He's right to point out that European countries such as the Brits, Dutch and Poles are doing most of the 'heavy lifting' in the south, now alongside the US, while the Italians, Germans, and French are not really pulling their weight in the same way- this has been going on for years. As for the British involvement. We now have 10,000 soldiers- more than twice as many as either Germany or France (or any other European NATO country, and Britain's been fighting that war on the front line in Afghanistan since 2005. The only reason why Britain is not sending anymore is due to lack of commitment from both Germany and France, and also the fact that the Afghan war has now become very unpopular in the UK.
