Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Tell me why your prophet said something else? There is one GOD.
You believe that Jesus is a demi-god and so is his father a demi-god....You don't actually believe in the alpha and omega God...I am not saying you don't have the right to believe this, but you need to understand that to Christians like myself, a God that is created isn't really God, but rather a demi-god, very much in line with the gods of the ancient Greeks, etc. I believe that God is beyond the notion of space and time, he is alpha and omega, always was, always will be.
@goodgirlkay "You believe that Jesus is a demi-god...you don't actually believe in the Alpha & Omega God...I am not saying you don't have the right to believe this, but you need to understand that to Jews like myself, a God that is born and dies isn't really God, but rather a demi-god, very much in line with the gods of ancient Greeks, etc. I believe that God is beyond the notion of space and time, he is "Alpha & Omega," neither born, nor dying. " What makes this different to Mormonism?
@goodgirlkay This sounds like a matter of semantics. You'd have to define demigod. Regardless, He IS the Alpha and Omega, just like He said He was. He is resurrected and continues to live, endless and eternal. He always will be God, and He does exist out of time, that's true, but He stepped in to it to take on a mortal body, then lay it down as part of working out the atonement The rub lies in our differing definitions of endless and eternal.
@billysunerson "our differing definitions of endless and eternal"...? Are you for real, what are these differing definitions? Endless and eternal are very simple terms...Either you believe that God always was, and he always will be...Or you believe he was created by a God that came before him, who in turn was created by a God who came before...infinitum...That is a major difference, that changes one's perspective. Mormons are by definition politheists...which is their right...
@goodgirlkay You're obviously more interested in dissension than a thoughtful exchange. So I won't waste any energy arguing. I'll only say that we are not polytheistic because there is only one God we worship. Polytheism would imply worship of many gods. But we don't. Any other beings in the same state as our God are none of our concern, they have no authority in this sphere. They might as well not exist at all. It's like worrying about the mayor of a city you've never heard of; inconsequential.
@billysunerson Whatever your perception of me, I am not interested in dissension, I am interested in the truth...I actually have no problems with Mormons calling themselves Christians...What I have a problem with are Mormons who attempt to whitewash the differences between themselves and mainline Christianity...I am especially offended by the SICK idea that black people were cursed by God, because of actions in the pre-existence...and Mormons still trying to justify this idea...
@goodgirlkay Well, I for one am proud of the distinction between us and mainline Christianity. I just don't like when the fact that we worship Christ and claim to be HIS church is dismissed. As for blacks, I'd suggest you watch Reo here's other video on that subject.
@billysunerson Secondly, you don't have to worship other Gods to be a politheist, you just have to believe that other Gods exist...I am not condemning Mormons for this belief, I am just pointing out that this makes them politheistic and not monotheistic. My major problem with Mormons is the blatant racism in your philosophy that this guy and others have tried justifying... I would like someone to ask Romney if he too believes that black people were cursed by God...
The "blatant racism" that you see is based in rumors and probably a little anti-Mormon propaganda. There is no doctrine in this church about blacks being cursed. When it comes to Mormonism, the only racism that exists are the hollow accusations of critics. We need not argue about this; just go to a church any Sunday, casually stroll in, and hang out through a couple meetings. Ask yourself if you see or feel any racism going on :)
Also, go to blacklds.org and look into the things that bother you or make you angry about the issue. As you study the subject honestly and thoroughly, you will find that most of the disturbing things you've heard about Mormonism are totally bogus.
@thatmormonboy THE NEGROES ARE NOT EQUAL WITH OTHER RACES where the receipt of certain spiritual blessings are concerned, ...but this inequality is not of man's origin. IT IS THE LORD'S DOING, is based on his eternal laws of justice, and grows out of the LACK OF SPIRITUAL VALIANCE OF THOSE CONCERNED IN THEIR FIRST ESTATE [the Mormon pre-existence]." LDS "Apostle" Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 527 - 528, 1966 edition
@thatmormonboy "Ham will continue to be servant of servants, as the Lord decreed, until the curse is removed. Will the present struggle [the U.S. civil war] free the slave? No.... Can you destroy the decrees of the Almighty? You cannot." LDS "Prophet" Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 10, p. 250, 1863.
@thatmormonboy And after the flood we are told that the curse that had been pronounced upon Cain was continued through Ham's wife, as he had married a wife of that seed. And why did it pass through the flood? Because it was necessary that THE DEVIL SHOULD HAVE A REPRESENTATION UPON THE EARTH as well as God...." Another good video, well done.

You also believe that special underwear protects you from demons.
You also believe that you'll be the god over your own planet after this life.
Your church president had a dream in 1978, from which he arose proclaiming that black people could become mormons.
mormons had to relinquish polygamy in order for Utah to become a state.
You store a year's supply of food in your houses.
And, so on.
