@acebot363 Not exactly. Its top speed is only 135 mph (that's a piece of cake for a Ferrari), but the acceleration is what makes these electric cars unique. It reaches 60 mph in about 4 seconds. It is amazing!
This is an incredibly innovative car, especially for commuting or around-town errands (considering that it takes to recharge any electric car). I am a motorcyclist at heart, and I know the power of being slim and cutting through stopped traffic. Having a car with this kind of performance which can also use a carpool lane (solo) and lane split is just brilliant. Plus, if more people drove these it would effectively double our lanes and parking.
It's called the "Tango" and George Clooney bought the 1st one. With VERY low production, it's now 120.000 to 150,000 but they are working on lowering the cost with mass production in the future. Google "Tango electric" to find it.
I got to ride in the back seat of the black one. Rick and I went to dinner in it. The accelleration was neck snapping and I had to keep my head back in the headrest when ever he would step on it. The best part though was the reaction of the people that we pulled up next to. I'd love to have one!
To think that little car will go from 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds. I would love to own that all electric vehicle but the price is too steep for me. Who would have thought 2 forklift motors could punch out that much horsepower along with 1000 foot pounds of torque.
is a Tango car made in wash state..
Cost varies from 120-150K depending mostly on batteries and accessories chosen..
lane splitting is allowed in those states and areas that allow motorcycles to lane split..
is a very strong built and safe car because of many factors
