Your analysis is too simplistic. As one of the earlier comments states Manny gets hit way too often. He will probably hit Floyd but not as much as you think. All of Manny's fights lately have been against fighters that Bob Arum promotes. This is Manny's promoter as well. Do you seriously think that Arum would let his prime "money maker" lose. Mayweather is a conservative fighter, no doubt. However, he CAN be aggressive, use combinations, throwing punches in unusual angles, and so on. You should see him again vs. Hatton and especially vs. Gatti. The big difference is: nobody EVER could really put FMW in trouble. Yes, Pacquiao hits hard and fast, and also assimilates punches really well, but I see FMW giving Pacquiao a 12 round boxing lesson and wining by decision. This fight HAS to take place!!!!

Pac side didn't refuse the test. They agreed to olympic style test before the kick-off press and 1 after the fight and 24/7 urine test. That sounds reasonable (they certainly can find any illegal substance in the blood). I wouldn't want to fall for the mayweather 's annoying childest antics. Pac don't have to prove anything to Floyd, he just need to prove to his fans.
I do find it unfare to Pac and sports of boxing that some people (mostly the press) are not being accurate by saying Pac refuses the steroids test. Floyd CAN box with both hands up and has done it before. (Zab Judah fight). He doesn't have to punch in that manner. But he CAN do that with MOST fighters because he is MUCH faster than them.
The fact of the matter is, Floyd is more versatile. He can do things that you haven't seen him do. That means that he can pull a rabbit out of the hat and hit Manny with something he never saw before.
Boxing is about STRATEGY. Not all of the stuff you mentioned. You can have all of those skills and STILL get defeated. Pacquiao LOST to Morales, and got outboxed by Marquez TWICE. All of that stuff he does didn't help.On the other hand Mayweather used one punch at a time and TOTALLY DOMINATED Marquez. Which one takes more skill? To throw all kinds of combinations and get your ass BEAT or to only use ONE PUNCH at a time, and DOMINATE?
hatemad: No, I hear what your saying. As I did mention, Floyd knows how to dominate with one punch at a time, and when the time is right, he'll then show the combos. He's really brilliant, truly. But, it's his style that makes him a boring fighter to many people. People want to be razzle-dazzled. His entertainment factor is obviously not as high as Manny's due to this. As far as the question about what takes more skill, it depends who you're fighting. Manny chose to slug it out with Marquez.
You know, Floyd did have his times of 'slugging it out' as well, when he was younger. He knows he has a good chin, so he didn't mind getting hit as much as he does now. Manny definitely doesn't mind getting hit, and actually pumps him up even more when he does. They are just different. So, Manny's been hit much more over the years, over more fights than Floyd. But to say that Floyd's better because he was hit less, is not a good indication of overall skill. Defense, yes, but not overall skill.

As far as PAC being pumped, Manny wasn't pumped when Morales whooped his ass. All of those hits take a toll on your body because the body isn't mean to be abused. PAC said he ACTS like it doesn't hurt. But when he gets brain damage he can't hide that.

It depends on who you are fighting. They BOTH fought Marquez. Manny got his ass beat twice, and Mayweather COMPLETELY DOMINATED. And only used ONE PUNCH at a time. WHO was the mroe skilled fighter?

But everytime I do, I hope to see Floyd go off and knock brothers out! For the Marquez fight, I knew he was going to win, never a doubt. But my expectation was way too high and like I said, I saw nothing but the same thing for 12 rounds. Sorry, but I'm not alone on this feeling.

But this was Floyd 1st fight in 2yrs and he fought Marquez who had been active and was impressive against Casamayor and Diaz....And Floyd dominated him..No he landed 12% of his punches and Marquez was supposed to be a counterpuncher 12%! That was impressive to me and i think Marquez is a HOF hands down.

lip20s: This is an interesting concept. Does Floyd actually have a Plan B? I don't think he does. Floyd just mixes up his offense to keep his opponent guessing all night. legend: I absolutely agree with this!! The truth is, Floyd respected Marquez's skills and did not risk getting caught. He knew he could not get the KO so he opted to box the entire 12. I mean, he did mention there was almost an opportunity for a KO in the 9th or 10th, but he even admitted that Marquez was tough. Floyd wanted to make a statement that he could completely shut out Marquez, and that's what he did. He just kept his distance all night. He'll have to do the same against Manny to win.

I was just saying tactfully even thought he was fighting a injured floyd, I think he did a better job that most fighters at sticking to floyd, and putting pressure during the rounds.. he is so versitile that he switched up his style in the last 2 rounds he stood toe to toe with castillo with two broken ribs and a torn rotator cuff. after roger told him that he could not afford to back up any more. trust me I know that he knows how to get the job done. Your analysis is too simplistic. As one of the earlier comments states Manny gets hit way too often. He will probably hit Floyd but not as much as you think. All of Manny's fights lately have been against fighters that Bob Arum promotes. This is Manny's promoter as well. Do you seriously think that Arum would let his prime "money maker" lose. Mayweather is a conservative fighter, no doubt. However, he CAN be aggressive, use combinations, throwing punches in unusual angles, and so on. You should see him again vs. Hatton and especially vs. Gatti. The big difference is: nobody EVER could really put FMW in trouble. Yes, Pacquiao hits hard and fast, and also assimilates punches really well, but I see FMW giving Pacquiao a 12 round boxing lesson and wining by decision. This fight HAS to take place!!!!

zom: Manny doesn't look like a guy on juice. His muscles are lean, but not outrageously 'vascular' (veins popping out). People on juice become very 'vascular' and 'bulging'. Look at Roy Jones Jr. and Sugar Shane. Their muscle shape and vascularity is different. Manny is lean but smooth. Also, acne is a very common side effect. Manny doesn't seem to have much.

Cant blame pacman for refusing drug test (blood samples)immediately before the fight because of superstitious belief that it can diminish his power. However He is very willing to take it immediately before the post fight press analysis. Now isnt it fair? Mayweather should accept this if he is not afraid of pacman. 10 days before the fight, Manny is under intense training, sparring hard and very focused on the most important fight of the decade, AND THEN these drug testers come in unexpectedly and interrupt him for maybe 30 minutes?! Pac side didn't refuse the test. They agreed to olympic style test before the kick-off press and 1 after the fight and 24/7 urine test. That sounds reasonable (they certainly can find any illegal substance in the blood). I wouldn't want to fall for the mayweather 's annoying childest antics. Pac don't have to prove anything to Floyd, he just need to prove to his fans.

I do find it unfare to Pac and sports of boxing that some people (mostly the press) are not being accurate by saying Pac refuses the steroids test. I don't think the boxing fans are intentionally misinforming other about the test ... they're just misinform by the headline the some press are putting out. You admitted that Floyd CAN do it, but he doesn't because it is not always NECESSARY.
Floyd CAN box with both hands up and has done it before. (Zab Judah fight). He doesn't have to punch in that manner. But he CAN do that with MOST fighters because he is MUCH faster than them.
The fact of the matter is, Floyd is more versatile. He can do things that you haven't seen him do. That means that he can pull a rabbit out of the hat and hit Manny with something he never saw before.

You know, Floyd did have his times of 'slugging it out' as well, when he was younger. He knows he has a good chin, so he didn't mind getting hit as much as he does now. Manny definitely doesn't mind getting hit, and actually pumps him up even more when he does. They are just different. So, Manny's been hit much more over the years, over more fights than Floyd. But to say that Floyd's better because he was hit less, is not a good indication of overall skill. Defense, yes, but not overall skill.

So, when it boils down to it, Manny is more exciting to watch that Floyd to most people. I will still order every Floyd fight anyway, just because I'm a sucker for quality Boxing. But everytime I do, I hope to see Floyd go off and knock brothers out! For the Marquez fight, I knew he was going to win, never a doubt. But my expectation was way too high and like I said, I saw nothing but the same thing for 12 rounds. Sorry, but I'm not alone on this feeling.

But this was Floyd 1st fight in 2yrs and he fought Marquez who had been active and was impressive against Casamayor and Diaz....And Floyd dominated him..No he landed 12% of his punches and Marquez was supposed to be a counterpuncher 12%! That was impressive to me and i think Marquez is a HOF hands down.

I mean, he did mention there was almost an opportunity for a KO in the 9th or 10th, but he even admitted that Marquez was tough. @tonyman2c...stronger does mean power all the time, speed brings about power! strength in boxer is the ability to keep fighter off you! And I hasve really yet to see some manhandle Floyd in the ring! Oscar was bigger, didnt do it, So was Corrales, Castillo, Ndou, etc ...Floyd is much stronger than people give him credit for! Listen to Hatton after the fight he said Floyd was bigger and stronger than he thought and so did Marquez?

idoknowboxing: Well I agree with your two statments... but I don't think you got what my point was.. I brought up that fight for two reasons one.. and most importantly people keep bringing up the weight issue with marquez as if floyd had never fought under 147.. In that fight he had moved up from 130 with titles to fight a bigger man at 134 for titles.. Floyd came into the fight weighing 138.. and Castillo came in at 147 a full 9 lbs heavier...

Manny is a front line always in battle. Floyd stay slick they say juz because his a sniper do the math.i like manny not bcoz im a flip im a boxing fan like everyone i just want to see a good fyt.. Rodney heres my point of view why peeps here thinks hes untouchable his 40-0 record comin out victorious no bruise no cuts he boz with coolness smilin in the ring(even judges gt foled of ut)but heres the thing i know boxing is boxing but its still a war a battle people says flloyd has more experience i dont dig that flloyd has never been a real war on ther other hand
