  • Prius is a midsize vehicle now and comparable to the Camry NOT the Corolla a compact car.

  • i want a prius just couse of the gas savings. I could care less about saving the plant and all. I just want to drive long distances whith out fueling up every 350 miles.

  • @phsycopiano Prius's break VERY easily. Repair is expensive, too. I'd rather drive a gas guzzler.

  • Prius drivers don't buy a Prius to save money. Sort of like shortcuts are not always shorter. Prius drivers are taking responsibility for the impact they leave on the earth with vehicle emissions. They and other hybrid drivers just pay a premium in initial vehicle cost to do it. I don't like Prius drivers personally, I think a lot of them are elitist bumsniffers (to be nice). I just see where they are coming from so I point that out. They are paying it forward,

  • @HondaRaycer

I completely agree. Many if not all prius owners drive them not for savings, but for the self esteem boost that it gives them through the knowledge that they are "saving the planet."

The point, however, is that you can find videos and news reports out there (just look on youtube) which claim that the prius will save you money. Any such claims are blatant lies.

  • Toyota fully recycles the batteries, and they use a less toxic nickel battery than what most sources against hybrids would mislead you to believe. I tried to post links but it will not let me.

  • @HondaRaycer

Additionally, I would like to bring up one more point about the prius which may not go over so well with the prius fanboys. Obviously the great gas mileage of the prius means you burn less fossil fuels, and as a result "save the planet," but has anyone considered what happens when prius's start breaking?

Has anyone considered the fact that the 500 lb mongoloid of a battery that the prius uses might have some environmental impact when it goes bad and is thrown into a landfill?

Replace the word dot with an actual dot please. Same for the word slash

  • If you want to save the planet don't drive at all, now seriously what type or nonsense douche bag would make a clip like this

  • @toyotaprius79

I'm the kind of douche bag that would make a clip like this. Here's why. For a long time, the prius has been marketed not only as a way to "save the planet" but also as a way to save money.

Now believe it or not, some people don't do adequate research when purchasing a car, and will therefore believe anything the liberal media tells them about how much money you will save driving a prius. cont'd..

  • @gerbinator2009 i paid 4k for my 04 prius. pay 30 bucks for gas every 2 months. i drive 90mi one way to get to dr appts and grocery stores. so you can keep your comments to yourself. you cannot afford one yourself and therefore you bad mouth those who do. and i can ASSURE YOU electric/gas hybrids are the future so get off your soap box and deal with it. gasoline is not going to last forever this is the next best alternative. thanks to fat ass americans and their gas guzzlers.

  • @mysqueeker I could use the stats you have supplied like "30 bucks every 2 months," "4K," combine them with the MPG estimates for the prius and disprove all of the claims you've just made.

Unfortunately I see that you have already resorted to personal attacks, writing in caps, and unfounded generalizations, so I hardly think trying to debate you with things like logic or math is worth my time.

  • @gerbinator2009 and your retarded so your not worth my time. i have a idea. you continue to drive your american cars and stop attacking the prius and start attacking chevrolet insted for their over priced volt.

  • @toyotaprius79

Cont'd: I made this video to show people that using nothing more than google and some 5th grade math, you can figure out that prius drivers will not make up the premium they pay for owning one in gas savings.

I did nothing in this video to attack the "green" merits of the prius, and I was not trying to offend prius owners like you.

I merely stated some facts, did some math, and dispelled the myth that this product will save you money.

  • Well you have a great point, but price is not all. The Corolla pollutes a lot more than the Prius. The 2010 Prius puts out 142 grams of carbondioxid per mile. The Corolla puts out more then 240 grams per mile. Thats a big difference. If you where to compare the Corolla to the 2004-2009 Prius, that would be a different story. That cars base price was higher, and it put out about 176 grams of carbondioxid per mile.

  • @dbr712 prius does 89g of CO2 per mile

  • @toyotaprius79 No thats per Kilometer. 1 Mile = 1.609 km. 89 times 1.6 = 142,4.

  • Your video is true. Keep in mind that some people like other parts of the car too. Style, design, dash, Led headlights etc.. It is not the smartest thing to do based on gas. But, it could be for someone who like myself who simply likes the prius as it is the most futuristic looking, acting car on the road at its price point. Corollas are BORING.... to many people...

The volt will make more sense but at a even higher premium.

  • this video is great! im doing a persuasive speech on the prius and why you shouldn't get it! and it was alot of help, i may show it to the class if you dont mind

  • Thanks! Showing it in class would be awesome.

  • haha nice!
