GH3 pwns cock band :P the makers of rock band were stupid to sell out when they owned GH, then when they figured out they made a huge mistake they had to get back into the market by making a compeditor to GH..ROCK BAND was born and because the makers couldnt think of anything original had to steal the layout, game play of GH and change it slighty to make it look "different"
But once they sold out it wasnt there layout anymore dick shit they couldnt think of anything else so had to go back to there orignal design and pretty much everything that has to do with GH

Rock Band owns! I got this bad boy the day it came out for the Xbox 360. What stinks is that my 360 broke and I can't play it more until it gets repaired. I beat the game on medium.
you can chose, like, a good idea is to play normally with upper frets and do solos (tapping or hammer-ons) with the lower ones so if you mess up, you can strum faster
I'll buy both if i ever get an xbox360/playstation3/whatever console it's also released on, as i like to look to GH3 when i want speedpicking and rock band when i want to relax and just play the songs.

Well, I would agree that Guitar Hero, overall, requires more skill for the guitar than Rock Band. But Rock Band certainly has it's fair sure of difficult songs, like Green Grass and High Tides and Run to the Hills for example. Not crazy insano psycho like Through the Fire and Flames or The Devil Went Down to Georgia, but they're deff fun to play.
It seems like Rock Band really pussied out in the difficulty factor to make it easier for newbies to jump in and play... what good is playing guitar on Rock Band if not to show off your uber skills you attained from Guitar Hero? The only moderately difficult song I saw in there was Learn To Fly, and even that looked easy. I hope they get a lot harder than this...

If you have been playing GH since the beginning then the Guitar part in Rock band in disappointingly easy. However, I have both GHIII and Rock Band and I can personally attest that if you have four people rockin' out together then there is no better experience in Video Games. You have to realize that the guitar part in rock band is like playing guitar in a real band, it involves more rhythm, and there is certainly less of a focus on the guitar part as compared to GH, where the charts are given extra notes to make them more challenging. I think when you are actually playing with 3 other people you won't really notice the lack of difficulty.
I'm going to pretend that you did not just say that this is more like playing real guitar. As hard as GH can be, real guitar is harder 95% of the time. The solos in GH don't have extra notes added like you claim...
This game will rock. Don't get me wrong, GH3 is freakin awesome, but this will give you the actual "in the band" feeling. Something that I think us musicians can appreciate.
Plus, it's gonna have downloadable content every week, so you ain't gonna get tired of the songs.

I think that many of those songs might be in the beginning of the game, and thats why they look a bit easy.

You have to realize that the guitar part in rock band is like playing guitar in a real band, it involves more rhythm, and there is certainly less of a focus on the guitar part as compared to GH, where the charts are given extra notes to make them more challenging. I think when you are actually playing with 3 other people you won't really notice the lack of difficulty.

I'm going to pretend that you did not just say that this is more like playing real guitar. As hard as GH can be, real guitar is harder 95% of the time. The solos in GH don't have extra notes added like you claim...

Guitar hero wasn't about the difficulty, it was a game about playing with your friends at parties, being a dumbass, pretending to be a rockstar.
It was about having fun and laughing your ass off.
Now Guitar Hero is all about "elbow strumming" and metal wankeries.
Guitar Hero 2 is one of my favorite game but i must say: Guitar Hero 3 just sucks.

This game will rock. Don't get me wrong, GH3 is freakin awesome, but this will give you the actual "in the band" feeling. Something that I think us musicians can appreciate.
Plus, it's gonna have downloadable content every week, so you ain't gonna get tired of the songs.

Well id rather here this than obnoxious fucking Guitar Hero fanboys. I love Guitar Hero, and personally invite anyone here who has it for the wii to take me on. but anyone saying the songlist sucks or saying its a ripoff or is too easy is fucking stupid. This is the first 9 songs, its made by Harmonix, the same people who DEVELOPED Guitar Hero. And also, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult, The Who, David Bowie, The Clash, the Ramones,WTF do you mean that all the songs sucks.

lol I know I have GH2 and 3, the songs are awesome and this game is exaclty the same as GH3 (in terms of gameplay) except you can have other instruments too and make a band. I just said CoD4 was better because I just got the demo and wanted to post something that had nothing to do with GH3 or Rock Band =]

Rock Band is developed by harmonix. The people who gave you Guitar hero 1 and 2.Haromonix let neversoft develop ghIII because they were working on this, so stop whining about how they are copying guitar hero.

Fact: This is not a game about being a total hoss at guitar. It's not as hard as Guitar Hero. Okay? It's also got drums and vocals. It's doing something new with the genre.
(Also! Downloadable songs!)
And also: lzsthjp, have you ever actually played guitar? Hitting a note incorrectly does not produce a large buzzing/plucking noise.
