enterbrain should use the linear battle motion for their next rpg maker or have a list of selections of battle styles such as first person view or atb system

I enjoyed the first one, and the last one. Both battle systems were very unique. One realistic, and the other just awesome. Wish I could do that.

OK, I've heard that VX is easier to use, but does it have better "graphics" and options than XP? I'm thinking about which one to get.

If you are not familiar with XP or older game makers i recommand VX. You can download 30-days trails to try them out.

Use YouTube to watch tutorials. I have a basic event tutorial. VX Features:

Some kind of pokemon gaphics

Quick Event creations, Doors, Chests Inns etc.

You can always download scripts or rescources. like side veiw battle system.

itr depend at the begin xp have better graphic than vx but you can modify them so the graphic can be better and yes there a lot of better option

no, im pretty sure vx had more battlers, but they didnt match the chars.

i wish they did as many battlers as 2003 though...and a side view battle system

I understand all the easy parts of scripting for RPG maker games, but when it comes to the battle system it drives me insane. Is there an actual tutorial somewhere that explains how to script a battle system like the first game shown?

The thing about rpg maker VX is that its ment for scripter's unless you want the suckish OMFG I HIT A NON MOVING PIC gameplay.

actually, the battle system you saw at the beginning there (I'm assuming that's the one you are talking about) is not the default battle system that comes with rpg maker vx. It only has the crappy first person fighting style, where you don't get to see your person, and the monsters are just still pictures. To get a cool side view battle system, it takes a lot of programing.

AND I don't mind the default battle system, I've got tons of scripts for it anyway.
