With thousands upon thousands of hit points, it takes forever to die. I'm a big fan of lower digit games.

Meh, I found this fight pretty easy. All you need to do is make sure to max Ike with both leveling and items, along with giving him aether. Aether is practically the only way to beat the black knight here so you MUST attack him one square away for aether to work.

o yea and um no offense or anything but my mist is lvl 20 valkyrie with a lot of strength...but it's pretty hard to train her especially since in the beginning she can only heal only little wounds.
why would I take offense to that? It's true. xD besides, playing through the game on normal, it's not like a high level healer is even all that necessary. I could probably have beaten the game with 3 or 4 units.

In Radiant Dawn? If you haven't found out yet, he continues the life of a mercenary. He's a big musclehead in that game. And he kicks the Black Knight's ass WAY easier in it.

dragonsbuster, Aether is the skill Ike gets when you use a occoult scroll on him when hes a Lord, Aether triggers Sol and Luna at the same time. I hope this helped a little:)
i don't think you get the brave sword in the chest i opened all of them with sothe and volke and all of them had stat improving stuff and unnamed weapons.

btw i started a new game and ust got to the black knight. mist was killed in chapter 17 by tanas and rhys was gone in chapter 26 since he had purge which is long distance. so i put wrath and adept on ike. and you can't believe it put i had 3 hp and i used wrath and adept 2 times instantly killing him and i didn't have mist by my side
aether is a skill of ike that allows to activate sol and luna consecutively. sol absorbs half the damage infliced on the enemy while luna cut's the defense of the eney in half. also giffca is the best. he has 68 hp. he is the king's shadow and he can attack ashnard with 15 damage. while naesala only does ??? and tibarn does 13
you need aether to beat the bk other wise he will be you with the priest's help regenerating him. i used aether in my last shot beating him and getting nasir

Why were you attacking from 2 distances away. I am preety sure Aether can't activate from that distance as I have played the game 7 times and it never has so preety sure it doesn't. Without Aether this fight is pointless. Ike with Aether is just stupity, its the best skill in the game.

Yeah, Aether kicked in right away, I fought the next turn normally, then Aether hit again to finish him off. Aether hits about 25% of the time, I believe.
This game is a very good strategy/rpg. It'll also keep you occupied for a long time. Fun, Lengthy (in the good way) and well worth the money. Definitely pick it up.

In this chapter, you will only have 1 new party member to this if you do either any of these:
Obtain Nasir-Defeat the Black Knight within only 5 turns of battle.

You can't forge brave weapons. I think you get it in a chest on the level where you fight Ena. Not sure though.

I killed the Black Knight in 2 turns. Aether activated every time and he went bye-bye

I think its because she died in chapter 12 or something...? :p
Anyway I just kept running away from him and he didnt even move heheheeeeee. Nasir came and killed him :p (Actually I have finished the whole game yesterday)

You do know that if you have nasir kill the black knight instead of ike you don't get nasir you get ena right?

Yes I already know, nasir is lvl18 but ena is 10 right? Yeah yeah but i'm not even bothered... :p

Oh yesterday I managed to battle with him. (My first time though) I made clsoe range and I think he had aether and killed me in an instant =_= Also Mist didn't come...

Actually, I didn't really need Mist. I trained her up to a level 18 Valkerie and Ike didn't even need any healing. This was my first try, I'm so proud.

from the vid, I conclude that it does not. I had Aether during this battle, but I did not know that it was a close-range attack.

It's a remix from Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. It's the first battle theme. I can send it to you if you like. This was probably my worst attempt. My best attempt, I beat him in 3 turns.

Okay. Thanks man. Ummmm....sure. Why not? BTW, one more thing...how did you beat him in three turns? Aether I guess? Also, on a sidenote....should I get this game as my next GC one or are there better ones that I should get?

Yeah, Aether kicked in right away, I fought the next turn normally, then Aether hit again to finish him off. Aether hits about 25% of the time, I believe.
This game is a very good strategy/rpg. It'll also keep you occupied for a long time. Fun, Lengthy (in the good way) and well worth the money. Definitely pick it up.

No wonder you didn't kill him. Ike needs the occult, Mist needs to be a valkyrie, you don't have to let her escape, she needs a better staff too.

Okay guys, I kinda neglected to tell you all that I ended up beating the Knight a while ago, after figuring out that Aether doesnt work long range. I still didnt upgrade Mist, so it really isnt necessary.

that was teribble!mist isn't a valkirye, so she can stay there and fight the back ups while she heals ike, and ike should attakc at close range because he can use aether

Why were you using that weird projectile attack? You would of done much more damage with a close ranged attack.
