this crap doesnt work on the street!!!! when u have an adrenoline rush, your senses are blurred and your potential strength is cut in half. if you wanna learn self defense you have to learn to make the adrenoline rush work in your favor. google it and youll see what i mean
@bunnietsukino I agree with you on this, but I'd like to suggest something on this topic after 10 years of Judo and Jiu Jitsu: try asking your training partner not to go along with the techniques. Get your training partner to attack and then do everything possible not to get thrown by you. This will give you a far better sense of how well your techniques would work in a real confrontation. I've learned there's a big difference when your opponent is trying to win and not be beaten.
@Alphastyx7 I guess from now on people should only train in a cage with trained serial killers. Obviously in an everything-goes-death-match. Just so we can get as close as possible to the streets.
Oh ok so she (or you, if this is you) was being graded to get her/your orange belt. oh ok I understand now. I understand that orange comes after yellow, that's how our school is too and we also have to wear our old belt before obtaining our new one (I believe every school does that). I just didn't know if this was a demo or if it was a test. thanks
In the description you said it was routines for orange belt. but the girl is yellow. is that a mistake or am I missing something? just curious is all :)
Orange is the belt that comes after yellow in our system. To move up a belt you need to be graded. A grading generally involves terminology, self defense, Kata, and sparring.
Anyway, when during the grading you wear the belt you are moving up from, and at the end of the grading you are given your new belt.
yeah that won't work .

What do you think we do by training this stuff for hours upon hours? We are training our bodies how to react without thinking.
Besides, self defense demos in a club and street self defense are two very, very different things we learn in our club.

Does that make sense?
