This was actually where you used to appear when you ported into wintergrasp as a defender. They changed the spot because female taurens (like myself) were too fat to fit through the door and blizzard was incapable of recoding to make them fit.

that room has been there. thats originally where you would spawn if you took the port to WG. Tauren could not fit through the door.

Back when wotlk came out, when you used the portal to teleport to WG, theese rooms were the places where you would appear when coming to defend the keep. its no secret at all

But, it is a great spot for Shammys who love to abuse the Knockback spell they have.
