There has to be a way to get the 3G working. The modem is listed in Ubuntu using "lsusb" so it's just a matter of turning it on. I'm going to work on it for awhile. I'll post here if I get it going.

@babolatpdtp this is the 3G equipped computer yes with 2 years free from Verizon. It doesn't work in ubuntu for me. but, if i need it, i just boot into chrome os

Hey just a suggestion. In ubuntu go into the network settings and then go to add a VPN connection. There should be an option to add broadband adapter. See if you can add the verizon modem onto it.

Nice work. I was wondering when somebody would get another linux on a retail chromebook.
