@10thdim everytime i try to imagine myself in the 10th dimension but i get headaches for hours !! i understand the video, but it's such an enormously big thought that it hurts
let's assume you are right that there might be other possible universe with other physical law. which research has not experimentally proven... If when you enter the ten dimension, it become a single point. A point does not make up a dimension, only a line does. According to you, all the physic law of all possible case can be totally and completely express by 9 dimension. Then should it not be in the 9th dimension rather than 10?
@mxeric1 people who are smarter then you worked on this. Scientists worked on this. You know nothing. Maybe you should stop throwing around foul words and actually humble yourself for once. You're not as smart as you think you are.
But they can't be contained in the tenth dimension, because the tenth dimension, being a dimension itself, would have to be contained within a space/dimension.
Very clever. But it seems your Latin is as bad as your Cosmology.
Universe DOES NOT come from "UNI" and "VERSE" smashed together. "A single spoken word" does less than nothing to describe the universe. Instead the word universe comes from the Latin "Universum", which is broken into "uni" (one), and Versum, which means rotation or change. A non-literal translation would be "The one that is ever changing"
@OzModIaZ Wow, what's with the hostility? I wasn't revealing ANYTHING about any of my beliefs, I was just being a smart mouth. I obviously knew that what I said was not in the context of what you originally said, I was simply poking fun at an obvious joke. BTW, sorry for not being a walking latin dictionary, as if you didn't google your response. ;)
The idea of multiple universes does much to help explain dark matter, the apparent "weak" hold of gravity when compared with strong nuclear force, and is a necessary and integral component of M-Theory. The seperate infinities are each contained within their own D-Branes and therefore, each has it's own unique series of events. But I get what you're saying... "all these d-branes exists where??... A larger infinite universe I suppose, which in itself is another universe.
Though what you're saying is true, it seems as though your limiting your definition of infinity to describing only one universe. Though it will be sometime before any of us know the absolute truth, strong evidence is building in the scientific community that supports the idea of a multiverse.
No what im saying is that if every possible outcome (so an infinite amount of different outcomes) of the universe existed in the 7th dimension (like what was said in the video) then an infinite amount of other different universes would aslo exist in the 7th dimension. Therefore there would be no need for any other dimensions or if there were more dimensions they would also exist in the 7th dimension.
So we moved from a dot, to shapes, to time, to time travel, to the universe, to infinity, to the thing that Sheldon talks about in the Big Bang Theory. I think I may have just done 3 years of school.
Think about it if every possible outcome of the universe existed in the 7th dimension there would be no need for another dimension or any other dimension would be a part of the 7th.
If there were other completely different infinity's that doesn't make sense that's contradictory to its self. A better explanation is that a separate infinity isn't separate it just exist in the same infinity as the first one. Meaning its just another possible outcome of the 7th dimension.
@mxeric1 It's important to remember that one infinity can be a subset of another but both can be infinite. For instance, if you were to start counting 0,1,2,3... and so on, you're heading towards infinity. If you count 0,2,4,6... you're also heading towards infinity. Is one a subset of the other? You bet! Is one bigger than the other? No, because they're both infinite, and infinity is not a number.
Have you watched my new video Imagining the Seventh Dimension yet? watch?v=2FWRndF01xI
Ok i get that. But im not saying one is bigger than the other. Ill use your example to explain what im trying to say. So you can use 0,1,2,3...and so on to get to infinity you can also use 0,2,4,6 to get to infinity. But what im saying is that there's an infinite amount of different ways you can use numbers to get to infinity.
And yeah i checked out your video about the seventh dimension i liked it but i still have my doubt about there being more than seven dimensions.
Believe me ive done plenty of research and real world research (aka research other than just looking stuff up on the internet) on string and im not saying im right im just saying for there to be more dimensions doesn't sound right.
So the tenth dimension might be the end of existance. The last thing to explore. If so. How can there be infinite universes in a relm/ dimension that ends? Thats like fitting an infinite amount of sugar in a coffe mug. There has to be more dimensions.
There is nowhere left to go after the tenth dimension simply because we have observed no phenomena beyond that dimension. But, it is however possible that there is another point creating an eleventh dimension, but to even consider that possibility there would have to be some new phenomena not yet observed or understood to indicate something beyond the 10th dimension.
So then in theory if all possible timelines in all possible universe in all possibility can be represented as a point.... What if there is a different set of all possibility that exists. Join them with a line and add a third line branching off of it. Bend the line through what we call the "12 dimension" and you can travel through multiple infinities of infinities into a another 10 dimensions. Now we have a loop. We have the 1st dimension, a point. The 10th dimension, a point. And then in theory

@LaurieDrewMovies your on the right track... its more like forever expanding, contracting but expanding and contracting in opposite ways at the same time... if that makes any sense O.o lifes a paradox man haha
What. Nothing can physically reside in the 10th dimension because dimensions aren't real they are just conceptions. There's the physical world which we divided into four categories width height and depth and then movement (which is mislabeled as time). We made up this idea of a time and then decided it was a REAL dimension of our universe (not just a conceptual form of measurement like it is) and all dimensions after time are made up in a similar way. Logic isn't physical reality. This is wack
@vista777 mate these dimensions are all around you... but your body can only go into the 3rd... we will never understand a fraction that is so big it would take up way over the character limit, out everything thats out there and going to be out there
@florianizer the 4th dimension is time...the dimension where thoughts can exist. Maybe they're just more aware...like you possibly should be when replying to something that challenges thinking outside of that three dimensional box.
So the 5th and 6th dimension is pretty much anything and everything has and will have happend in a persons life....My question is...is it a possibility that in the 10 Dimensions that certain events will not happened...Like let say in all of the 10 dimensions Person A will never Meet Person B for any reason
@gamemaniac85 no because its all possibilities meaning if u "get to" the 10th dimension everything will have happened. if person A never met person B then we wouldnt be talking about the 10th dimension because not every possibility has happened
i think person a and b would have met by the crossing the 5th ,6th or 7th dimension
@gamemaniac85 and i think after 5th and 6th its anything that can happen not anything that just will happen to a person its everything i dont think u understand the 4-7
before you try and understanding the 10th dimension u need a understanding of the previous dimensions
@123herberti i think it means parallel universes come in after the 7th dimension(he talks about putting all those possibilities into a single point) meaning whatever starting the universe is different than the start or our universe like planet of the apes the original shows people traveling thru the 4th dimension and at the end of the remake you are made to believe they traveled thru the 7th a parallel dimension would have came in after the 5th i believe
Try to connect this information with mind processes how _our_ mind works on dimensional levels. Every process has its own dimensional level and we can reduce or increase the mental thinking processes trough visualization and understanding. Thinking things 2D is more like black and white thinking. There's then only yes and no. Negative and positive alternatives of thinking process. There is more than than that. Please do not reduce your level of thinking!
It also makes a claim that of this somehow has to do with String Theory, when string theory usually deals more with microdimentions, and some versions have as many from 11 to 22 dimentions. But this video prefers to stick to the catch Tenth Dimention idea. If all universes were like a dot, without dimention, than nothing would have dimention. And if nothing has dimention, then why even write a book about the Tenth Dimention? This line of thinking defuses itself.
It's view of Quantom Physics is also skewed, making the assumption it is really our perception that determines particals. And, on top of that, assumes that if it's true of microscopic particals, it must also be true of large-scale humans. If the rules of Quantum Physics attributed to large-scale things, we'd have people walking threw solid walls everyday.
Also, he says we can get other branches in the universe, because of decisions we make. Are you going to turn off your computer tonight, or go on a child-killing raid? I'm guessing your goin to turn off your computer, because you have a reason to turn of your computer. People make decisions for a reason, so there's no chance they'll randomly become billionaires, or anything else, regardless.
In fact, the idea of dimentions may simply be names we attribute to reality. Yeah, I know some people will say the point on a needle has zero dimentions, but that is also illogical: a needle is made up of particals, which have a good deal of dimention. Furthermore, there is more evidence that time is a perception strongly regulated in the brain, rather than a forth dimention. And dimentions like the fifth one are simply menipulations of previous dimentions, rather than new ones.
This has various falacies, has lack of evidence, a poor understanding of quantom physics, and is simply, well, only imagining. When going to the forth dimention, it asks to imagine it as a point (in other words, zero dimentions). Meaning, it's saying the forth dimention is like having zero dimentions (which is like saying the number 4 is like the number 0, in my opinion). Furthermore, it makes the asumption that 0,1, and 2 dimentions can actually exist, and is more than simply a concept.
@Darklordabc I dunno about anyone else, but whenever I look at those statistics, I only see them for males, and that's why I said "reputable" source, youtube's video Statistics are rubbish, and anyone who forms a serious opinion based on them is pretty foolish. Just a humble opinion
@devileye669 The statistics are based on information provided by user accounts that view the video. They are as accurate as user provided data can be.
So, does the tenth dimension loop back to zero? If everything can happen an infinite upon infinite number of times, the only thing you have to go back to is nothing.
@HectagramTv My English teacher a year ago did a "disappearing act" in the 2d dimension. He layed down a rope and stood at one end of the rope. (the rope indicated the 2nd dimension) then he moved to the side, and walked over to the other end of the rope and stood there. While he moved to the side, he would have disappeared from the perspective of the flatlander, although to us, observing the act in the 3rd dimension, could see he was simply walking about in more then one plane.
im so sorry some people are so silly. it takes a very strong mind to accept this, much less understand. i am a physics major, so this fascinates me very much.so much that i have devoted my life to learn it. couldnt one go as far to say, that in other dimensions, higher than or equal the fifth, that consciousness is all that is left at that point? or is everything left? or is the notion of my thought and after thought that one conscious already knew i was going to say because i had already saidit
@wbstyle14 Agreed. If you haven't watched this video as many times as those who basically already have the whole narration memorized and are looking for new ideas, then turn the text boxes off if they annoy you.
@10thdim The eleventh dimension would be the idea of it being no such thing of a universe which would be the idea of negative space. Therefore, the eleventh dimension would be nothing. That is the road block you are hitting because you cannot have a collection of nothing.~ 11 yrs. old
the 10th dimension is fake as it has no direction. And if you want to count a dot as a dimension there should be 13 dimensions, having a dot for shape, time and eternity. And a dot for everything possible
@PCgam3r14 I actually found out the 0 dimension is a dot and look --> 0:34 it's a line really. But even so, there has to be a dot version of dimension 3 and a dot version of dimension 6 else a dot version of dimension 9 would be weird in my opinion. I like to threat a counter, in this case a counter for dimension with the same rules over and over. So i'm thinking of dot - line - split - fold over and over again. But apparantly that's not the way it works.
@Turboviiper Look up "point-line-plane postulate" for another way of thinking about this same repeating line-branch-fold pattern, which can be used to visualize any number of spatial dimensions.
@makcheekan That's ok... try to tell a 2d drawing (let's just suppose it can think) what 'depth' is... it wouldn't understand. We are 3d, we don't have to understand higher dimensions at all. If we sould, we would have been created it a higher one... :) so we can make hypothesises, but we won't ever be able to PROVE them. Although it's fun and interesting to learn about.
but if the string theory says that all of the universes in the 10th dimention are made up of atomic particles, then another point in the 10th dimention could be all the posibilities of all the universes that mare made of of ther stange things that are not matter or anti matter. Therefore I say that there are infinite dimentions that that we would only be able to image 10 becuase we don't know anything apart from what we live in.
i guess everyone is just gonna ignore the very valid argument I posted 2days ago. renaming the 3rd dimension whichever way u want to, still leaves it being the original 3rd dimension science calls it.
The highest dimension would be "all possible timelines of all possible universed and all impossible timelines of all universes that could impossibly exist". Haha, just kidding.
I can't hurdle this 1 huge flaw in your theory.... @ 2:20, rolling the 2dimensional plane to make the end match up,,, you are introducing the 3rd dimension, adding 1 layer if u will. think of stepping on the roll, though u can crease the fold, you can't deny the fact you just doubled your height. you just went from a single pixel, to 2pixels. ... i can't focus on the rest of the vid, sry.
I really enjoyed this video, but I was irritated by the text boxes. Perhaps I'm not smart enough to listen and watch a discussion of a complex subject while at the same time read additional material, but I suspect much of your audience isn't, either.
@katpol2007 Exactly, the annotations are only there for people who are already very familiar with the animation (and no question, there are people out there who have have watched this video dozens and dozens of times). If you're not one of those people, one of the very first boxes that comes up tells you how to turn the annotation boxes off.
@10thdim This was a very good video, I somewhat understood it, I'm only 15 the only reason I watched this was because I heard about the 10th dimension in a Japanese anime and wanted to learn about it to understand the anime more, one question So if we see 4th dimensional beings as a cross section of the 3rd, does that mean there are 4-D beings looking at us like how we see 2-D objects, I don't know how to explain what I'm asking that well sorry.
@zachu95 We are actually living in the 5th dimension, that is, a point of potential existence moving down a 4th dimensional line that contains 3D objects. Imagine a statue. Its form is 3D. Its lifespan (use a living thing if you can't wrap your head around how long a statue could last) is 4D. Its placement and potential form as a result of outside forces/decay/etc. is 5D.
so the 4th dimension can basically be know as the spirtual world because how can 4D being have an age etc if its birth and death is at its current time..so that mean that its a light being..so when we die we go to the 4d and many other things connect to this as well
of understanding than reason is and do all laws of nature work like this in a way that is impossible to understand unless u exist in a dimension of understanding where it is possible to imagine such forces that create our world.
its just a little something i think about time to time sorry for the long comments T_T
that effects people in a way that is inconceivable to our limited 3 dimensional understanding of everything so like forces that we see the product of it but cant physically define are forces with in higher dimensions that we can not understand so like reason is a force that is determined by ones perspective right does that mean that reason is a force that created by a force of perspective and if so does that mean that perspective is a force with in a higher dimension
dont laugh at me but it is it possible that any force with in the third dimension that cant be physically defined it terms of matter such as gravity quality reason ...etc can be a physical force with in a different dimension above that just has like a ripple effect with in our own dimmension and that is what we see like for example quality we see the product of it we can tell what is and what isnt but effects everyone differently does this mean that quality is a force with in a higher dimension

@HorenziAndTheAlps there's nothing to buy into its a lecture on understanding the 10th dimension
he is explaining the 10th dimension and to understand the 10th dimension you need to have an understanding of the previous dimensions
...what did you think he was trying to do? make a time machine?

It's view of Quantom Physics is also skewed, making the assumption it is really our perception that determines particals. And, on top of that, assumes that if it's true of microscopic particals, it must also be true of large-scale humans. If the rules of Quantum Physics attributed to large-scale things, we'd have people walking threw solid walls everyday.
HorenziAndTheAlps 2 months ago
Also, he says we can get other branches in the universe, because of decisions we make. Are you going to turn off your computer tonight, or go on a child-killing raid? I'm guessing your goin to turn off your computer, because you have a reason to turn of your computer. People make decisions for a reason, so there's no chance they'll randomly become billionaires, or anything else, regardless.
HorenziAndTheAlps 2 months ago
In fact, the idea of dimentions may simply be names we attribute to reality. Yeah, I know some people will say the point on a needle has zero dimentions, but that is also illogical: a needle is made up of particals, which have a good deal of dimention. Furthermore, there is more evidence that time is a perception strongly regulated in the brain, rather than a forth dimention. And dimentions like the fifth one are simply menipulations of previous dimentions, rather than new ones.
HorenziAndTheAlps 2 months ago
This has various falacies, has lack of evidence, a poor understanding of quantom physics, and is simply, well, only imagining. When going to the forth dimention, it asks to imagine it as a point (in other words, zero dimentions). Meaning, it's saying the forth dimention is like having zero dimentions (which is like saying the number 4 is like the number 0, in my opinion). Furthermore, it makes the asumption that 0,1, and 2 dimentions can actually exist, and is more than simply a concept.

3 dimensions of shape
3 dimensions of time
3 dimensions of eternity
the 10th dimension is fake as it has no direction. And if you want to count a dot as a dimension there should be 13 dimensions, having a dot for shape, time and eternity. And a dot for everything possible
Turboviiper 4 months ago
basically the 10th dimension is a lie else the first dimension would be a dot.. a line is what it makes a dimension right?
Turboviiper 4 months ago
@Turboviiper The first dimension IS a dot, 2nd dimension is length+width, 3rd is depth.
PCgam3r14 4 months ago
@PCgam3r14 I actually found out the 0 dimension is a dot and look --> 0:34 it's a line really. But even so, there has to be a dot version of dimension 3 and a dot version of dimension 6 else a dot version of dimension 9 would be weird in my opinion. I like to threat a counter, in this case a counter for dimension with the same rules over and over. So i'm thinking of dot - line - split - fold over and over again. But apparantly that's not the way it works.
Turboviiper 3 months ago
@Turboviiper Look up "point-line-plane postulate" for another way of thinking about this same repeating line-branch-fold pattern, which can be used to visualize any number of spatial dimensions.

makcheekan 4 months ago
@makcheekan That's ok... try to tell a 2d drawing (let's just suppose it can think) what 'depth' is... it wouldn't understand. We are 3d, we don't have to understand higher dimensions at all. If we sould, we would have been created it a higher one... :) so we can make hypothesises, but we won't ever be able to PROVE them. Although it's fun and interesting to learn about.
doringeniko 4 months ago
but if the string theory says that all of the universes in the 10th dimention are made up of atomic particles, then another point in the 10th dimention could be all the posibilities of all the universes that mare made of of ther stange things that are not matter or anti matter. Therefore I say that there are infinite dimentions that that we would only be able to image 10 becuase we don't know anything apart from what we live in.

brainfood4thought 5 months ago
wouldn't a 11th dimension then be...reality with different kind of dimensions?
Imagine if here is a "world" where there are 4 basic dimensions, and time would start at the fith one.
Then the 12th dimension would be, where all possible dimension alternatives are.
Kibate 5 months ago
The highest dimension would be "all possible timelines of all possible universed and all impossible timelines of all universes that could impossibly exist". Haha, just kidding.
DoctorEq 5 months ago

@10thdim This was a very good video, I somewhat understood it, I'm only 15 the only reason I watched this was because I heard about the 10th dimension in a Japanese anime and wanted to learn about it to understand the anime more, one question So if we see 4th dimensional beings as a cross section of the 3rd, does that mean there are 4-D beings looking at us like how we see 2-D objects, I don't know how to explain what I'm asking that well sorry.
zachu95 4 months ago
@zachu95 We are actually living in the 5th dimension, that is, a point of potential existence moving down a 4th dimensional line that contains 3D objects. Imagine a statue. Its form is 3D. Its lifespan (use a living thing if you can't wrap your head around how long a statue could last) is 4D. Its placement and potential form as a result of outside forces/decay/etc. is 5D.

of understanding than reason is and do all laws of nature work like this in a way that is impossible to understand unless u exist in a dimension of understanding where it is possible to imagine such forces that create our world.
its just a little something i think about time to time sorry for the long comments T_T
sayhellotothemisses 5 months ago
comment continued
that effects people in a way that is inconceivable to our limited 3 dimensional understanding of everything so like forces that we see the product of it but cant physically define are forces with in higher dimensions that we can not understand so like reason is a force that is determined by ones perspective right does that mean that reason is a force that created by a force of perspective and if so does that mean that perspective is a force with in a higher dimension
sayhellotothemisses 5 months ago
dont laugh at me but it is it possible that any force with in the third dimension that cant be physically defined it terms of matter such as gravity quality reason ...etc can be a physical force with in a different dimension above that just has like a ripple effect with in our own dimmension and that is what we see like for example quality we see the product of it we can tell what is and what isnt but effects everyone differently does this mean that quality is a force with in a higher dimension
