  • I really hope, together with some of my fellows, to come in visit to Cern centre soonest! thanks for uploading this important historical moment related to Lhc.!

  • Can someone who speaks english explain what happend instead????

  • The R is 1 billionth of an Ohm and the reason for break down is because the R of the initial material was 200 times more ?. Even then, the R is an infinitesimally small value . I can not even imagine how delicate these systems are. :o

  • what we can learn from this giant laboratory about the nature of matter is about the same as what we can learn about the nature of knitting wool by smashing a pair of socks into each other at 99% of the speed of light. Now that's worth all the effort.

Particles are a myth, All is space interacting with itself in wave pattern.

  • @rinchendawa go buy a Particle Physics for Dummies. :)

  • @Blacklizzy007 why should i do that? if you understand quantum physics you know that particles exist only for the time we observe them. a wave function collapses in any way we intend it to collapse, which is built into the design of the experiment. as long as particles are not observed they exist as a standing wave of electromagnetic energy. maybe you should by a Quantum Physics for Dummies?

  • @rinchendawa sure I will, I just don't think myth is the correct term to use, hundreds of theories are based on particles, particles interaction and movements and thanks to many of them we are and we live the way we do. My apologies I underestimated your knowledge.

  • @Blacklizzy007 maybe "myth" is not correct to use. What I meant is that the idea of a "solid something" called particle is an obstacle to thinking, since it does never exist. When we collapse a standing wave, we do not gain something solid, but another standing wave - eventually more than one. Analog to when two waves in the ocean crash into one another. what you get is not "ice cubes", but a pattern of various other waves. space is an unbounded ocean of structural information.

  • We hit it off so well after another visit busizz4me.info

  • Anyone happen to notice the 666 in their logo?

  • she is the sexiest particle physicist EVER!!!

  • @TheOnlyDYN what lives?

  • @slisherslash they collided the particles in a way that one particle had more energy than the other. You cannot collide hadrons at any other than a equal energy. Has anyone else but me studied basic physics. What a cover up for a booo booo.

  • @noriceburners i still dont see how that puts billions of lives at risk...

  • Quick question. No matter my position on this 'tense' experiment, does anyone know of a website that they constantly show their results and findings?? Anything of the sort would be great!! Thanks!

  • this is a very very bad idea just wait for it

  • bastards, could of kill us

  • im too lazy to whip out ohms law,i wonder how much voltage they need to create such current?

  • Why would they even waste money doing this

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa its people like you that are the reason retards roam this planet

  • and what, this supposed to bring us closer to understanding the origins of the world? LOL. dont' make me laugh. there's still the question of the intelligence of engineering of the entire universe. WHO created it, and WHY. so who cares two protons collided. it is happening all the time in the cosmos. and on earth. but 6 billion could have fed a lot of people.... we still suck as people if we let science get away with ignoring basic facts, there's hungry and sick people out there who need help.

  • @subbanda whining pussy grow up this is the future face it and stop moaning like some religious fag

  • @MrJermbob Dude please get on your knees and suck my cock after that im gonna make you eat the corn out of your moms shit

  • @subbanda Well you're happy to reap the benefits of controversial research and experiments like this. Hell, they've all led to where we are now. Particle physics will have more of an effect on your life than you'll ever know, it's even possible that you may be sat infront of a particle accelerator when you read this, so don't diss scientists who are willing to push the boundaries. They got funding to do this experiment, it's their duty to carry it out.

  • @subbanda There's a lot less hungry and sick people out there today because of science. And as far as I'm aware there is already enough food on this planet for everyone, we have plenty of resources, even if they're being distributed badly, scientific research shouldn't go on hold because of that. It doesn't boil down to a choice between building CERN and feeding the planet, we can do both.

  • @wowsa0 Its not about science but political will

  • Science is a gift, the cureaus, imaginational quest,. To the creation in exploreing the eternal relm of the subconcuis, supernatural devine. Live by my word and thow shall not be forgoten we are a thought of the creator liveing on his subconcuis relm we have yet to be!!!!!!!

  • science is useless, what is going to happen if we dont know precious chemisrty? nothiing, its uselss

  • @ alion06

You're right! Lets go back to bashing each others heads over camp fire legends and bronze age myths. At least the dark ages had character.

  • The beautiful irony is that you're bashing science while using the internet, on a computer that runs on electricity.

You obviously don't find science as useless as you claim :)

  • ohhhh yaa i forgot, in 30 years ago when there was no internet no one could live or function, evreyone just sat there and waited till they died. yes i use the interent, i use alot of things that science has helped, but we dont NEED it to live, in my ideal world there would be no retarded ass sciences. now iims ure you could find hundreds of things wrong with what i said, but its only an opinion, so dont bother

  • Comment removed

  • So... you're saying that in your ideal world, people would live to the ripe old age of 35, maybe 40, season their food with dirt, think that the world was flat and cower in fear during solar eclipses.

You would see no need for personal hygiene and spread diseases with reckless abandon.

You would think that sea monsters would get you if you sailed too far.

Yes, your ideal world sounds very lovely. I've met some people who disregard education, but none so adamantly as you. Truly amazing.

  • like i said its an opinion, as is what you said so there

  • Actually, what I stated was an observation based on things that science has given us, which without, our culture would not exist in any way shape or form like it does today. In its place you would have a primitive, uneducated and frankly savage society. Your opinion is uninformed, and if you post it on a public forum, you should expect somebody to comment on it.

I would be more than happy to debate the issue with you :)

  • hmmm well i say your brain is uninformed, and a savage and uneducated society...whats wrong with that??? hahaha, well dude this is youtube, and if you act like your smarter than you really are, youve gota expect someone to call you out on it right??

  • Call away :)

  • And if you want to see what is wrong with a savage, uneducated society, move to Iran.

  • like i said theres nothing wrong with it its the perfect enviroment

  • @Poeticnuisance your the definition of iran

  • @MrJermbob and that means... what exactly?

  • @Poeticnuisance Dont listen to that fuck

  • @Poeticnuisance "...season their food with dirt..." LOL!

  • @alion06 That's not an opinion, it's just a lie.

  • what most creationist retard dont understand is when someone says "recreating the conditions after the big bang" ...we dont literally mean recreating the big bang ...

we mean recreating a small part of the conditions present after the big bang , at a very small scale ...

on the scale of 2 protons ..when they crash they create a shower of new particle from the energy of the colission and that shower is similar to the first second of the big bang when there was nothing but single particles.

  • You're right except for one thing. They don't collide '2 protons', they collide dense bundles of protons (the density is referred to as the beam luminosity). MANY collisions occur at once creating the shower of particles.

At least you understand that we aren't creating a 'big bang' as many fools misinterpret.

  • i realise its more than 2 protons lol

but what is interesting is from 2 protons alone u dont get 6 particles as u would expect (the 6 quarks) or decay products of the quarks , u literally get tens maybe hundreds of particles from just 2 protons if the energy is high enough , since extra energy means extra mass , and extra mass means extra decay products

and from a shower of protons u get hundreds maybe thousands of decay products.

  • i just hope no politicias are involved

  • It is the human race evolving, brace for a wonderful change.Science is explaining some of what Jesus was talking about.

  • Jesus is a made up fairy talke

  • Lol, Jesus, stupid creationist, open your eyes to the lies of religion!

  • Why do people get Jesus mixed up with religion? You are right, religion is a smoke screen covering what is really happening. It has been twisted and altered.I really have to do a video on this.Anyhow, thanks for the comment.

  • yea sure, Jesus is teaching us quantum physics

  • yes. Science has knowlege about the pineal gland for a long time. When Jesus said "You can move mountains..." He meant...you can move mountains. He was talking of using that part of the brain. The book of Thomas reveals things of this nature, but,we are can't see that book...says the Vatican.

  • Jesus wouldn't put up with the shit peopel are doing to one another, and he is not.Everyone will see the return.Mark my words.200 years ago when someone said humans are going to re-create the conditions of the starting of the Universe you would call them crazy. Or, tell them about 911...you be locked up. That is nothing compared to me saying a dude is going to come and get his people.

  • So that's what religion is really about huh? Staying back and not daring to step forward in order to search for answers? Feeling the promise of an ancient book would provide you with enough answers so that you no longer need to explore and discover is that what you are telling me? If science is replaced by religion, we would still be writing using feather pens on parchment and believing that thunder and lighting is really the wrath of the gods (or God).

  • proper wanker you arn't ya

  • Then, they found quarks and gluons. I don't know, the whole thing is giving me a headache.

  • What a waste..these colliders dont do crap for humanity...better to spend the money on cancer research or the next xbox

  • We have to wish CERN well, because, humans are made to wonder why. As a 2 year old child you reach out to an orange your mom put on the table...humans are curious. It is the way God means it to be.

  • Someone should be the adult then and tell the two year old to quit playing around

  • The collider is cancer research and much much more. What they find there, will change everything from travel, to medicine ,to nutrition, to novel ways of storing information.

  • ...and CERN are humans reaching out to the orange mom put on the table to see what it is. So, the orange is the outcome of LHC,not the collider itself .The two year old, is the human race (CERN),and,Mom is God. Hahaha! See, I knew God was a woman. If it wasn't for woman, there would be no human race. Go figure.

  • You are crazy. CERN hasnt done crap but waste alot of money...You say they will change travel, medicine, nutrition....but have they actually done?? NOTHING

  • ur wrong there mate, theyve broken the worlds most expensive machine lmao

  • Hahaha thats the only thing they have accomplished huh lmao

  • Well, about 20 years ago, a scientist @ CERN,dreamed up the World Wide Web.His name is Tim Berners-Lee.Google it.

  • CERN also invented Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).MRI technology can look right into your body and show a doctor if a patient has broken bones or disease...in 3D.

  • Ok mabe I'm using the wrong description..by CERN I'm meaning the LHC collider...nothing has come out of it.

  • The doc can see inside at diffent angles too.

  • yeah, they said it to some ppl trying to program computers during the war

    and here you are.

  • @scuds03:

Well in Heidelberg there is a new Ion Beam Center where you can burn out cancer cells in the brain without opening the head, and without colleteral dmg. It works perfect and they discovered the physics for that in just such a particle collider in germany. In fact the center is a particle colider with some extras...

Check it out on google: Heidelberg Ion Beam Therapy Center.

The best is if I have have brain cancer, german public health will pay my bill.

  • and to think that your country lost the war ...how come america is so shit and germany is so awsome??

  • I'd like to interconnect my shaft with the girl in the tight red pants magnet!! ;-)

  • @lakewood85 shut up that's my Mom!

  • most people wonder what is 'out there' as in space and the universe. thats interesting yes and the whole how big is it etc. but for me at least the real fascination is with smallness, or 'innerspace' as it were. what you have to ask yourself is if there is no limit to how big u can be, is there alimit to how small u can be? like a fundamental particle or string where if u were to go any smaller u would no longer be in existence? fascinating stuff.

  • A century ago, they opened up the atom and found the most obvious particles, the nucleus and it's orbiting electrons.

  • Comment removed

  • Then, they opened up the nucleus and found the protons and neutrons.

  • Has it actually done anything?

I'm actually interested, what has it done?

  • pathetic waste

1 TeV: one teraelectronvolt about the kinetic energy of a flying mosquito

fools wasting gigantic gobs of money

  • actually it will function at 14TeV and you have to consider thats the energy of a bundle of protons, not of a kg of iron (mosquitos are made of trillions of atoms)

Whats more productive, spending $500 million for each tomahawk cruise missle? .. or the $6 bill into a device which will answer the most fundamental questions surrounding our reality?

  • Its not run by one government, its run by 23 governments.

Its also the largest and most complex piece of technology human beings have ever made by a long shot.

There is in fact resources on their day to day progress in powerpoint form, but ... frankly ... they are far too detailed and technical for 99.9% of society to understand a word of.

If you actually ASKED though instead of just being a dick i'd have been glad to give you a link.

  • @mdma4life The tomahawks are far more useful

  • Ha. way to get your analogies straight from Wikipedia.

mdma4life (nice username, btw) already said pretty much what I was going to say...so yeah, no need to say anything more. What he said.

  • The Pile of Junk is already broke down again.

    under tight lips.

  • When do they expect to find the ultmate particle?

  • wow

    fantastic accents

I really couldn't concentrate on the information much

  • imagine the god particle being found 2012 december !!! ARMAGEDDON!

  • get the FUCK out of the science section

  • imagine you being an idiot....oh we dont have to

  • what is LHC wat does it do?

  • SHIT HAPPENS!!! Anyway now that we're up and running again let's find that boson!

  • It's ok, a new LHC can be spawned by pressing L1, L2, R1, R2, UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, LEFT, DOWN, UP, TRIANGLE, X.

  • after spending BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, common sense would tell me to run a current or whatever test to verify the resistance or lack thereof , of the superconducting element. My guess is the head of the Electrical Design team was banging the gorgeous CFO of the LHC. Then..... they broke up after a heated argument about the existence of the Higgs particle and subsequently the Electrical Engineer guy "forgot to run the test" DOHHHH

  • @rts100x5 That's a great analysis of the situation. I love it when people lace their arguments with "or whatever" You forgot what it takes to measure the lowest resistance on earth? The uhm "whatever test" you referred to is at the center of your argument. DOHHHH!

  • maybe they will seek your infinite wisdom the next time it breaks down. Oh it allready did because of a bread crum. Did you get the call in the middle of the night to come and fix it or to offer your ideas on the matter?

I certainly didn't and I only offer my uneducated opinion because that seems to be the norm here on you tube. So thanks for your uneducated and timely feedback. You fit right in.

  • @rts100x5 I never offered to fix it. I am educated enough to know that both you and I don't know how to measure and test resistances of 6x10E-9. So we can't pass judgment on them

  • LHC keeps shutting down because it's trying to violate the laws of the Universe. The particles they are attempting to find are traveling backwards in time to prevent their creation. They will NEVER find these particles. But they will find something else.....

  • You can not violate a natural law... or it would not be a natural law...

speak of "violate the laws of the Universe. " us just nonsense...

  • Who is the babe.. She is nice. oh abt the LHC.. well it will be ok.. Now this babe is mmmmmmmmmmmmm. A short skirt will make the report a bomb.. LOL

  • Also understand that if we travel in the direction of the location where the Big Bang took place in a straight line, when we get there we will find that it has spread just as far and farther if we maintain that straight line course past the event location. You'll find that this also happened with time. You can trace time in the opposite direction of the one in which we are forced to progress and you'll find that the Big Bang also created some 13-14 billion years "before" the Big Bang...get it?

  • There are no biginnings and ends. There is only change. Our Universe is the product of a single point in some other Universe. Throughout nature, things come from other things like them. Rock from a mountain, a human baby from a human. There is nothing that comes from something that is nothing like it. Although the Universe from which ours evolved may be nothing like ours. Our dimention of time might their length. Our Universe expands in every direction as fast as possible.

  • In the end you will find that every point in our Universe at every point in time is, at the very moment you observe it, some other Universe's "Big Bang." Every point point of our Universe has infinite potential. The Universe has SO much energy and potential that it can't fit any of it anywhere and must therefore remain in a state of constant change and expansion in every direction including time in order to find room for all this energy. Even time expands in both directions.

  • The first time they switched the beam on it fucked up because one of the engineers left a stellar bottle in it. My tutor told me - he works there! I think that's epic..

  • im gonna be pissed if i dont get to graduate high school if this black whole bull shit happens , if so alot of molfuckin skulls are gonna be cracked when im done wit em

  • lol yes, the gay French will be the 1st to go on strike as they always do when theres no coffee in the tin...

  • stop giving him thumbs down, this is a brilliant comment

  • ha ha

  • lol why does one bother with retarded bible bashers?

It's like hitting your head against a brick wall mate.

  • Anyone know when this baby's gonna get fired up again?

I'm getting impatient to see my tax £ actually do something...

  • November I think

  • Thx. It seems to be a very delicate machine so that's probably why their being very carefull with it. Lol, they will have the wrath of the European tax payer should they critically fuck up!

  • I'm a curious dude and hope the LCH is good to go SOON.

havn't heard about the breakdown untill now.

I feel sorry for the LHC-team. So much effort and one error cousing all that, hope thay'll be careful while using it.

You people who are scared of it, stop praying and start reading cause as we all know, knowledge is power

  • all you "god-believers" are stoping the progress of knowledge.

  • why oh why are u so ignorant? :/

  • You are retarded....

Go and repent and make yourself usefull.

  • lol

  • It broke down because they needed thousands of giant magnets to work *perfectly*.

  • wasn't their a helium leak or something?

  • Electrical interconnect? Yeah, right.

BTW: Has anybody heard from Wile E. Coyote lately? I haven't heard from him since Sep. '08. I saw him with a set of jumper cables...... ??

  • What the hell, when she says "where are we now with repairs" You see a guy with a hammer smacking the LHC. lol

  • Bwahahaha. xD

  • How do you tighten things?

  • hahahaha made in china

  • This is what happens when you buy shit from China.

  • EPIC FAIL!

  • thats what you get from buying cheap superconductor connectors from home depot :p

  • yes made in china

  • Well they give a very technical and superduper hi-tech explaination for the malfunction, but it was probably just some guy that tripped over the power cord and pulled it out of the wall socket.

  • where will science draw the line huh, why cant we just be happy knowing what we do, we will never know everything because we cant catch up, too many things happen and the universe or universes are too big. its a waste of time cos we will wreck the planet before we have any of these answers. first we need disclosure of free energy, that is way more important in my eyes, free for every household. that is whats important, and no more poverty.

  • With thinking like that we'd be back in the caves wondering where to hunt our next dinner. First, what free energy? It's a myth thrown around as fact. Second, if there was free energy, someone or some company would figure out a way to charge for it. Third, rather than idly dream and accept things as it was/is, these people are doing something to make the dream a reality and to improve our lives in untold ways. If we don't directly benefit, maybe your kids will. It's called science.

  • Comment removed

  • @brittonblitz..... Are you serious?

  • Although you might be joking, i feel obliged to defend the LHC and science.

This is no doomsday machine. As CERN writes on their web page: the scientists working on it have families too, and wouldn't build this thing if they thought it was dangerous.

Scientific advance in itself is what it's all about, anyway. Humans are helpless puppets in a big black void, and science IS THE WAY OUT.

  • Even thoug I am religious, I really am, I don't see the point of an intelligent species, like ourselves, existing without tryind to find the answers to the big questions of existence.

Granted. You may not need the LHC to find the answers to all this. After all, many progresses have been made by more theoretical means. However, there are loose ends making machines like the LHC both neccesary and awfully tempting.

And if it all goes to hell, I would probably still think it was worth it.

  • I just got this image in my head of brittonblitz forefather going off like a madman predicting the end of the world at the first showing of THE WHEEL.

  • Am i right in thinking that CERN's experiments with the LHC are intended to prove M-theory's idea of the big-bang?

  • LHC is searching for a LOT of things. It's looking to find the Higgs Boson which is the last particle missing from the Standard Model. It's looking to find some answers on why there is so much matter in the universe and barely any anti-matter. It could discover Sparticles which would be evidence for Super Symmetry. And yes, it could find evidence for multiple dimensions like those described in M-theory.

It's doing a lot of things, and I'm very excited for when the experiments begin.

  • Well good they're getting their moneys worth lol. Yeah man these guys don't get enough praise

  • Thank you for posting this video - it was very interesting! I did not really know why the LHC went down until I saw this video. Great find!

  • hey i put up information on nikola teslas wireless energy system if you are interested. wireless energy tranfer!

  • LISTEN PEOPLE what we do at cern is a nobal thing. we dont go out seeking to destroy all of us we go out looking for scientific proof. we aim to advance mankind through science. THINK ABOUT IT if we can proov creation through the big bang theory and have it backed up with evidence from things like the higgs field we can proov creaton..... and if science can proov creation whats left for "god" thats the only reason we are getting so much resistance from people.

  • What you do at the LHC is (will be) very useful and history making..But for a scientist your religious "angle" on things is disturbing....

  • i respect what u say but i ask you to see it from my point of view...not only my view but many others. Can you imagine the frustration many fields of science have to cope with because their progress is constantly being slowen by the views of some religouse people who have power or that schools would rather teach cration than evolution because their head teacher is a devoted christian. i respect that what i say can be harsh to some people but i welcome healthy debate over science and religion.

  • if you consider yourself of a scientific mind then proving evolution does not disprove creation, as the teachings of religion are left to interpritation. my beleif is not particularly religious, or in complete dissagreement with you however it does bother me that you would beleive proving a theory disproves creation in general. i love science, i've always loved it, but ive come to my own conclusion, if god exists science is gods law, and god is bound by these laws as well.

  • ok. but if you understood my post u would see that i ment the big bang theory and the evidence that backs it up i.e the higgs particle/the higgs field not evulution. and the BB theory is the scientific form of creation which if prooven does dis-proov the creation story spread by churches. And by thw way in the scientific community prooving the bb theory does dis proov "the creation story" so yes i see myself as scientific minded :) please post back with your views :)

  • so this shit didn't work

  • so they have stopped the whole projrct this thing is just a landmark now.......?

  • no.

  • dude, 6billion is less then is spent on an average war,

and yeah, something that sensitive is bound to have a few hickups, did you hear the tight ohm specs? i never heard of such small amount of resistance!

  • oh fuck Im Calling the FCC to have the hole LHC

remove for good thay will come and brack your toy

  • our taxes

  • so this thing is soposed to kill every one

  • WELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Everyone no, just some people, with the money invested here they could save a lot of people and animals... So... Not everyone, just some...
