People who are criticizing the use of classical music, reenterpreted as new are the reason why classical music is taking a back seat all other forms of music. Instead of being outraged you should take the remake for what it is and then recommed that the listener also give the original composition a listen to give them the opportunity to decide for themselves. Besides I don't think Mozart would mind the attention.
For those who say that amy stole it...stealing in music is using a piece withou giving credit to the original composer. if you get your facts right, amy had said in several 2006 interviews that she was really inspired by mozart and that she wanted to write a metal version of lacrimosa since she was a teenager. It's not a cover either. a cover is a song played by a different artist. it's mostly an adaption cause she wrote her own music and her own lyrics based on the main theme.

More like Lacrymosa the Tetris version. Your piano skills are currently god awful but this is still a nice piece of music, you can't create anything bad from the genius of Lacrimosa.
@laa2009 i think they just entered the notes into a music program like finale or FL studio or something and just used the default piano sound. That's what it sounds like to me.
Even though it's simple I actually like this version pretty well. Just because it's not to your own liking doesn't mean it's bad, and music doesn't have to be complex or bombarded with extravagance to be good. It kind of takes away from things when they are expected to be a certain way you know?
I was probably a bit hasty with my original comment. Though it's not something I would chose to listen to compared to other versions, I still get that's it's a piece of art, and it's simplicity is kinda the whole idea behind it.

Can you reverse and actually make a well off version of Lacrimosa? Amy Lee's voice is beautiful but to be honest, it kind of ruins the version she did.

This is cute. Why do people become so offensive if someone creates a different version to a masterpiece original? She isn't competing with Mozart. She's just experimenting with music. In fact, it's probably a tribute to Mozart. And for those of you trying to force your opinion down others' throats saying, "it's impossible to like this," well perhaps its you who is musically close-minded and too ignorant to appreciate different styles of music.

1. Why is it called "Lacrymosa"? The original is called "Lacrimosa".
2. This version is so horrible, it's like me playing it on old 486 PC with keyboard and some amateur DOS program. :(( It's so sad to hear this masterpiece being played like this..

First off, The real lacrimosa by mozart sounds nothing like this, the only thing amy lee took from lacrimosa was the beginning.....I have played both Lacrimosas' They are totally differant!!!
