Thing people forget is the skyline has a leggy box. standard GTST will do over 160mph mine would bout 70mph in second easily. Trust me i know my ban gets took off my licence in AUG Whoo hoo! wait till you feel the cam change over on a skyline at 120mph its like Honda Vtec coming in!

I appreciate yr reply bit hard to decipher but. 1- i did 166mph in 5th gear at 6800 rpm (Don't forget they are 250BHP as standard on a GTST) 2- i said the cosworth "engine" was great 3- the 1st sierra saphire cosworth (2wd)came out in 1989 so it wil be max 20yrs ish? this looks like a 4x4 so didnt make them till about 1990/91 the R33GTST 1st came out of the factory 1993 so she's no spring chicken. 4- you can tell by the exhaurst tone and the pop that the cossie's pushing some big bhp out.

and 5 the cosworth engine has been around for 25 years only difference is the engines turned side ways to make it 2wd or 4x4 depending on the ways its turned. the rs 500 and old escort mark1 specails had cosworth engines and they all cam with the standard 2litre cosworth engine thats been used for 25years, excluding cosworth specails 2.5 litre and 2,8litre

i swear the 1st RWD Saph came out in March 1988, and they stopped making the Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 in early 1993. Thats hat it said in the book anyway , not sure if its true or not

hello my 2wd saph cosworth is on a F reg and is registerd in 1988.you can get a saph on a E reg to.plus all the parts are the same as a 3 door sierra cosworth. wich i think came out on a D reg 1986

What this about turnign the engine in the cossies?? lol mate the engine faces same way in the 2wd and the 4wd..

And btw the block of a cossie engine would be around about 35 years now. And the engines used in old mk1 (and vast majority of fords since then) uses the block the cossies use. Cosworth didnt make the block, just modifyed the engines.

Im a big fan of japs and Skylines especially, but id rather have a 3dr Segga cossie over an R33 GTS-T an R32 GTST and i'd think about it, but R33's are just shit. Also, the cossie is down 2 cylidners .5 of a litre in capacity and in essence is a transit engine (the block is a highly modified transit diesel block.)

My R33 GTST had a big problem with the lifters cos god knows y but Nissan made that model with hyd lifters every other R engine came with solid lifters sigh! Would have to be a 3dr cos tho. There just so expensive! Pick up a GTST R33 for bout 2/3k. the 3dr sierras u can put 10k in front of that! : ( Was ford all my life my uncle worked at Dagenham my grandad & i was born meters from the factory. They've done nothing great since The 80's they were mega! I have a 80's transit 1 owner from new : D

a 2/3k R33 will be a proper dog, they don't start getting decent till 5/7k and you can get an R32 GT-R for that.

Ford saph sierra's are production family cars with an old estate 4wd running gear with a great engine in. underrated brakes and gear box's+ when they came out the injection system alone was a slight step up from mechanical injection. Skyline was a specially designed car built to win races with proper brakes drive train and 4 wheel steer. they had variable exhaust valve timing ceramic turbo to reduce lag coil pack ignition systems when ford still messed with dizzy's. . Miss my skyline so much.

OK look at this way the skyline is 2.5ltr twin tturbo 24 valve.. cossie 2.o 16v single turbo.. and as you said stock the cossie is better.. work it out.. soppy bollox cossie engine is probably the best engine ever mad in my eyes.. amazingf how the 2.0 p[into bottom end works so well with the 16v head.. cossie 4 life !
