my tube anemone stung my clowny to death right infront of me. The clown went wobbly after two strikes from the tube. Other fishes noticed the clumsy movement and started picking on the poor guy. Sadly enough, clowns dont think that tubes would sting them. :( If some ppl have a shy tube which hides more often than sting...their luck with a good tempered animal but they dont have eyes to see who is coming around firstly and their stings are to sting for hunt and defense to second.
i think the people talking shit about tube anemone not having a strong sting are full of shit .and dont have fish cause one swipe on the side of my clown fish and i though it was gonna die. it ripped the skin right off .and the zoos where the tentacles reach dead.
Contrary to popular believe, many tube anemones do not have a strong enough sting to kill clownfish. Aiptasia's have a stronger sting. a tube anemone's sting is weaker than coralimorphs

Man! That anemone's tube is FAT! I've only seen tube nems with skinny tubes...

A tube anemone will eat whatever it can catch including most clowns. However most fish know to avoid swimming into one of these bad boys.
