jim hendrix and jim morrison both died when they were 27, they were self destructive lol, older people think their generation was the best because that was the time when they were young and had no responsibilities, we will be the same when we were older about music in the future. I am an old friend of yours... mary.. louise mulligans mate.. you went out with her!!! ha ha... look at you now!!!!Mad hair as always!!! Ya havent changed a bit!!!
jackshirack2: U come across as de twat , de fella is allowed t have his opinion on music as ur r allowed urs so grow the hell up, its all a bit of craic anyway :P
I've been thinkin a lot recently that people my age in 20 or 30 years will look back on the 00's and think what I think about the 80's: that it was a dire decade. I'm hopin against hope that maybe the 10's and 20's can somehow bring back the quality of the 60's and 70's...but I'm not holdin my breath
You're not funny mate you're just ignorant. If you knew anything about hip hop you'd know that it was in its prime early nineties and late 80's, also the content of lyrics are different with different rappers mate. Do some proper research before you call something shit. Come across as a bit of a twat.
Stumbled upon this little gem whilst looking for Korg M50 vids...what's that all about? Anyway...top stuff Robbie, keep em coming :) Oh And Hip Hop? Yeah...there's real talent. Maybe I should stick my keyboard in a loop with some repetitive sampled vocals, get myself some heavy gold chains and clothes that dont fit and then...well...who needs the lottery! Oh...I forgot...I don't come from the slums...bugger :(
Well the only video I've got up is of a game I've played but if it's of any consolation to you I think you're a right good laugh and will be having a peruse of your other vids :)
he doesn't seem to actually have a clue what hes saying, he was born in the 70's he said, the decade it was invented yet he sai he was born a long time from its invention. also he doesn't have an understanding of life in a proper slum so he has no right to judge their 'moaning'. hip hop in the charts isnt hip hop imo it is pop music made to be popuar. hip hop is a culture, still underground that he knows nothing about and therefore has no right to judge
Nice one Robbie.Good stream of ideas and left of field thinking. You seem to have struck a chord with other bus users on noise pollution a.k.a todays music. Keep on rocking in the free world.
I arrived here after seeing this as a featured video...and as it happens I am between wanks at the moment..go figure?....I had no idea what to expect......but have to say man...really good vid.....funny stuff.......the youth of Dublin are ripe for comedy plundering........I'll be checkin' out yer other vids.
BTW, "Rockwell" was a pseudonyn of one Kennedy Gordy, he being responsible for the sort of kind of rap in a faux posh voice. The bit that everyone remembers - the chorus, was sung by one Michael Jackson...yeah, THAT Michael Jackson. So, you say, how do you get Michael Jackson to do backing vocals on your track? Well, given that the guy who owns Motown Records is called Berry Gordy, this may well give you a clue.
Man that was fucking funny:)Although he should have talked about how crap dance music is!!! Like i mean thats the worst kind of music ever created!!!!!
Thanks mate! Yeh, there's nothing worse than getting on the bus and realising you forgot your ipod, and now have to listen to gobshites for 40 minutes!
hehe modern music sucks donkey balls, hip hop ain't even music its stupid beats lol, old school rap i will admit was good, but the only decent music around nowadays is instumental rock, or metal, also Irish/Celtic music is much better than the shit you hear on the radio or tv lol
students in ireland get a free ride on the backs of PAYE workers. so let students pay all fees for third and fourth level education. and before you ask i attended college in the u.s.a and paid all fees myself. i'm irish too.
PAYE workers will get a free ride off those students in the future; when the students are earning big salaries and paying high tax, they will pay the dole of the PAYE workers. And fourth level is fee-paying already.
I agree with you on almost every point and I understand where you're comin' from on it being hard to listen to new music, but I find that it's worth the effort to seperate the wheat from the chaff to find that one gem(the dirtbombs, brant bjork, bobby conn, QOTSA)a personal example. As a 70s kid, my teens and everything before we're all that mattered, I found that slating everything new that came my way was a systematic way of alienating myself from other decent music fans. Anyway, good speach.
Well said, Robbie. I was born in 1975. I'm from Cork btw. I tuned out in the autumn of 2001. At 25, the last great song I heard was "The Pyramid Song" by Radiohead. I still listen to the same music I did when I was 15. All classic rock. The 60's were golden. The 80's were anaemic. I've also heard my 82 year old grandmother tunelessly sing "We were the rock n' roll kids. Rock n' roll was all we did" What has it all come to?
you say that after the age of 23 you didnt absorb new music, so isnt it unfair for you to have a debate on how much modern music 'sucks'? i cant stand hip hop thats just personal preference though i sure dont debate against it because i dont like it. music is like fashion as you get older you tend to loose touch with fashion, music moves on and you dont lol doesnt mean new fashion is shit
Wrong... He expresses his opinion as part of a "Debate". Also the video title is not a comment, it's a question. This means it's an open discussion and that you can share your opinion.
And the whole point in a debate is to collect different opinions and understand them. You say you don't debate against it but without a negative view then how would it be a debate?
Ignorant prik!...hip hop nowadays is rubbish yer but this dude don't know the origins of this music and how it was back in the day...do ur research u dik and cut ur hair u ugly jack russell
I think you need to look up the meaning of debate. You put your view accross and are flaming others when arguing against you, thats the whole point of a debate. You have just made a personal statement on how much you think modern music sucks and not letting others 'debate' against it.
And I did laugh a few times so you did your job - it's obvious that you weren't debating - I liked your answer to wolfey as well and that made me laugh!! So what do you think of bands like Dream Theater and Opeth?
I havent heard any Theater or Opeth, I'm afraid.. They're probably more my brother's tastes. I'm not really into metal, as such, more into Floyd, Doors, The Who, etc...
I got a real "Mr.Bonham Goes To Washington" vibe ... smashin' stuff as always! Can't believe you didn't have a go at the little emo/goths ... or is that too much like shooting fish in a corset?
What hip hop evolved into is certainly shit. Some of the early hip hop hasn't stood the test of time, but there is some great music still, clever lyrics etc. I recommend Kool Keith. Hip hop is a whole sub culture with it's own history. The real musical horror is that crappy euro rave shit. Isn't it cheating to reply to your own videos with "video responses"? Oh well.
And yes, modern music Does suck. I'm only 16 and I already think every song past 1992 and every band formed after 1985 suck(s). :D
