@larjanus I did some Googling and heard he had passed away. Silly question here, but was his actual name Baron or was he titled? Always wondered. Recall seeing pics of him doing breaking techniques, quite impressive.
@bobdavidwright no it was his name, not a title. He was a Grand Master, having been taught by his parents from childhood (he once showed me a board breaking technique that totally amazed me, then told me I was too old to learn it!). He was a lovely, even friendly man, but woe betide the idiot who tried to take a liberty with him...he had more power in one finger than most ordinary men possess in their entire bodies. He was respected by all who knew him.
@larjanus On my travels over 35 years ago I spoke to his student Lajos Jakab in London. I was surprised to see that he was actually lame in one leg but didn't interfere with his ability as a Kung Fu instructor.
Supreme Grand Master William Aguiar, My Dad studied in Chicago with Count Dante, he became close friends with a Sensei name Dave Lekki (not sure of last name spelling) I was just a kid I remember metting Sensei Dante and was Impressed, he had a aura of power. So did one of his Sensei's Dave, Dave we believe was actually psychic, a very quiet nice person, My father told me Dave
The Tournament was held I believe around 1974or 75 It was held at The Roseland Ball room and it really was declared death matches, it was a tournament between schools in the bristol County area, bill Aguir,Bill Marzerrelli,Pat casey and Counte Dante was there but he was on bail so he could fight or his bail would have been violated and he would have been brought to jail so there was soome challenges made and these people making the challenges to fight him knew this (Case Closed) This is a fact
I am black and I respect Count Dante. I study these movements because I see these movement could easly defeat a master if he or she is not carful. Movement are not racist people are. A racist could still be a master of deadly movement.
This Man is not a joke god rest his soul, he was my teacher in the 70's and he was well respected as was Count Dante who I trained with and fought in the Roseland Ballroom tourney and finished 2nd in my class which I have a photo of recieving it from this MAN! He is no joke and never was,it so easy these days to be a keyboard tough guy!
Was that the Taunton Death Matches held around 1975? I'm in Australia and read about that in Official Karate magazine. And to think this was many years before UFC and similar.
To the obviously ignorant critics, let me assure you, if you stepped on the mat with Bill Aguiar you would learn very quickly that he is no phony and his skills are certainly no joke.
Take this for what it's worth... about 25 years back I asked my sensei at the time, Raymond "Buddy" Van Boven (6th dan in goju under Grand Master Peter Urban, and a Special Forces combat vet in Vietnam), who he thought was the deadliest man he'd ever met personally. He answered with no slightest hesitation and in a matter of fact manner, "Count Dante".
@larjanus The same guy that taught a Kung Fu chap named Lajos Jakab? I remember seeing pics of Omedi in Jakab's booklet.

@bobdavidwright The very same! Omidi was a little guy who packed a HUGE wallop. He loved women and sports cars too.
