  • There is nothing "terrible" about the dancing of Adam Cooper, other than possibly his terrible beauty that makes it painfully hard to look away when he performs. He's a spellbinding performer and this is a gorgeous display of phenomenal talent. Cooper owns this role. In the ten years since he danced it no one has come close...

  • I seriously can't find anything attractive in this. The choreography is boring and the dancing is terrible. I know everyone will go against me but I've seen some weird stuff and am genneraly pretty open to new experimental. But I just don't see dancing here or art.

  • @Phersephoie I don't really see how you can say the dancing is terrible, I understand it may not be your cup of tea but these dancers are good and I don't see how you can dispute that XO

  • Sooo sexy... omg i had to say it!

  • Jonathan Ollivier?

  • I dont get who the man in the black boots is supposed to be? and i thought the swan was supposed to be a woman??

  • I dont get who the man in the black boots is supposed to be? and i thought the swan was supposed to be a woman??

  • @MidgetBuddie Yah, his name's Adam Cooper. :D He's a famous dancer and the original swan in Mattew Bourne's swan lake! :D Such talent.. and soo gorgeous! :D If you want to see more of him, he's the swan in the official DVD of Mattew Bourne's "Swan Lake", sold on Amazon. (a whole 2 hours of him!!! ) Woop! lol :D

  • There's quite a lot of counterpoint in this music by Tchaikovski....I never realised it before.

    Superbe ballet: scenario, choreography, dancers.

  • He's the dancer at the end of Billy Elliot!!! Ahhh........I'm slightly in love!

    * sigh*

  • @blackwaterrox Slightly? :o

  • Amazing.

  • Adam Cooper....SLURRRRRP!!

His wife Sarah is one lucky girl..:)

  • :O

    Perfect.

  • have you seen Mathew's Edward Scissorhands and word is he wants to do Romeo and Julian??? Intriguing no??

  • romeo and julian? where did you hear that??

that would be great - love romeo and juliet! :)

  • I loved Edward Scussorhands, It was brilliant!

  • Yes it is Adam Cooper there is no mistaking his distinctive looks even in makeup.

  • The music sounds...choppy? It's wonderful dancing, but with the music it's a bit awkward.

  • i love the pas de quatre!!!! such a clever idea

  • That must've been hard.. having to cut it all down into a montage. I've seen the DVD so many times now - it's a beautiful production.

  • its fantastic isnt it? It can never be givin justice when it isnt done in full

  • I don't know if he is in this performance, it doesn't look like his "style" - but maybe I'm wrong. I bought the dvd a month or two ago and have become a bit addicted to this production lol. The lead roles are played by Scott Ambler, Adam Cooper, Fiona Chadwick and Barry Atkinson. Well worth watching if you can't see the stage version of Matthew Bournes' Swan Lake!!! Personally I hope they get down to my part of the world again soon, so I can go and see a production!

  • where's Adam Cooper?

  • That'a Adam as the lead Swan with the Prince.

  • No, the swans are male, the rest of the cast is male and female. This is actually a terrble showing of it - they seem to be under a time constraint so the music is faster than it is in Matthew Bournes version and therefore the dancing isnt as good/smooth. I also don't know if that was actually Adam Cooper as the lead swan in the Royal Variety performance, or another dancer. Adam Cooper was fantastic in that role and there are great examples of his dancing on Youtube put up by balletfreak430.

  • That is Adam Cooper. His hair looks different. But it is. They did his hair like they did it in BIlly Elliot in this version. I can tell it's him by the way he looks. It's him alright.

  • Yes Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake is an all male cast and the end scene of Billy Elliot where he's grown up I think is actually a shot of the lead swan in this production of Swan lake, Adam Cooper.

  • Yes-per Adam Cooper's website that is indeed himself in the lead role as "Billy" all grown up in Swan Lake. I love his final leap across the stage in that film-and his father's emotional reaction. Heart-tugging moment.

  • Is this excerpt somewhat related to the final scene of Billy Elliot the movie? The costume and makeup were soooooo similar.

  • Yes it is-Adam Cooper plays the grown-up Billy leaping across the stage in the final 'Swan Lake' scene.

  • that's an amazing scene!
