Yeah this song was written 1998 so it's a possibility that Dallas Green took some inspiration from it. The funny thing is, the lead singer of The Tragically Hip, Gordon Downie, was featured in City and Colour's song Sleeping Sickness! So there is a good chance we're correct.
Funniest part of this song for me was the fact i lost my v-card to a Thompson girl :)
