I had seen them perform in Milwaukee at a dive called The JeffersonStarShip.I was a great show,I was 18 at the time!To this day,I still collect Ventures music, from the original group the to younger one today to continue the legacy,The Ventures rock-always!!Thanx for posting!!!!!!!!

  • Two drummers? o_O!

  • thumbs up if you think that idiot, Necromantia555 can't spell...... nimrods on you tube .... they never end

  • thank you gentlemen for a good instrumental. I have the origin vinyl in my collection of #1 hits.

  • KAWABONGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (:

  • Nice boys still going strong keep up !

  • Both these drummers look like they're coked up...check their mouths out hahaha...........

  • This was on the juke box in our lunchroom in high school. Everytime someone played it, all the guys had out pencils doing the drumming. And it got place at least once every lunch hour.

  • The drums are awesome in this one!

  • When I was in the fifth grade anybody who couldn't play "Wipeout" on their desk was an outcast.

  • /watch?v=Af3HLxZ9-_g

  • I know one of the drummers is Max Weinberg but I don't know the name of the other one.

  • Great version, drums are fantistic!

  • How old is this video?

  • nice drums!!!

  • YAYYY

  • Who's the second drummer....looks like the drummer for ToTo but that cant be right as that guy died from poisoning from the stuff he was using on his front lawn.

  • SO BADASS THEY NEED TWO DRUMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

  • Ventures was always a thirdrate band. And these drummers should check out the real Master of instrumental drumming Brian Bennett from The best intrumental band in the world EVER The Shadows, much higher class and much more musical and capable of playing in all styles of music. Ventures is a typical American Cowboy band, without taste.

  • @Dionysosable then why dont you just leave the US right now, we dont want "your type" here anyway, and they'll all play better than you can even dream of

  • @Dionysosable The Ventures and The Shadows were both awesome bands. I can't decide which one I like more. No reason to dis the other if one is your favourite. Both Brian and Mel are great drummers. I think Mel was even better than Brian.

  • HOT

  • no maa "$#%#&%/ buenisima!

  • What a great clip. I didn't even recognize Max since he is no longer on Conan OBrien. I wonder what he is doing now.

  • dat drummin

  • If you watch the Japan 1966 vid of this you'll see the guitar in question. It was a white Moserite made by Seth Mosley in California. SWEET playing axe!!!

  • Nokie Edwards,The lead guitar had a nephew who was CLOSE to as good as he is. His name was John St.Martin.He played for me back in the mid 70s. Mskimmy is my wife.My name is Skip. I actually got to hold and play one of Nokies guitars one time,I considered it an honor just to hold it.

  • Tolles Duell

  • whats year was this?

  • his hat is ridiculous.

  • @TheGoldenIke

If you have a closed mind, then please do the same with your mouth...

  • ITS OFFICIAL!!!! ALL DRUMMERS ARE SPAZZES!!! :D

  • Lyrics? BAH! Lyrics are for no-talent hacks who need something other than music to make their songs interesting.

Kind like... the reciprocal of Soulja Boy. HAH!

  • Meet the Real Beach Boys!!!!!!!!!...muchwaaa

  • Bobby Hill!!!!

  • Max Weinberg! No way!

  • its gideon on the drumset!!! :O

  • the very first drummer of the ventures was skip moore , he played on the original walk don't run recording. later they had howie johnson and then the legendary mel taylor as you can see on this vid. after he passed away in 1996 his son leon tayler took over.

  • สุโค่ย ^^

  • This song sounds like it's all about the duelling drummers but it's really about the "beats"

  • TOP ARTISTS

  • @gwyllem the song isnt hard to play after a few practices :)

  • this song is so awsome!

  • Oh, they had two drummers for wipe out. No wonder it's kind of hard to play.

  • @gwyllem Take a look at the 1966 version, just one drummer. The guy was full of talent. I believe thats his son playing with him in this vid

  • Comment removed

  • This is the result of year of hard work rather than some toy machine.

  • god DIUM man!! :)

  • after years of knowing the melody, i finally found the name of this song :'D.......These kind of songs are much much better than the kind of shit today :D

  • Superb!

  • 0:06 Howard from The Big Bang Theory.

  • The drummer in a white hawaii shirt looks like Al Pacino :o

  • Rock On...

  • good drumming, freind-o

  • just loving the drummers.

  • These cats also taught Charlie Sheen how to dress. (Winning!)

  • it's going to take another 60 years of my life to wipe the smile off of my face... awesome

  • MAD MAX?!?!?!

  • the drums are awesome.

  • Wow i Love this.I mean just awesome.Mel and Max .This is one of those u go Damnit man i wish i coulda been there. The band is smokin. Thanks for posting .Just great

  • Always did love this song... a good friend of mine loved it so much he baught a single snare drum.. and practiced it day and night.... when we went to High school. he dropped out in our sophmore year, two weeks into the year. and went into the Army, Three months into a tour in Viet Nam. he was KIA. 17 years old....

Now when I hear this song, I remember him as he was then.... jamin away to the 45 on his snare.... He is for ever that kid....

  • Mel Taylor

  • ez igen legalab igy kell jatszani --gyerekek..

  • 18 people suck at guitar so badly that they broke their strings playing this song and the guitar was crying and it killed itself

  • Who's the Mexican playing guitar? Looks like he's playing the leads we all identify the song from. Wasn't that written by Dick Dale? Is that him in the middle?

  • 5*****

  • The Ventures always had the hottest Wipeout ever in my humble opinion!

  • It's Desmond Hume on drums haha

  • Max and Mel are both beasts on the drums

  • why dont bands have two drummers anymore...

  • Super..........Super........This shit today couldn't hold a candle to these artists........

  • @iditarod9 you are so right.....the Ventures are the best band ever and they will never be duplicated....they are true effortless genius

  • @iditarod9 wellll AC/DC did come out with a great album in 2008 and Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2009

  • @ThisIsS000Sad ) The stuff they play today is not solid Rock and Roll and the country western sound has gone down the tubes also...!

  • @iditarod9 noooo.......... listen to big jack or rock n roll train, 2 of the best from black ice by AC/DC, and lynyrd skynyrd is not country western, theyre southern rock. and coming back for more, god and guns, still unbroken, and storm from God and Guns by Skynyrd.

  • Dueling drums--way cool!!!

  • I'm not joking when I say this but this helped me finish my homework in 10 minutes.

  • @AnthonyTotheRescue lol awesome

  • @AnthonyTotheRescue i wish i could say the samee haha ive been working on my hw for like 2 hours

  • Who here DIDN'T airdrum at all here?

  • Nah, Max Weinberg looks much more like Jason Schwartzman than Tom Cruise.

  • Okay, we've got Tom Cruise on drums, Charles Bronson on guitarr and Bill Clinton on bass, is just me or that's weird.

  • @uclefuccker i thought it was tom cruise on drums ever sense the first time i saw this.

  • but, nobody can beat the original version by the Safaris

  • This is pure goodness! For me The Ventures have been a bright lighthouse in the sea of mediocrity for a long time now.

  • i still think tom cruise on the smaller drum set.

  • Is that Carlos Santana? o_O

    :D

  • Max Weinberg rippin' it up, nice. As a bonus we got Charles Bronson on guitar! Great tune.

  • Bill Clinton on the Bass Guitar everyone!

  • These guys are nothing but AWESOME! Stick that in your pipe and toke on it Brittney and Miley!

  • As a teen, I was first introduced to The Ventures with Hawaii Five-0, and from that point on I collected all of their past and future albums. Being a musician's son myself, it was this group that turned me on to the drums, too. In the late sixties, who were the members: Mel Taylor, Nokie Edwards, Bob Bogle and Gerry McGee, correct?

  • The drummer still has the same stupid haircut from the 60's

  • @Vaportrail69 Humor's hard t'do on the internet; not to be discerned as to whether your comment acknowledges the common sense in recognition of the fact that, that haircut still be workin' for 'im, . . .

  • @phillipgaley Is that Richard Petty in the Hat ?

  • @phillipgaley okay.....?

  • @Vaportrail69 Okay, myself, just to say that, I think, it's not a "stupid haircut"—or, your comment might have been intended as humor, . . . who knows, . . .

  • Is that max on drums from conan o brien

  • geniaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal

  • @goodfellaspunx inderdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

  • FANTASTIC ! *****STARS

    ONE OF THE BEST !!!!

  • failure

  • Can anyone tell me the names of the members here besides Max Weinberg? I'm kind of confused lol.

  • i remember year was 63. it was great!

  • @zappafan45 you dont know the 60's you had to really be there. i was jammin to some acdc back in fuck 65 they were the best besides from nickleback! Frank Zappas shit dude

  • @FuckleberryFinn69 AC/DC? In 1965? Now, THAT is impressive. Seeing as how Malcolm was all of 12 at the time. The group came to be in 1973. Would you like to try again?

  • @MoonEyes2k good try ACDC was around since 59 dipshit get your shit straight

  • Comment removed

  • @FuckleberryFinn69 Impressive! You know, I don't know what you've been smoking, but I'd lay off of it, if I were you, since you clearly don't have enough brain cells that you can afford to loose any.

  • @MoonEyes2k coool man awesome im so hurt by that responce kudos.

  • @MoonEyes2k very smart good come back

  • @FuckleberryFinn69 You know you. Dude

  • Cool...........

  • me and my band are doing this for our talent show next year.

  • The Ventures were (still are) in a class of their own. I never stopped being a fan since my dad brought home their 2 Walk Don't Run albums.

  • nice hat granddad

  • One of THE best bands ever!

  • the drummer with the smaller set reminds me of tom cruise some how.

  • @sToNeSoUr49 it has to be the nose i see it too i noticed it after you mentioned it.

  • @MrTechies it still looks like him to me. i think its the nose

  • I WANT TO PLAY DRUMS!!!

  • And the guitar riff was born

  • one of THE coolest drum battles ive seen

  • wow!!! love it!

  • 15 people cant drum

  • 14 people are lead singers

  • @fancisbeta ... and I mean jealous lead singers.

  • @fancisbeta AHAHA

  • I have this on VINYL no less--right after it came out when the surfing craze was at its peak.

  • That's actually....not bad. I haven't seen Weinburg on the drums before Conan. This is refreshing.

  • I grew up listening to these guys, and this is the first time I've "seen" them with tandem drummers. Maybe they've done it before and I couldn't tell by hearing. They're music still seems to be popular in Japan -- as is Dick Dale.

  • King Weinberg!

  • I came here for the guitar part, stayed for the drum solos.

  • I love the eye contact between the drummers, They feed off each other,,,Awesome ! ! !

  • two drummers, two different styles, one badass song

  • it's not the sort of music I usually like, but I LOVE this song *__* the guitar (i also play this song :D), and of course the drums <3

  • this is what drums were made for.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • The Drummer Are Awesome

  • The drummer on the left with the glasses was the drummer in Conan O'Brians band when he first started on his nightly talk show... He also used to play drums for Bruce Springsteen

  • @HepcatNZ He still does play drums for Bruce Springsteen. If you check around YouTube, there's some great videos of The E Street Band playing in recent years :)

  • Every garage band in the mid to late '50s had to be able to play this.

  • I like the beachboys best i'd like to have it at my funeral

  • @littlewomble12345 rest in peace lol

  • This is LOVE !!!!! :))))

  • 14 people need to be wiped out in the head.

I would listen to this song all day. Oh yeah!!
