Reminds me a bit of another group who got a new female lead that eclipsed both the original and the group - Jefferson Airplane. Listen to their first work with Signe Anderson. Difference, of course, is that JA went onto a stratospheric rise - but lost the original focus where Marty Balin was the main lead singer; while Fairport stayed the low road and is still playing together, post Sandy.
