Kit Carson's resting place is a special destination for local indians. In Taos New Mexico an old foot path has been tread for generations. Tewa Indians walk this path daily. After an all-day drunk stumbling and shuffling back home to the reservation they stop and pee on Kit Carson's grave. FACT

This is how I experienced the series, way back in the 1950's, dubbed in French, as the series was shown on RTBF Belgian Television.

I didn't understand a word of the dialogue, but loved the show anyway.
