  • WOW!! This was my first show. I was 14. I think. WOW!! Just WOW!!

  • so powerfull!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • euuuahh i wish that didn't cut off on turnaround!

  • primer gran concierto con dave a la batería. Fueron, son y serán grandes para siempre. Otro grupo para la eternidad (Doors, Jimi Hendrix,Sex Pistols, Thin Lizzy, etc...)

  • dave grohl is a amazing drummer!

  • I was there too and I think it was during "Blew" that they blew a fuse and lost all power. And Dave Grohl STILL kept pounding on his kit while they waited for the power to come back on.

  • i was there, this was bitchin, and goes to show that anything can end up on Youtube!! wow

  • a cheeseburger and passion

  • it was 90 and the kids in audience already knew lithium :)

  • that's what I'm talking about no thumbs down!

  • I live in Olympia. The club has been replaced by a punk club called Northern.

  • @Clevermess Do they have actually good punk gigs there? Like oldies type. Not any of the wannabe bullshit from this generation.

  • This was Dave first live gig with the band!

  • Kurt whore more flannels earlier on :L

  • @antipopboner They were cool for him until the entire world started wearing them because he did. Literally.

  • it did...

  • scoff is so badass. i love daves drumming of the bleach songs. i still say nirvanas best shows qere right after dave joined the band. late 1990 and early 1991.

  • Can anyone tell me what's the name of the 1st song? Thank you!

  • @FooFightersFan01

first song on here is love buzz

  • <3 Dave

  • Awsome, this was my 5th birthday. Just wish it could have been like my 15th instead so maybe I could have seen them live

  • fantasticccccccccc, is the besttt version.loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Holy Fuck I Pushed Post too many times.

  • even if that did happen, kurt would of still been on heroin

people are born to do things i believe, and kurt was born to write the songs he did and the albums and all that

but yeah, if he was famous or not i think he would of killed himself, sad to say

but i dont think nirvana was one of those bands to last for years

they manage so much in five years

amazing what five years can do to a person

  • Sometimes i kind of wish Nirvana would have never got that huge it kind of ruined it not the song writing but i think the band maybe Kurt would still be alive and Nirvana would still be around but i mostly wish that for Kurt's sake.

  • @Sappy22889 I think it is best the way it happened. I think Kurt got exactly what he wanted, but it was too bright when he finally reached it. Everyone got what they want...kurt is a legend...his family is taken care of finacially...he wrote amazing music...and kurts in a quiet place now

  • Sometimes i kind of wish Nirvana would have never got that huge it kind of ruined it not the song writing but i think the band maybe Kurt would still be alive and Nirvana would still be around but i mostly wish that for Kurt's sake.

  • I think i liked Nirvana shows a million times better before they got huge and were touring non stop like this one so pre Nevermind back then i think Kurt still actually liked playing shows.

  • really good...LIKE!!!!

  • feel the POWER! :D

  • LOL dave broke his snare in this show

  • Damn, they ripped thru Scoff!

  • Fucking kick ass Fender Gospel freakin love it good taste mr cobain

  • That is actually a Univox Hi Flier.

  • Oh and it's called a Mosrite Gospel anyway :P Didn't he have just one or so actual Mosrite Gospel?

  • Actually no he used a Univox since they were cheaper. He bought a Mosrite and gave it to Pat Smear.

  • Haha man I wish was Pat Smears :P And apparantly someone or other was working on getting kurt cobain his own personal Mosrite but he unfortunately died.

  • Its wierd how many people claim Kurt is a bad guitarist? The guy is unfuckinbelievable!!!! And to sing that incredible $hit on top of it.

Stand back all you guitar wanker losers the walmart music departement is calling you.

  • Agreed, he was great! Love this show, too bad the Northshore Club didn't pay their electrical bill.

  • I love how there are so many bootleg videos of Nirvana. They should have people send em all in so a DVD box can be compiled. You could probably include the best performances of nearly every song they played on it.

  • this is where Nirvana realy+ Started, I think

  • well not really when chad channing joined it all started and he was a good drummer too but this is when they really got tight this is the best era

  • i think Turnaround is a good song to end a show with.

  • and people still say kurt played elementary guitar.

    lets see them play this!

  • @ATOMsMasHER22 not only play, more important than that, play AND sing

  • man how was there a camera at ghorls first show? nirvana pwns foo fighters

  • they should've included scoff on with the lights out dvd best live version i reckon

  • This is the first time I've seen kurt playing a Mosright guitar. He usually played the "Univox high flyer", a copy of the Mosright.

  • i could swear kurt was wearing eyeliner lol

  • thats the first live take of Turnaround by them I've heard. badass!

  • Man there sure is alot of drugged up kids in that audience lol

    The 90's freakin ruled!!!

  • hahah thats Oly, Wa for you

  • Thank you so much for putting this video on youtube

  • Weird how they played "Sliver" It's neat to hear a diff version.

  • Man, they played like their lives depended on it.

  • shit dave owns chad at his own songs

  • i was looking for the show when kurt got his hair stuck in the guitar anyone know what im talking about?

  • hahah oh thats the Moore theater show with Tad and Mudhoney, Sub Pop Lamefest '89. i don think there is acual footage of him with his guitar stuck in his hair but you can see what lead up to that. Great show, the bouncers where really fucking assholes though...

  • lmao thanks

  • best performance of scoff ever.

  • naw dude check out the one in austria where kurt's guitar goes out for a little bit and krist had to take over on vocals

  • Looks like he had that same energy as a drummer from the very start, which is awesome. perfect fit for the loud energy of nirvana.

  • I was at this show! Awesome. I remember they kept blowing the circuit breaker.

  • I was gonna go, but my band wanted to rehearse that night. Did make it down to The Reef later though. I missed way too many cool shows around that era.

  • fuck man did you hear the Reef burned down? i bought a t shirt there not a month before it happened. its a shame i love that resturant.

  • It looks like they're hoping to re-build. There's a web address painted on the front window. I like the BBQ they put up on the reader board!

  • ah sweet!

  • aw man i don't think they are going to rebuild it now. whata a shame.

  • Scoff was great!

  • Really neat! Thanks for posting this.

  • thanks for posting this, Scoff was awesome. dave was a beast!

  • is, (wink)

  • yeah great show

    rock nirvana

i neve hear turnaround live before

  • its a devo cover

  • I really like Daves drumming on Love Buzz.He is my biggest inspirer coming from a drummer too.So anyways rock on dave!

  • what is the name of the 2nd song?

  • The song is called "Scoff" from the album Bleach. It's one of my favourite songs.

  • From about 6:50 to 6:53 you can hear a women yell out "Sliver" twice and a man yell out "In Bloom" a couple times in there i think, but it might just be "Blew" hes yelling. Then another man yells out "Lithium" repeatedly at 7:11, 7:17, 7:19, and 7:23. How does he know about Lithium when it hasn't been released yet? and if that other man IS yelling "In Bloom", well, same question. maybe hes saw the Sub Pop music video on TV? Highly doubtful. Also, does anyone know if North Shore is still around?

  • Ya i saw that i was kinda strange.

  • I heard the guy yell BLEW not in bloom but Thats just my hearing of it. The lithium thing....kinda creepy imo.

  • The North Shore turned into a club called Thekla. It closed years ago.

  • lithium, in bloom and sliver were played and many ocasions live before they were ever put on an album. both lithium and in bloom were written when chad was still in the band.

  • even lounge act was.

  • im actually moving to olympia in a month or so. I s thiis club defunkd. i think i heard somewhere it was. anyone know?

  • wow ive been looking everywhere for the rest of this show. I think kurt was very drunk. lol. thanks a bunch!

  • i enjoyed how out-of-tune kurt's guitar is

    on sliver.

  • Actually his guitar wasn't out of tune, he's just missing the right notes.

  • he was kind of drunk at this show

  • this video is fucking amazing!!!

  • Excellent video! Thanks!

  • This is also a diff angle from the show. The source seems to be just as good as cam angle on WTLO DVD.

  • Lol it's krist who shouting lithium I think!

  • I thought that too.

  • Yeah, they'd been playing Lithium for at least 6 months already :)

  • The crowd is asking for Lithium and the song is not even released yet?

  • No it wasn't. I think this show as performed in 1990. I haven't watched WTLO dvd in a while so don't quote me on that.

  • haha on a plain reference??

  • I didn't intend for it to be a refrence to the song, but nice to point that out. I never thought of that when i posted that comment here. :)

  • I wonder if Grohl had any idea when he played that gig that it would start him on the path to great commercial success, playing with most of his idols and being twice over a staple of MTV, first with Nevermind then with everything the Foos have done.. what do you people think?

  • I highly doubt it Nirvana hadn' achieved rock star fame quite yet.

  • Anyone think that the solo that starts at about 2:12 is one of the best ever? Also, what's that guitar Kurt is playing? Curious that a left-handed guitarist should play a right-handed guitar... but then so did Hendrix and if it's good enough for Hendrix, then it ought to be good enough for both Cobain and for me...

  • Kurt used a few Mosrite copies fitted with humbuckers, one of which is seen here.

  • Ah right! That's a damn nice guitar...

  • No, the guitar in question is a very rare Mosrite Gospel. Its completely stock except for the flipped strings. That guitar sold on ebay in 2002 I think, for $30,000.

Mosrite now makes a Kurdt copy.

  • dood love buzz and what r the other songs

  • Shit, is this what live music is supposed to be or what?

  • a blackut happened at this show, Nirvana had to reduce their equipment due to this, Ghrol had to limt his drum kit.

  • Dave Grohl proves the point, it's not what you play, it's how you play it. Shit drum kit, fantastic drummer. Sounds the bollocks.

  • dave grohl is a beast

  • Awesome!!!

  • Great stuff!!!

  • REAL AND PURE NIRVANA !!!

  • awesome!!

  • 5 stars all the way! I've only seen the love buzz performance of this show before! Post the whole show if you have it please!

  • Best version of scoff ever

  • this song makes me want to mosh

  • awesome video man. I'm a big Nirvana fan.

  • Gracias hace tiempo estaba buscando esto. dave definitivamente era el mejor para nirvana, no hubieran podido encontrar a alguien q suene tan bien para el grupo
