Second, life is 'not' simple. Santa Claus is 'simple'; having to come to grips with why your parents lied about it and later having to become the giver yourself is 'not' as simple.
I am an atheist. This is not an argument, it is an history about why religion spread because it is simpler to explain, though not simpler in the scientific sense.
It's ok, I think you weren't the only one to be confused. It's the first time a witness Poe's law affect a non-mocking representation of atheism-theism.

You don't even make Paul read the "book" for himself? Just have the priest "tell him stories" from it? If Paul grows up to be a pilot, he's going to have to know more than the bible can tell him. Right?
OK, I watched again (and read the text again). That's some subtle irony, but if you say so... ;) A sunset is beautiful, just because... It is more awesome if you've learned how and why.. I do agree that the easier explanation wins out too often. I'll retract my sarcastic comment :)
