...AND THAT Patsy co-wrote the words to this song with Dwayne.(She also co-wrote the music for the song "MIDNIGHT RIDE".) What I now need to know is:a)did Patsy write (or co-write) any songs on any of her solo records from circa 1970 onwards? and: b)was this the only record ever made where her name is listed the way it is? Thanks for reading this! (and-in advance-for answering these questions.) And thanks again, riptidesome, for posting this song....
....organ/keyboard that was only seen on the TV screen.(For I [not unreasonably] presumed that he would have a full band playing with him;and [perhaps also] Patsy would be performing too.) The last subject to state vis-a-vis this song is:it wasn't until I saw the back cover (and also the enclosed lyric sheet) of "NEEDLESS FREAKING" (again,a number of years after I first heard the song)that I realized that Patsy Gallant's name was listed as "Patricia Ann Gallant"....
...that-before she became famous with "From NY to LA" and such-Patsy did sing background vocals and such;so it is/was interesting that she is now/then back to doing background vocals again.(Presently,I cannot recall if this on-air announcer also made mention of Dwayne & Patsy being married;and I also cannot recall if I read/heard this fact in 1981,1982 or 1984.) This all established,I found it intersting (surprising?) that (on the already-cited Alan Thicke TV show) it was just Dwayne & his..
I must now state that--once or twice or a few more times after I first heard (in late 1981 or in early 1982) this song on Toronto radio station CFRB--I recall one of the male on-air announcers making mention that Patsy Gallant is also singing on this song.(OF COURSE,she is the one who sings the line "She's just like a fool in love" and also "Love is alive".) Like many others,I would have already known of Patsy from circa 1976 onwards. The announcer also made an interesting observation (contd.)
It was in the fall of 1998 that I had the good fortune to purchase this record (inside a record store [that was independantly run] that-unfortuneately-is not still in operation;here in Toronto,Canada). It was in 1988 (when I purchased that 1982 book "HEART OF GOLD" [something of a history of the Canadian recording/performng industry etc. up to that time] which came out to correspond to the Feb. 1982 CBC TV special of the same name) that I learned of the title of the LP that this song was from...
I also remember hearing this song on certain radio stations. (Both in Toronto [where I have lived all my life] and in St.Catherines;I definitely heard this song on
Toronto's CFRB1010 [in both 1981 and 1982] and on St.Catherine's 1220 CHSC [up to the early part of 1984].) THAT STATED,I also had the good fortune to see Dwayne perform this song on Alan Thicke's weekday daytime TV talkshow (this would be on the CTV network) sometime in the summer of 1982. (I'll add more in the next post.)

I love this song!!! I was able to transfer it to mp3 from my vinyl copy of "Needless Freaking." The sound quality isn't as good as this though.
I remember hearing this song on Canadian radio back in the early 80's.
Dwayne wrote The Keane Brother's track "Sherry."
Thanks for posting!
