First, lets get things straight. The animus isnt a time machine! It unlocks DNA strands within the chromosones to see the history of previous ansestors. Ezio only sees altair because either A. It is the bleed effect which is only occuring because Desmond is unlocking the DNA sequences of Ezio. :)

For what I've read/seen from the AC wiki and from many videos in youtube, it seems like Desmond is gonna mess real bad with the Animus, which could be producing the visions of Altair in Ezio's times, among other things.

Other possibilities:

1.Ezio was daydreaming (with really bad timing on it).

2. Altair's final use of the Apple (Codex Page 30) had a ricochet effect on Ezio.

3. Any other theory you can think of. The truth will show up when the game is released,

ya in the trailer ezio is where altair was at the begining of the 1st one right? and i cant realy remember because it was so long ago but when ezio has a vison of altair while fighting the guards and altair looks at him... in the first one did altair see a visoion of ezio fighting the guards because that would make sense right??????????

about the same soldiers, i have a theorie: When Ezio goes to Masyaf he already has 4 out of 5 seals, that means that he is strongly connected to Altair and he has visions sometimes when he goes to places where Altair has been especially if he pulls out his hidden blade, that is why he fights unarmed in the trailer, so that he will not be distracted by another vision (just guesses so this is not a spoiler or anything)

If you focus really hard on the silhouette in the red circle when it first says disappearing figure, you will see it vanish the moment it turns around. Maybe this is death, waiting for ezio's time to come...IDK thats what i think..thou it would make no sense to me..lol

@narutinhokaway disappearing figure is most likely Altair. You see Altair while Ezio is fighting the soldiers, the suspected Animus code. A few theories come to mind here; 1, It's just CG to make things look interesting and is not actually a factor. 2, a phenomenon similar to "the bleeding effect" has occured, and Ezio can see the ghosts of his ancestors. 3, and this is the least likely, the Apple of Eden granted Altair some kind of immortality. Look close at the figure. he's hooded.

@neomaniac14 No definitely not the last one Altair died at 92 defending the Masyaf, what's happened is Desmond has gone into a coma and to save his subconscious he's linked all three of their subconscious' and that's why Ezio's seeing Altair because of the bleeding effect
