trying to get off of oxy at home is almost impossible. it doesnt hurt to ask for help. but if you are going to do it at home. then wein yourself down a little at a time. dont try the cold turkey way. you will almost always flash back after a few days. have a family member or friend or your pharmacist to administer your meds a little lower at a day. maybe 10 mgs a day untill your down to 20 mgs . remember its easier to cold turkey off of 20 mgs rather than 600 all at once. write me if you need he

then in college my frosh yr i first started fuckin with opiates...by end of soph yr i was a full blown addict stil with no knowledge about what the drug really was..i went home from school in the sumer and felt sick all week and didnt know why...i later realized i had been withdrawing...a feeling i would become more familiar with my juinor and senior years...dont mess wit this crap...monthly turns into weekly and weekly turns into DAILY habit FAST.i wish i never let myself get so carried away

so many ppl, like myself, try this shit having no idea what it is....i first discovered OC in college (i think if i discovered it in high school i'd b dead right now) i mean i took 2 5mg percosets when i was a senior during a plane ride and i thought it was heaven but i didnt know what the pills were and luckily i  forgot about it and didnt try to find more at that point....

well now they have out the oxy that is hard to abuse. they taste like rubber and cannot be snorted or shot up threw the veins. it will save many lives and addicts will as always turn to something else for that quick high they crave from addiction. like heroin. but like most communities in small town usa its hard to get so this will help addicts to reach out for help in some cases. godbless.

@MrRobertbarre sir i apologize if i offended anybody by my comment. but just yesterday i went to the doctor here in oklahoma and the pharmacy filled them for me. they are called O P instead of O C on the pills. now perhaps where you live at they havent started them yet or will. beings the internet covers the entire world who knows. but here in oklahoma or at least in southern oklahoma they have the new form of the pill out that stops abuse of snorting or shooting. go to drugs.com godbless

Yes, they introduced a non abusive form of Oxycontin in June of 2010 and basement chemists had the polymer bond defeated by October of 2010.

When I saw the chemical process to break it down, though, I was awful glad that I was no longer using. It's bad enough people close to me try to blow up and/or fumigate the house a couple of times a fall making a little oil to keep the home fires burning through winter I don't need a full scale lab in my humble home to break down pills.

i used oxy and heroin for close to 10 years and i never found that feeling ppl talk about... how it takes all your problems away...its bullshit.

you nod out for a hour or 2...after a few months the drugs do nothing but make you feel normal.

I CAN tell you Heroin. I'm 50 yrs. old. I've been through 12 rehabs. I was an All American in college. A commercial pilot for 18 yrs. I started young but hid my addiction. I lost a 375k home, a 25 yr. marrage. 1 leg, 2 fingers and 1 side of my face. Blew every vain in my arms after shooting for 17 yrs. I've been clean now for almost 5 yrs. It all started with 1innocent perscription of hydros. Again, I can tell you... It wasn't worth it.

whats the worst part is after the flu symptoms subside. the cravings hang around for a while and its like nothing you ever craved in your life. there is no quick fix to pain pill addiction. and the worst part is people who suffer chronic pain and end up being abusers. its a tough choice to chose the pain or the addiction. its best if somebody has chronic pain to have a family member you trust to help monitor your meds never trust yourself. good luck and god bless

You bring up a really good point. I think people with chronic illness are more susceptable to it because, with Illness comes depression, especially if they are physically limited. So they numb not only the pain, but emotional hurt as well. it's a vicious cycle.

To all and anyone reading... I was addicted to pain pills as well then unfortunately I decided to get on methadone instead ... bad idea.. plot of the story is... QUIT IT COLD TURKEY, the first three nights suck, but after that you will be ok and you will be able to sleep without a pill. You will feel weak and depressed, start eating right and exercising, and just stick to Marijuana.

methadone is just as addicting & a lot harder 2 break. its just as bad as doing herion, its also a narcotic. theyre clinic don't lower ur dosage they higher which makes no sense. theyre suppose 2 help reduce withdrawl symptoms not get u addicted! i dont understand. an other alternative that helps is Suboxen which blocks ur opiate receptors but they can also be addicting 2 some. Quiting COLD TURKEY isnt as easy but like u said eating & exercing will help give u energy. I agree stick 2 the MJ!!

Yea while in the methadone clinic I remember having such a hard time with my "counselor" when I asked her to please help me detox, she would not do it, starting saying that I would turn out to be a junkie and homeless if I tried to quit methadone, she tried to up my dose, as a drug dealer would to keep customers, I went against what she said and just quit, Honestly it took 14 days of no sleeping , body spasms, cramps, depression, weakness, etc,etc, but I was determined I was only 26.

Oxy is a sneaky drug. Took me 2 years of use (medicinaly) to realize I was addicted. Even though I never took it to purposely get high I was crushing/snorting rather than eating to get immediate pain relief. Snorting (or shooting) will cause you to increase dosage and addiction levels. I'm now a couple of weeks into the "weaning off" process and it REALLY sucks and is REALLY hard. Physical pain is worse than the actual cravings and psychological part. Opiates are a cruel master...

it's not just orange tang, thers is also cherry, and grape, there are also pills, or release tablets that you mix in water. The methadone industry is the worst criminal drug dealing induttry out there, it does help at first but then they keep you on it and don't let you off it, $14 per day adds up.

I weiened from 60mg of methadone to 25 then to 20 then to 15 then 10 then they wouldnt let me get off it, even at those low doses withdrawal was pure hell, I remember one night out of the 14 nights of staying up where I was sitting in the shower with hot water pouring over me (the only thing that helped) and I swear I had this hallucination of this snake crawling up my spine and she had a womans face, but it does get better, now I am able to take a big bong hit and feel just as good as then.
