it looks pretty good. the only time I noticed a huge error was in the big fire ball towards the end. also, lens filters are nice, but I try to limit them myself as to limit the amount of picture blur based on color bias. I would be curious to see what this video looked like without the blue tint, color balanced and the explosions added with an additive transfer mode.
Ok, I can believe that. What package did you get the explosions from? The only good ones I see are the ground bursts. What I really wanted to do was learn trapcode particular and hopefully create some pretty realistic looking effects using that.
umm i dont remember what exact package i got the explosions from. but just experiment with different things until it looks right. ive never heard of trapcode. what is that?
Yes all the explosions were free. however realism isn't achieved simply by pasting the effects. I had to do color correction and gaussian blurs during movements. hope that helps!
xP not likely. are you talking about the key framing? believe it or not, i never actually shook the camera by hand except the running back to the house. most were large still video shot angles that were easily placed with effects and yeah. thanks for the feed back though ^_^
Oh well until you said that, I was going to say 'nice tracking'. I made something a few weeks ago, a meteor crashing down into my backyard (might put it up on youtube soon) but I was holding the camera and shaking it... MAN that was a bitch to track. I use AE though...
yeah, its easier to digitally create movement after the effects have been placed in. i believe AE has a camera shake plugin so that should be easier to do than vegas
The problem with that is that if you want the camera to rotate around while the effect is happening, the only way to do that is to have a wide angle lens, and just be zoomed into a small portion of it. The problem with that method is that I have a really crappy camera where even if I could jury rig up a wide angle lens onto it, the resolution is so low everything would be blurred out and gross.
If there is a camera shake plugin, I don't know about it. I just use 'The Wiggler' an AE feature.
yeah that was shot using a regular digital camera. I've recently bought a new HD camera that can be equipped with a wide angle lens attachment so it would be nicer to use but yea, digitally zooming in looses a lot of quality but its suppose to simulate a regular hand held camera anyway so oh well haha.
I dont use AE so i can't really tell you. but one of my friends does so it might have a different name for that plugin. but yea, thanks for the feedback really appreciate it.
lol yea its really nice though ive only been using the standard def lately cuz my computer is really slow on the high def so its ok and plus the standard is already clear as hell so i find it really convenient.your probably going to hate me but i have the jvc everio gz-hd7 which is one of the top of the line consumer camcorders. the color match on this thing is near perfect and has all manual controls. im going to post test clips later so hopefully the days of digital camera will be over finally
Yea that's the one I want. One of my friends has that one, it looks so awesome. Within the next few days I might have that meteor thing uploaded to here. I'll PM you when I get it up.
@LazyCoder lol, HD really isn't that better from hq(Xept colors)but hd is cheaper(Fro some reason). Look for: FPS, widescreen, and features(Like an ANTI-SHAKE device or something).

Did you use the free explosions or did you pay for yours? I can't find any free explosions that look that realistic.

Ah dang! I want an HD camera! I'm stuck with this crappy camera that likes to screw around with the colors on the edges of objects.
