  • AWESOME

  • Whoa judging by looking at ur window do u live near a river??!!! Bad ass dude

  • Awesome as usual remy. Don't know why i haven't subscribed yet, so i might as well do that right now

  • Hey man you are fantastic! im a beginner, and i´m having problems with my right hand... do you rest it on the bridge?

  • good shit man. good shit.

  • far out man! Sweet guitar by the way!

  • BBAADDAASSSS

  • You really make me wanna practice!

  • I want to pick up that lick phrasing pattern because I pick just about everything I play.

I guess sometimes though it just calls for rolls and pulls for speed.

Still gonna' have to "see" it on bar to get it man!'

You make it look too damn easy!

    My hat's off to ya'!

  • well...damn

  • holy.....................SHIT!

  • Simply awesome!

  • Thats incredible! Must have taken a long time to get it so perfect!!!!

  • Hearing this guy i think about Paul. Awesome skills!

  • fucking skill....yea that fucking skill!!! man that was awesome. 10/5

  • dude it was almost as good as the man himself

  • great playing bro such great technique

  • omfg i love the ibanez thats my favorite ibanez paul ever used

  • nice !

  • Belachelijk hoe toevallig, ben er over na aant denken om de pgm-300 te kopen, dus ff paul gilbert filmpjes aan het kijken. krijg ik een kei vette cover, van degene die me dit weekend geholpen heeft :O

  • My darn guitar only has 21 frets I cant even hit those higher notes without tuning my guitar up and risking breaking a string. great job man very very very Cool!

  • this is a really nice cover by the way!

  • Nicely done man.

Clean sound, a few extra notes in there somewhere but 9.8/10!

  • Wow can someone please explain to me how it's possible to pick that fast? I mean I can move my left hand just fine, but my picking hand is REALLY slow :'(

  • to me, depending on the song, it helps to have a slightly thinner pick. something around a .60mm is nice to play with and it makes it easier for things like drill picking and generally fast picking. or you could just try some right handed warm-ups before you play each time.

  • how heavy are ur picks and u mite not hold it confortably enuf too =P

    ill help ya

also its not all about your right hand, your left needs to keep up

  • I use really heavy picks, and it feels comfortable when I hold the pick, my left hand is also there, but for some reason my right hand is just blah!

  • There are so many things in answer to that that its impossible to sum up in one comment. The bare basics would be practice really really slowly, keep your picking hand extremely relaxed, obviously use alternate picking and try and make the movements as tiny as physically possible.

Consistancy is also very important, even if you only have a limited amount of practice time each day try and set a timer for say 5 mins and EVERY day practice the same lick for that 5 mins really slowly.

  • Dont expect improvement instantly it will take a few weeks but I guarantee it will happen if you keep it up. Practicing to a metronome is also extremely important but you need to be at a certain level first before you really start to benefit from that so if you are currently struggling at say 100bpm then dont bother with it just yet. Just practice consistantly at very slow speeds with a really relaxed picking hand making the smallest possible movements. Its just muscle memory. Good luck!

  • try tilting your pick to an angle and using a thin pick, .60mm usually is good enough. takes some practise

  • this is pgm 300 or what

  • pgm301

  • Remy, I seem to have trouble getting my fingertips articulated with the fretboard, what do you recommend?

  • how the hell do u play this i looked up the tab its like impossible i can only play the part before the solo

  • Wtf no..........

It's actually ONE OF THE HARDEST FREAKING SOLOS EVER

  • it's confusing not difficult.

  • that was totally awsome

  • This is Legen...wait fooor it..dary!!! :)

5 stars man, sounds just like original

  • Nice picking! Awesome 5 stars!

  • niceee

  • his video is of guitar. Why the fuck would he be a drummer?

  • My god, I would have never though to see the day when someone has no common sense. It's a joke man don't be an idiot.

  • Jokes are supposed to be funny.

  • I lol'd guys

  • best solo cover ever!:)5 stars!:)

  • Wow. Nice cover dude.

  • thats a great solo and you nailed it. very nice

  • That was spot on man. Radical

  • I gotta tell you man. I'm not easily impressed and you just impressed the hell out of me. Great job!!

  • You should put drums and bass, it was awesome

  • Nevermind, I just read Miguel50912's comment. Sorry for the confusion lol, but phenomenal playing anyway

  • If you could send me a link to the tab that your using it would be GREATLY appreciated, its hard to find an accurate solo tab. Great job though, Paul would be proud.

  • Your so good you don't even need backing music. No sarcasm intended.

    Awesome shreading.

  • Well that was REALLY good, and i rarley say that on youtube! good work

  • amazing , does anyone know where he got the tab for the solo ? much appreciated x

  • I did it all by ear Miguel!

And that I wrote down and practised just that!

Also I look at how Paul plays it to get the right positions and stuff!

    Thanx

  • @remyhansen You seem to be a Paul Gilbert expert so I'm gonna chose you to answer my weird question.See i know paul(and you)bend the pick horisontally to the guitar so that the pick doesn't "stick" to the string(And also produce the scrachy sound) but what about bending the pick vertically? What angle does the pick have when it touches the string?I know this is a weird question. It seems like marty friedman angles his pick that way if that helps any.Do you and paul do sth similar? Thanks in advance

  • @mhtsos12 Hmmmm.... Let's see...

Actually when I pick my strings mostly I have it at a 40-45 degree angle to the string.

It's just a bit easier that way , because there's almost no Resistance coming from the string that way.

The more " Vertically" you go, it'll get easier ( And on the Lower strings more scratchy), BUT.... You'll lose a lot of Volume and body in your sound!

So Basically on my E And B strings I'd have the pick more Horizontal than Vertical.

    Hope that helps!

    Best,

    Remy

  • @remyhansen ok thanks a lot.

I know i'm fucking lucky and i don't let the chance go away without me, i asked for twice a week ^^. Anyway, might be better to continue this nice talking by PM... as you wish. If you have any question, ask now because tonight at 8pm the lesson begins and you'll have to wait till the next.

  • ok ummm..........you should ask him if he ever plans on going to California in the US

  • beautiful guitar

  • hey man, that was pretty spot on!

i only really noticed one delay with timing.

but that makes no difference really.

    amazing stuff.

    and nice PGM!

i wanted to get one, but bought a gibson explorer instead.

    ...damn me. :[

  • Glad to see an Ibanez PGM go to someone who actually deserves to play one, nice job...

btw, your pose at the end of the video reminded me of the "dramatic chipmunk" pose... very cool!

  • holy macaroni youre good!!!

  • At 25 seconds I noticed you going to grab the whammy bar to add some vibrato, it's a tough habit to break aint it?

    Great playing.

  • Actually I turned my volume all the way up at that point:) Look closely.

    Thanx for the kind words!

  • Ah the volume knob placement is different on the PGMs! My Mistake, however I still find myself going for the bar on guitars :p

  • Don't sweat it dude!

    Rock on Bro!

  • Except there is no whammy bar on the PG signature ibanez. It's a hardtail bridge.

    Awesome playing dude!!!!!!!!! Love it!!

  • I was saying that (I thought) I saw him go to grab the bar as if there is one there, because if you're used to bars (like me) it's hard to remember there isnt a bar on the guitar.

  • dude, you scare me each and every time ;)

  • you're a great guitar player Remy, keep on rocking man
