My favorite thing about beginning a new season of TBL (US, UK or Aus) is that I get to start out pretty much liking everyone and want the very best for them.
Then, the honeymoon wears off and people's true colors start to come out and you narrow people down to your favorites. So far I like the father and son, the strangers and dear mum Carol!
Oh dear... that's not promising, is it? LOL My favorites of all of them are Mark and Carol. But, I'm only on the first weigh in right now (Episode 5).
The British show seems to be much less respectful of the contestants - all the shots off butt cracks shots of big bellies without heads - not so sensitive.
There is a spectrum of autism from the spinning and banging the head against the wall to something called aspergers which is highly functioning (in fact once you know more about aspergers you'll probably realize that you know people that have it).
Its easy to be cynical here, but depending on how serious the kid's autism is, this could be a big deal. True, its better than a dead father, but its actually nothing to laugh at. Autistic kids need REALLY regimented routines. Even his father being absent is a big deal, so the return of a Mr. Belly-less version should be prepared for.
He does not seem to be that severe as far as not able to look at the camera man when he is talking about his dad so, it may not be as big a deal for a severe autistic
I'd run away from Angie lmao or drop kick her, she is freaking scary!

Funny thing is how in every version I've seen, people are always terrified of female trainers. Tbh I love them <3

Since autistic kids don't deal well with change, I wonder how the kid will deal with a Dad who doesn't look ANYTHING like "Mr. Belly" anymore?
WileyCoyote69 2 years ago
Probably a lot better than if his father had a heart attack and died suddenly
sicandbored 2 years ago 12
Maybe they could let the guy make a video every week, and send it to his son. Then the change wouldn't seem so drastic.

That's not a bad notion.
