland pig. They were pathetic oh my god.You deserve a box in the face

  • in that case why are you on this video

  • you british make me sick

  • with statments like irelands a terrorist country

  • no wonder people dont like you guys.Your obnoxious

  • Blood our hands ? This coming from somebody whos country plundered the world for how long ? And now it's "poor little defenseless Britain" is it ? You always cry when the people you occupied and opressed come back to bite you in the arse. What your government did less than 50 years ago to the people of Diego Garcia is under law a terrorist act. Pushing the ILLEGAL war in Iraq is a terrosit act. We might have extremist groups. But your whole history is awash with blood. Go suckle up to your queen

  • actualy i live in northern ireland and do u know something my ancestors were poor and suffered so dont talk rubbish about occupation or plundering. my point was that we the people who live in nrthern ireland are different from the rest of the island of ireland we are different historicaly, we have a different culture, music, heritage and identity and we wish to remain part of the uk. my key point any debate about this in the republic is shouted down because it is not a truly pluralist country.

  • then why do one of the majority parties in the North want to join the Republic?

  • You orange wanker, The North belongs to Ireland. It is one Island, one language and one nation. The Rebublicans will not rest until Ireland is free. All of Ireland was poor, all of Ireland has suffered greatly with the troubles. How are you different? The only thing I see is you bend over to the Queen of England...

  • Tate, my uncle faught and died in the battle of the Somme. He also came home to Mayo and blew up the barracks killing two dirty balck and tans. He NEVER wanted to remain Brittish. It doesn't take away the fact he was Brittish at the time, even tough he would have been happier dead. He had no fear of death because he would rather risk his life spilling the blood of an invader than do nothing and be content being a subject of the crown. NORTHERN IRELAND IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE IRISH!

  • i wonder what the men who fought and died for our country would make of the liein ,cheating, skum who control our nation now..

  • now now be nice to our ex-nazi friend

  • what is the official time that must pass before we stop discussing events.you better tell the pope jesus died over 90 years ago.

  • 250,000 volunteered,or took a dirty schilling.i never said they were all lock out men.

  • hey marwillgib the irish troops in france were made up of a lot of men who were black listed for work after being on strike during the lockout of 13/14 ,if you didnt know that then you are sadly misinformed and uneducated

  • Disagree with you there marwillgib. I have a lot of respect for the Irishmen who fought in the First World War. They genuinely believed they were fighting in the interests of Ireland. However what did Ireland ever get as a part of the United Kingdom? We were an economic backwater for hundreds of years because we were treated as the Empire's granary, particularly during the Famine when Irish people starved to death despite food being exported from the country to feed the British Army

  • cowards when the good men of ireland were dieing in france these thugs took a chance when no one had the heart to fight them, what did they achieve 100 years of poverty till europe pulled them out now the money has stoped its back to normal, still GB money keeping yas going

  • maths a problem to you? 100 years, its not been a 100 yrs yet since 1916 and Ireland has been the strongest economy in EU for the last 10 or so, so wheres the 100 yr of poverty

     gobshite?

  • i could spend the rest of my life in poverty or riches but i give thanks that i will spend it the green whit and orange and not the union jack

  • My family were part of the Rebellion. One, Murphy from Cork, was hanged by black and tans. Can I find names of those executed? Do any Murphys in Cork know? A letter about it was sent from cousins in Cork to my family who had migrated to Canada earlier. The letter is lost. My Grandfather's name was possibly John or Dennis Murphy and his wife, Margaret Costello from Carlow. We then migrated from CA to US. Story is our relatives hid from the black and tans under floorboards of their barn.

  • i was in the courtyard a few days ago where the martyr's themselves were shot dead..in not exucution but cold blood...james connolly tied to a chair and blindfolded...plunkett..etc...its really emotional when you stand there..in the place where these men died for your freedom....it was a complex situation teh 1916 rising...lasted only a week..they all knew it would fail...and pearse said himself it was a blood sacrifice..to create martyr's for ireland..to show the riish...fight for freedom!!!!!!

  • Well, we Brits are still there!!

  • there? thats not true at all, the rebellion took place in what we now know as'THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND' and the brits are not here.

  • My comment was written after reading a few of the 1916 posts (on this and other videos) which seem to be dewey eyed about what happened in 1916. The reality was far more complex - what about the Irish, Catholic R.I.C. men killed by the I.R.A? What about the protestant Irish killed after the ceasefire? That said, I probably should not have posted without thinking - apologies for any offence caused.

  • These men should be constantly celebrated. I wonder what they would think of modern Ireland today?

  • they could of done better than to take a post ofice and biscuit factory come on the IRB had planned it bad but if it never happend we would be british

  • is this song about joseph plunkett..?

im not sure if its that name but the storyt with his wife and him being in kilmanem and he was getting executed but he wanted to get married so he did and then... ya get the point..! lol

  • lovely tribute.

  • nice video

  • If the German battleship the Aud wasnt captured the 1916 would have had a better chance of succeding

  • The Aud was a steamer not a battleship, disguised as Norwegian shipping! (Lets not distort history please) And if Spindler had of flown the bloody pilot flag for Murt OLeary to pilot her into Fenit she would not have been captured! Trust the Germans to be 2 days bloody early! Anyway, according to Monteith the weapons were virtually useless it was a con!

  • I know the Aud arrived early, they burned the ship so the weapons would not fall into the hands of the British. Free The NORTH!

  • Blimey here we go again - She was "scuttled" by Spindler not burnt, using explosives: She was originally the SS Castro an English ship not German but had stolen the name Aud from a similar looking Norwegian ship hence her papers - The arms were of no use to the British whatsoever anyway as they were outdated Russian arms and not German:

  • I never said the weapons were German I said they were sent by the Germans, and personally I think that with the first World War going on the British would have used whatever they could find.

  • where the hell are you getting your facts from DJScread>are you making this up as you go along>germans burning their own battle ships off the cost>whatever next?>what you think personally dont change history!!>its facts we want

  • would it not have been better to have to ship destroyed that to have it fall into the hands of the British? Think logical

  • Have you ever read Robert Fisks book on Ireland during the first world war ? I can't remember the name of it off hand but if you're interested you can find it easy enough.

  • Michael Collins really came into his own as a leader during his imprisonment after the rising. For me the saddest part of Irish history is how the government under Dev turned on his former comrades and adversaries once FF joined the government. I guess I have a particular problem with betrayal - though I have come to the conclusion that Dev was only ever in any of it for his own end.

  • as they knew it was more a suicide mission but they made that choice for our future and the goverment repay them for giving there lives by accepted 26 descrace and for those who fight on now have been somehow been called terrorists for fighting for our nation does anyone understand this

IRA irish republican army fighting for the irish and some how there outlaws how the fuk can this be anyone that accepts the 26 more or less has no respect for those who layed down there lives for our nation

  • they knew the 1916 rising wouldn't work....but they knew that it would inspire others to sacrafice their lives for the good of Ireland!

  • it makes me sad

    but u soud make more

have u be there in the jail i have lol julieanne9999

  • michael collins was the hero out the seven

  • Ireland will never be the same since 1916!!!!!!

  • tiocfaidh ar la,,

Ireland unfree shall never be at peace..P.H.PEARSE

  • Ya dont get it tho we fought for so long for our OWN 32 county democratic republic, that finally when peace terms were made in 1921, we didnt have our own country we had part of our own country and the fighting kept going on including a fuckin civil war, they would not be happy to see what Ireland has.Ireland WILL be free politically or of force we WILL sack the will of the brit scum in OUR country, and fuck what the orange traitors have to say about it.

    TIOCFAIDH AR LA

  • I disagree with part of what you say, as there can NEVER be a free 32 County DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST Republic without engaging with the Unionist minority.

Otherwise we would be going backwards, treating Unionist as the Catholics were treated in the North or as the Palestinians are treated in Palestine. Republicans must rise about petty differences and follow the word of Wolfe Tone, a Protestant, while seeking our freedom.

  • IDIOT....

  • James connolly was fighting for socailism even communism (which would have unified the country) its time to get fianna fail out of power they paid paisley. evil can be bought hero's cant

  • I dont think you understand. They would not be disgraced they would be happy to see that after such progress and restaint relations between the two islands have improved dramaticaly. There is no point in holding a grudge yes our hereos should be remembered in their era but i am happy to c such a friendly atmosphere and progress between the 2. however i would be the first ine to join the IRA if was to all happen again, but it is over and the north will be long term fought through polotics.

  • Ones wonders whta they would make of our country today with kids wearing British teams tops like liverpool, celtic, man u and that.Very sad indeed. But not everyones follow british clubs so there is still hope RIP fallen heroes

  • i dont understand why Michael Collins is at the start of this video . The song is about Joseph Plunkett , a member of the Provsional Government , and his marriage to Grace Gifford .

For the record Michael Collins never fired a shot during 1916 . He spent the entire week in the basement of the GPO with Des Fitzgrald complaining he had a sore hand and was unable to fight .

  • Id like to see some evidence supporting that claim.

  • des fitzgerald was a member of the volunteers in the gpo . he was the father of Garret Fitzgerald a former Irish prime minister . Des fitzgerald was a supporter of collins but spoke openly about what happened in the GPO .However if you have historical evidence from anywhere at all that claims michael collins took part in any fighting anywhere please feel free to show it to us . Please point us to it . the fact is the only time he fired a gun in anger was the day he was killed . an amateur gunman

  • Maybe an amateur gunman, but he was a brilliant organiser and trainer and done a lot for his country and deserves a lot more respect than the tone of your comment allows him.

  • Yep. I am an Englishman, been to the prison, the cell and the yard. Nothing to be proud of regards Ireland. I WISH THINGS WERE DIFFERENT.

  • It's all in the past buddy! I LOVE YOU MAN! (lets hate the germans and french together!)

  • This song always makes me cry! Wedding in the jail, before the execution :(.

  • We declare the right of the people of ireland to the ownership of ireland, and to the unfrettered control of Irish destinies to be sovereign and indefeasible.....PADRAIG PEARSE.

  • Damn Right!!! Nobody vote for this piece of sh*t lisbon treaty. Ireland to remain sovereign!

  • Shut up you stupid little pr*ck! You English should have stayed in their own country! Up the RA!

  • bitter?

cos after the irish uprising that was the beginning of the end for their so called empire... never recovered, britain needed hand out after hend out after that...as they crumbled countrys like the U.S germany, Russia took over

  • Boring, im not intrested in an Empire or an irish uprising. I live in Northern Ireland born and raised a loyal Ulsterman and British citizen with a culture and heritage i love. So fuck our history lessons about a foreign land.

  • Sorry bud, but you were born on the island of Ireland, you're Irish the same way someone born in Wales is Welsh.

Take pride in being from a country with such an amazing and interesting culture and heritage that we have.

  • fuck you you biggit if you love england fuck off there and kiss the queens arse i hope the ira fucking kill you pog mo hon

  • Ha ha, another highly sophisticated comment from what sounds like another Youtube keyboard, terrorist wannabe. IRA kill me? Grow up, Havent you realised they all pro British Ulster now. Guess money talks. England? Naw never been, this part of Britian is good enough for me.

  • no you're a scottish immigrant living in northern ireland.... and no you are not a "brittish citizen" i am...you are a u.k citizen look at your passport

the war is over why dont you go home

i'm sure airdrie misses your stench

  • You sad like a sad, bitter wee child. The war is over, and the union is safe. Eire removed its illegal claim on Ulster, the IRA stood down, SF accepted Northern Ireland is part of Britian, and took jobs working in a British ran government. British by birth, Ulstermen by the grace of God. Now explain how we lost.

  • no you are NOT a british citizen ok.... i am

you are a U.K citizen your province is part of the U.K not great britian... britain is an island ulster is not part of that island... do you even own a passport? it will tell you on it...on the the fucking front page

and to explain why you lost an "ex" ira member is power sharing in your province... imagine that 40 years ago? could you? i'd say sf have come a long way, i mean a catholic couldnt even get a job 40 years ago, now they share power

  • Just ask a republican to check his jiro money an you will see the Queens head. You need to stop listening to your sad one sided view of history and move on. IRA? Those loosers surrendered so SF could crawl into a British ran government, finally accepting democracy that the people of Ulster wish to be British. Get over it.

  • if you want to be british why dont you n your family move back to airdrie?

you are not british... see me i am british i was born on the island of great britain.... you werent!!!!! your ansestors immigrated 100s of year ago and settled in ireland you come from a different island all together... do you have a passport? and can you read?

am i getting thru to your spasticated hun brain at all?

  • Your obviously not that clever. You see the 6 counties of Northern Ireland aka Ulster are ruled from Britian, this makes those who live in them British citizens. My ansestors may have moved here, but are you the sorta looser who thinks the Americans shud give their land back to the indians? My passport is a British one if u must know. And i wud never want to be English. British by birth, Ulsterman by the grace of God.

  • your bang on there ulster is ruled by britain but it is not part of britain never has and never will...its geographically impossible...ulster is part of the u.k but not britain

your family fled britain probably from lanarkshire to settle for a better life in ireland 100s of years ago that i'm afraid is the closest you'll be to being "british"

    deal wi it

and the word ulster and god just dont seem right together in a sentence...so please spare us your fony religeon bullshit.

  • My culture is probly the greatest in the world. Loyalty and a colourful culture united in brotherhood and tradition. Oh yea and the greatest football supporters in the world. Frankly to be honest your opinion means nothing to me, so you really should get a life. NO SURRENDER.

  • omg how deluded are you? you arent even a fuckin country?

and what kind of great culture and great football fans, robb chemists, mug people in the street, your women fans urinating in the streets... you are filthy theiving junkie common as muck scum.... ask manchester, barcalona, and everywhere else that has had the misfortune of your presense

not to mention the fact that you through urine and pipe bombs at five year old school girls on there way to school

    SCUM OF THE FUCKIN EARTH

  • I think your delluded, coz you need to check your map. Its called Northern Ireland. Even SF have accepted it. And come on, do you really think your opinion matters to anyone in Northern Ireland? So get back to me if they ever acheive their wee united ireland or world domination or whatever their wee farce coz is. Ha ha, bye looser.

  • It is actuall till the people of the 6 counties have a vote on when they want to become part of the Republic. You dont know much as ireland would still have a claim on Ulster even without NI as not all of Ulster is NI look at a map there is a place called Donegal.

  • I salute every republican vid on you tube, an the lands that has never run free,,,,T.A.L.,,,only our rivers run free,, We will never fight the war against oil, ,leave our land be , and stop refuelling at shannon, to bomb people, you ave our message , so stop the bloody war.

  • ha i wish,, bobby is a hero r.i.p bobby sands

  • and what would b wrong with joining the army you fool ??

  • because the army murdered his family member

  • he wants 2 join the british army r the irish army ??

  • the british army

  • My friend at school is the great grandson of Thomas Macdonnagh, the leader of the second batallion of the Irish Volunteers. He even signed the proclamation. But this kid wants to join the army. Fucking disgrace!

  • Great vid!! *****

  • We declare the right of the people of ireland to the ownership of ireland, and to the unfettered control of Irish destinies to be sovereign and indefeasible,. P.H Pearse.

  • happy Easter onday everyone. here's looking forward to this day in 8 years time.

  • i visited kilmainhaim jail last tuesday.

i would urge all people ignorant of the suffering that was caused by the british occupation to pay the place a visit.

very, very emotional & indeed, educational.

  • I just got back from Dublin...been a great admirer of Grace and Joe's love story as it tied into the uprising. My young man actually arranged a bit of a pause during the tour to sing Grace in the chapel where they wed.

On a bit of a disturbing note, Grace Gifford was jailed by Michael Collins in 1923, as she did not support methodology...

  • methodolgy? please tell me more,I love these old stories, check out the clip IRISH CITIZEN ARMY-and WOMEN IN THE EASTER RISING-talk about emotion!

  • Let me clarify...Mick was dead when Grace was jailed in 1923; however she voiceiferous debated the continued violence (Michael Collins death served to quell some of the strife between those that demanded total unification at any cost.) Collins was a warrior, not a polititian...many believed that he should have never agreed to partitioning N.Ireland. particularly Eamon DeValera...Grace believed enough was enough and political discourse not violence would suffice

  • theres a very good play done on the easter rising called "transition year michael collins"
