Who really cares? Modding a diesel is just for fun, what most people want engine mated to a great transmission that are both efficient, torkey and reliable. The performance of a tuned duramax is just a by-product of the 4-v heads which breathes close to 30% better

That truck most likely has 410's. The allisons first gear combined with that rear gear gives an overall starting gear of something astronomical like 7.08. That truck does get up and go, but it wouldnt be AS quick getting to X speed as a lower #/higher gear would be. You also have to include the converter stall speed factor into the equation as well.

To all the haters saying it's not fast, get a life! Its an Allison transmission behind a Duramax: It's not made to be fast. The allison is geared to hell and back to pull dead weight, and a diesel isn't supposed to rev high at all, because it makes low end power. It was an awesome video. Try setting your redline to 3K on your gas engine with a 4 speed, go up against this truck and see who comes out on top.
