If you're leaving space on the right, technically you're not taking the lane. In the first part of the video you seem to be very far left - if I were a driver I would assume you were going straight and that you'd positioned yourself to allow me to turn right, which is probably the correct procedure if lots of cars turn right there. If a car comes to a stop at the light in that far right lane, it's probably best to ride in front of him while he's stopped, so that you can reclaim the lane.
